Abstract:We define a natural class of star products: those which are given by a series of bidifferential operators which at order $k$ in the deformation parameter have at most $k$ derivatives in each argument. We show that any such star product on a symplectic manifold defines a unique symplectic connection. We parametrise such star products, study their invariance and give necessary and sufficient conditions for them to yield a quantum moment map. We show that Kravchenko's sufficient condition for a moment map for a Fedosov star product is also necessary.

Abstract:This short summary of recent developments in quantum compact groups and star products is divided into 2 parts. In the first one we recast star products in a more abstract form as deformations and review its recent developments. The second part starts with a rapid presentation of standard quantum group theory and its problems, then moves to their completion by introduction of suitable Montel topologies well adapted to duality. Preferred deformations (by star products and unchanged coproducts) of Hopf algebras of functions on compact groups and their duals, are of special interest. Connection with the usual models of quantum groups and the quantum double is then presented.

Abstract:The notion of a local line bundle on a manifold, classified by 2-cohomology with real coefficients, is introduced. The twisting of pseudodifferential operators by such a line bundle leads to an algebroid with elliptic elements with real-valued index, given by a twisted variant of the Atiyah-Singer index formula. Using ideas of Boutet de Monvel and Guillemin the corresponding twisted Toeplitz algebroid on any compact symplectic manifold is shown to yield the star products of Lecomte and DeWilde ([MR84g:17014]) see also Fedosov's construction in [MR92k:58267]. This also shows that the trace on the star algebra is identified with the residue trace of Wodzicki and Guillemin

Abstract:We recall some of the fundamental achievements of formal deformation quantization to argue that one of the most important remaining problems is the question of convergence. Here we discuss different approaches found in the literature so far. The recent developments of finding convergence conditions are then outlined in three basic examples: the Weyl star product for constant Poisson structures, the Gutt star product for linear Poisson structures, and the Wick type star product on the Poincar\'e disc.

Abstract:We analyze the star product induced on the algebra of functions on R^3 by a suitable reduction of the Moyal product defined on F(R^4). This is obtained through the identification of R^3 with the dual of a three dimensional Lie algebra. We consider the su(2) case, exhibit a matrix basis and realize the algebra of functions on its dual in such a basis. The relation to the Duflo map is discussed. As an application to quantum mechanics we compute the spectrum of the hydrogen atom.

Abstract:The deformation quantization by Kontsevich [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="q-alg/9709040" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/q-alg/9709040">arXiv:q-alg/9709040</a>] is a way to construct an associative noncommutative star-product $\star=\times+\hbar \{\ ,\ \}_{P}+\bar{o}(\hbar)$ in the algebra of formal power series in $\hbar$ on a given finite-dimensional affine Poisson manifold: here $\times$ is the usual multiplication, $\{\ ,\ \}_{P}\neq0$ is the Poisson bracket, and $\hbar$ is the deformation parameter. The product $\star$ is assembled at all powers $\hbar^{k\geq0}$ via summation over a certain set of weighted graphs with $k+2$ vertices; for each $k>0$, every such graph connects the two co-multiples of $\star$ using $k$ copies of $\{\ ,\ \}_{P}$. Cattaneo and Felder [ <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="math/9902090" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/math/9902090">arXiv:math/9902090</a> [math.QA] ] interpreted these topological portraits as the genuine Feynman diagrams in the Ikeda-Izawa model [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="hep-th/9312059" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/9312059">arXiv:hep-th/9312059</a>] for quantum gravity. Fréchet algebraic deformation quantization of the Poincaré disk

Abstract:Starting from formal deformation quantization we use an explicit formula for a star product on the Poincaré disk D_n to introduce a Fréchet topology making the star product continuous. To this end a general construction of locally convex topologies on algebras with countable vector space basis is introduced and applied. Several examples of independent interest are investigated as e.g. group algebras over finitely generated groups and infinite matrices. In the case of the star product on D_n the resulting Fréchet algebra is shown to have many nice features: it is a strongly nuclear Köthe space, the symmetry group SU(1, n) acts smoothly by continuous automorphisms with an inner infinitesimal action, and evaluation functionals at all points of D_n are continuous positive functionals.

Abstract:We analyze the Moyal star product in deformation quantization from the resurgence theory perspective. By putting algebraic conditions on Borel transforms, one can define the space of ``algebro-resurgent series'' (a subspace of $1$-Gevrey formal series in $i\hbar/2$ with coefficients in $C\{q,p\}$), which we show is stable under Moyal star product.

Abstract:We discuss the bicrossproduct structure of the quantum group $\varrho$-Poincaré and of the dual quantum universal enveloping algebra, expanding the construction to general Lie algebra-type deformations of Poincaré coming from classical $r$-matrices. We review the relation between different bases of the quantum universal enveloping algebra of $\varrho$-Poincaré and noncommutative $\star$-products defined on the $\varrho$-Minkowski spacetime, analysing some of their relevant features. Furthermore, we comment on the role of physical bases and introduce the $\varrho$-Poincaré quantum Lie algebra.

The Orbits of the Action of the Cactus Group on Arc Diagrams

Abstract:The cactus group $J_n$ is the $S_n$-equivariant fundamental group of the real locus of the Deligne-Mumford moduli space of stable rational curves with marked points. This group plays the role of the braid group for the monoidal category of Kashiwara crystals attached to a simple Lie algebra. Following Frenkel, Kirillov and Varchenko, one can identify the multiplicity set in a tensor product of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$-crystals with the set of arc diagrams on a disc, thus allowing a much simpler description of the corresponding $J_n$-action. We address the problem of classifying the orbits of this cactus group action. Namely, we describe some invariants of this action and show that in some (fairly general) classes of examples there are no other invariants. Furthermore, we describe some additional relations, including the braid relation, that this action places on the generators of $J_n$.

Abstract:The formula $\star$ mod $\bar{o}(\hbar^k)$ of Kontsevich's star-product with harmonic propagators was known in full at $\hbar^{k\leqslant 6}$ since 2018 for generic Poisson brackets, and since 2022 also at $k=7$ for affine brackets. We discover that the mechanism of associativity for the star-product up to $\bar{o}(\hbar^6)$ is different from the mechanism at order $7$ for both the full star-product and the affine star-product. Namely, at lower orders the needed consequences of the Jacobi identity are immediately obtained from the associator mod $\bar{o}(\hbar^6)$, whereas at order $\hbar^7$ and higher, some of the necessary differential consequences are reached from the Kontsevich graphs in the associator in strictly more than one step.

Abstract:In the first part of this paper we outline the constructions and properties of Fedosov star product and Berezin-Toeplitz star product. In the second part we outline the basic ideas and recent developments on Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture on the existence of Kähler metrics of constant scalar curvature. In the third part of the paper we outline recent results of both authors, and in particular show that the constant scalar curvature Kähler metric problem and the study of deformation quantization meet at the notion of trace (density) for star product. We formulate a cohomology formula for the invariant of K-stability condition on Kähler metrics with constant Cahen-Gutt momentum.
A Formal Equivalence of Deformation Quantization and Geometric Quantization (of Higher Groupoids) and Non-Perturbative Sigma Models

Abstract:Based on work done by Bonechi, Cattaneo, Felder and Zabzine on Poisson sigma models, we formally show that Kontsevich's star product can be obtained from the twisted convolution algebra of the geometric quantization of a Lie 2-groupoid, one which integrates the Poisson structure. We show that there is an analogue of the Poisson sigma model which is valued in Lie 1-groupoids and which can often be defined non-perturbatively; it can be obtained by symplectic reduction using the quantization of the Lie 2-groupoid. We call these groupoid-valued sigma models and we argue that, when they exist, they can be used to compute correlation functions of gauge invariant observables. This leads to a (possibly non-associative) product on the underlying space of functions on the Poisson manifold, and in several examples we show that we recover strict deformation quantizations, in the sense of Rieffel. Even in the cases when our construction leads to a non-associative product we still obtain a $C^*$-algebra and a "quantization" map. In particular, we construct noncommutative $C^*$-algebras equipped with an $SU(2)$-action, together with an equivariant "quantization" map from $C^{\infty}(S^2)\,.$ No polarizations are used in the construction of these algebras.

Abstract:This paper describes two real analytic symplectomorphisms defined on appropriate dense open subsets of any coadjoint orbit of a compact semisimple Lie algebra. The first symplectomorphism sends the open dense subset to a bounded subset of a standard cotangent bundle. The second symplectomorphism has target a bounded subset of a hyperbolic coadjoint orbit of an associated non-compact semi-simple Lie algebra. Therefore, coadjoint orbits of compact Lie algebras are symplectic compactifications of domains of cotangent bundles, and are in symplectic duality with hyperbolic orbits of non-compact semisimple Lie algebras.

From Kontsevich Graphs to Feynman graphs, a Viewpoint from the Star Products of Scalar Fields

Abstract:In the present paper we construct the star products concerning scalar fields in the covariant case from a new approach. We construct the star products at three levels, which are levels of functions on Rd, fields and functionals respectively. We emphases that the star product at level of functions is essence and starting point for our setting. Firstly the star product of functions includes all algebraic and combinatorial information of the star products concerning the scalar fields and functionals almost. Secondly, a more interesting point is that the star product of functions concerns only finite dimensional issue, which is a Moyal-like star product on Rd generated by a bi-vector field with abstract coefficients. Thus the Kontsevich graphs play some roles naturally. Actually we prove that there is an ono-one correspondence between a class of Kontsevich graphs and the Feynman graphs. Additionally the Wick theorem, Wick power and the expectation of Wick-monomial are discussed in terms of the star product at level of functions. Our construction can be considered as the generalisation of the star products in perturbative algebraic quantum fields theory and twist product introduced in [1],[2].

Abstract:The orbit-fixing deformation spaces of $C^\infty$ locally free actions of simply connected Lie groups on closed $C^\infty$ manifolds have been studied by several authors. In this paper we reformulate the deformation space by imitating the Teichmüller space of a surface. The new formulation seems to be more appropriate for actions of Lie groups which are not simply connected. We also consider actions which may not be locally free, and generalize the deformation spaces for actions of Lie groupoids. Furthermore by using bornologies on Lie groupoids, we make the definition of the deformation space more suitable to deal with actions on noncompact manifolds. In this generality we prove that "cocycle rigidity" implies the deformation space is a point. We compute the deformation space of the action of $\mathop{\mathrm{PSL}}(2,\mathbb{R})$ on $\Gamma\backslash\mathop{\mathrm{PSL}}(2,\mathbb{R})$ by right multiplication for a torsion free cocompact lattice $\Gamma$ in $\mathop{\mathrm{PSL}}(2,\mathbb{R})$.

Abstract:For a Lie groupoid G with Lie algebroid A, we realize the symplectic leaves of the Lie–Poisson structure on A∗ as orbits of the affine coadjoint action of the Lie groupoid JG⋉T∗M on A∗, which coincide with the groupoid orbits of the symplectic groupoid T∗G over A∗. It is also shown that there is a fiber bundle structure on each symplectic leaf. In the case of gauge groupoids, a symplectic leaf is the universal phase space for a classical particle in a Yang–Mills field.
