Abstract:The spin can be described in the star product formalism by extending the bosonic Moyal product in the fermionic sector. The fermionic star product is then the Clifford product of geometric algebra and it is possible to formulate the fermionic star product formalism in analogy to the bosonic star product formalism. For the fermionic star product description of spin, one can then establish the relation to other approaches that describe spin with fermionic variables, i.e. the operator formalism and the path integral formalism. It is shown that the fermionic star product formalism and the fermionic path integral formalism are related in analogy to their bosonic counterparts.

Abstract:We use the well-known isomorphism between operator algebras and function spaces equipped with a star product to study the asymptotic properties of certain matrix sequences in which the matrix dimension $D$ tends to infinity. Our approach is based on the $su(2)$ coherent states which allow for a systematic 1/D expansion of the star product. This produces a trace formula for functions of the matrix sequence elements in the large-$D$ limit which includes higher order (finite-$D$) corrections. From this a variety of analytic results pertaining to the asymptotic properties of the density of states, eigenstates and expectation values associated with the matrix sequence follows. It is shown how new and existing results in the settings of collective spin systems and orthogonal polynomial sequences can be readily obtained as special cases. In particular, this approach allows for the calculation of higher order corrections to the zero distributions of a large class of orthogonal polynomials.

Abstract:We recall some of the fundamental achievements of formal deformation quantization to argue that one of the most important remaining problems is the question of convergence. Here we discuss different approaches found in the literature so far. The recent developments of finding convergence conditions are then outlined in three basic examples: the Weyl star product for constant Poisson structures, the Gutt star product for linear Poisson structures, and the Wick type star product on the Poincar\'e disc.

Abstract:We construct a multiple star product method and, using this method, show that integral forms of some star products can be written in terms of the path integral. The method is applied to some examples. In particular, the associativity of the skew-symmetrized Berezin star product proposed by Saito and Wakatsuki is recovered in the large-N limit of the multiple star product. We also derive the path integral form of the Kontsevich star product from the multiple Moyal star product. This paper includes a review of star products.

Abstract:We define a natural class of star products: those which are given by a series of bidifferential operators which at order $k$ in the deformation parameter have at most $k$ derivatives in each argument. We show that any such star product on a symplectic manifold defines a unique symplectic connection. We parametrise such star products, study their invariance and give necessary and sufficient conditions for them to yield a quantum moment map. We show that Kravchenko's sufficient condition for a moment map for a Fedosov star product is also necessary.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss a similar functional to that of a standard integral. The main difference is in its definition: instead of taking a sum, we are taking a product. It turns out this new "star-integral" may be written in terms of the standard integral but it has many different (and similar) interesting properties compared to the regular integral. Further, we define a "star-derivative" and discuss its relationship to the "star-integral".

Abstract:In the present paper we construct the star products concerning scalar fields in the covariant case from a new approach. We construct the star products at three levels, which are levels of functions on Rd, fields and functionals respectively. We emphases that the star product at level of functions is essence and starting point for our setting. Firstly the star product of functions includes all algebraic and combinatorial information of the star products concerning the scalar fields and functionals almost. Secondly, a more interesting point is that the star product of functions concerns only finite dimensional issue, which is a Moyal-like star product on Rd generated by a bi-vector field with abstract coefficients. Thus the Kontsevich graphs play some roles naturally. Actually we prove that there is an ono-one correspondence between a class of Kontsevich graphs and the Feynman graphs. Additionally the Wick theorem, Wick power and the expectation of Wick-monomial are discussed in terms of the star product at level of functions. Our construction can be considered as the generalisation of the star products in perturbative algebraic quantum fields theory and twist product introduced in [1],[2].

Abstract:The authors introduce and investigate the various properties and characteristics of two subclasses Hn(α,β) and Hn+(α,β) of starlike functions of order β. In particular, several inclusion relations, Hadamard products, coefficient estimates, distortion theorems and covering theorems are proven here for each of these function classes. Furthermore, some interesting distortion theorems for the Srivastava–Saigo–Owa fractional integral operator are obtained. Some of the results, presented in this paper, generalize and extend the corresponding results of earlier authors.

Abstract:In this paper we address the relation between the star exponentials emerging within the Deformation Quantization formalism and Feynman's path integrals associated with propagators in quantum dynamics. In order to obtain such a relation, we start by visualizing the quantum propagator as an integral transform of the star exponential by means of the symbol corresponding to the time evolution operator and, thus, we introduce Feynman's path integral representation of the propagator as a sum over all the classical histories. The star exponential thus constructed has the advantage that it does not depend on the convergence of formal series, as commonly understood within the context of Deformation Quantization. We include some basic examples to illustrate our findings, recovering standard results reported in the literature. Further, for an arbitrary finite dimensional system, we use the star exponential introduced here in order to find a particular representation of the star product which resembles the one encountered in the context of the quantum field theory for a Poisson sigma model.

Abstract:By making use of some families of integral and derivative operators, many distinct subclasses of analytic, starlike functions, and symmetric starlike functions have already been defined and investigated from numerous perspectives. In this article, with the help of the one-parameter Bernardi integral operator, we investigate several majorization results for the class of normalized starlike functions, which are associated with the Janowski functions. We also give some particular cases of our main results. Finally, we direct the interested readers to the possibility of examining the fundamental or quantum (or q-) extensions of the findings provided in this work in the concluding section. However, the (p,q)-variations of the suggested q-results will provide relatively minor and inconsequential developments because the additional (rather forced-in) parameter p is obviously redundant.

Abstract:In this paper the analogy between differential forms arising from integrals in additive calculus and forms arising from the integrals in product calculus is investigated. It is found that with an appropriate definition of scalar multiplication and vector addition a set of vector spaces can be constructed analogous to what is found in exterior calculus. A product differential is defined which allows for the product derivative version of closed and exact forms. The product differential also allows for a product integral version of Stokes theorem (for scalar functions).

Abstract:The formula $\star$ mod $\bar{o}(\hbar^k)$ of Kontsevich's star-product with harmonic propagators was known in full at $\hbar^{k\leqslant 6}$ since 2018 for generic Poisson brackets, and since 2022 also at $k=7$ for affine brackets. We discover that the mechanism of associativity for the star-product up to $\bar{o}(\hbar^6)$ is different from the mechanism at order $7$ for both the full star-product and the affine star-product. Namely, at lower orders the needed consequences of the Jacobi identity are immediately obtained from the associator mod $\bar{o}(\hbar^6)$, whereas at order $\hbar^7$ and higher, some of the necessary differential consequences are reached from the Kontsevich graphs in the associator in strictly more than one step.

Invariant Star Products of Wick Type: Classification and Quantum Momentum Mappings

Abstract:We extend our investigations on $\mathfrak g$-invariant Fedosov star products and quantum momentum mappings \cite{MN03a} to star products of Wick type on pseudo-Kähler manifolds. Star products of Wick type can be completely characterized by a local description as given by Karabegov in \cite{Kar96} for star products with separation of variables. We separately treat the action of a Lie group $G$ on $\Cinf{M}[[\nu]]$ by (pull-backs with) diffeomorphisms and the action of a Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ on $\Cinf{M}[[\nu]]$ by (Lie derivatives with respect to) vector fields. Within Karabegov's framework we prove necessary and sufficient conditions for a given star product of Wick type to be invariant in the respective sense. Moreover, our results yield a complete classification of invariant star products of Wick type. We also prove a necessary and sufficient condition for (the Lie derivative with respect to) a vector field to be even a quasi-inner derivation of a given star product of Wick type. We then transfer our former results about quantum momentum mappings for $\mathfrak g$-invariant Fedosov star products to the case of invariant star products of Wick type.

Abstract:We discuss the application of the deformation quantization approach to perturbative quantum field theory. We show that the various forms of Wick's theorem are a direct consequence of the structure of the star products. We derive the scattering function for a free scalar field in interaction with a spacetime-dependent source. We show that the translation to operator formalism reproduces the known relations which lead to the derivation of the Feynman rules.

Abstract:The deformation quantization by Kontsevich [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="q-alg/9709040" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/q-alg/9709040">arXiv:q-alg/9709040</a>] is a way to construct an associative noncommutative star-product $\star=\times+\hbar \{\ ,\ \}_{P}+\bar{o}(\hbar)$ in the algebra of formal power series in $\hbar$ on a given finite-dimensional affine Poisson manifold: here $\times$ is the usual multiplication, $\{\ ,\ \}_{P}\neq0$ is the Poisson bracket, and $\hbar$ is the deformation parameter. The product $\star$ is assembled at all powers $\hbar^{k\geq0}$ via summation over a certain set of weighted graphs with $k+2$ vertices; for each $k>0$, every such graph connects the two co-multiples of $\star$ using $k$ copies of $\{\ ,\ \}_{P}$. Cattaneo and Felder [ <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="math/9902090" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/math/9902090">arXiv:math/9902090</a> [math.QA] ] interpreted these topological portraits as the genuine Feynman diagrams in the Ikeda-Izawa model [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="hep-th/9312059" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/9312059">arXiv:hep-th/9312059</a>] for quantum gravity. By expanding the star-product up to $\bar{o}(\hbar^3)$, i.e., with respect to graphs with at most five vertices but possibly containing loops, we illustrate the mechanism Assoc = Operator(Poisson) that converts the Jacobi identity for the bracket $\{\ ,\ \}_{P}$ into the associativity of $\star$.
