Abstract:We give a short proof of Wolff-Denjoy theorem for (not necessarily smooth) strictly convex domains. With similar techniques we are also able to prove a Wolff-Denjoy theorem for weakly convex domains, again without any smoothness assumption on the boundary.

Abstract:We characterize the simply connected domains $\Omega\subsetneq\mathbb{C}$ that exhibit the Denjoy-Wolff Property, meaning that every holomorphic self-map of $\Omega$ without fixed points has a Denjoy-Wolff point. We demonstrate that this property holds if and only if every automorphism of $\Omega$ without fixed points in $\Omega$ has a Denjoy-Wolff point. Furthermore, we establish that the Denjoy-Wolff Property is equivalent to the existence of what we term an ``$H$-limit'' at each boundary point for a Riemann map associated with the domain. The $H$-limit condition is stronger than the existence of non-tangential limits but weaker than unrestricted limits. As an additional result of our work, we prove that there exist bounded simply connected domains where the Denjoy-Wolff Property holds but which are not visible in the sense of Bharali and Zimmer. Since visibility is a sufficient condition for the Denjoy-Wolff Property, this proves that in general it is not necessary.

Abstract:We give a simple proof of the Baillon-Haddad theorem for convex functions defined on open and convex subsets of Hilbert spaces. We also state some generalizations and limitations. In particular, we discuss equivalent characterizations of the Lipschitz continuity of the derivative of convex functions on open and convex subsets of Banach spaces.

Abstract:Rudin's version of the classical Julia-Wolff-Carathéodory theorem is a cornerstone of holomorphic function theory in the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^d$. In this paper we obtain a complete generalization of Rudin's theorem for a holomorphic map $f\colon D\to D'$ between convex domains of finite type. In particular, given a point $\xi\in \partial D$ with finite dilation we show that the $K$-limit of $f$ at $\xi$ exists and is a point $\eta\in \partial D'$, and we obtain asymptotic estimates for all entries of the Jacobian matrix of the differential $df_z$ in terms of the multitypes at the points $\xi$ and at $\eta$. We introduce a generalization of Bracci-Patrizio-Trapani's pluricomplex Poisson kernel which, together with the dilation at $\xi$, gives a formula for the restricted $K$-limit of the normal component of the normal derivative $\langle df_z(n_\xi),n_\eta\rangle$. Our principal tools are methods from Gromov hyperbolicity theory, a scaling in the normal direction, and the strong asymptoticity of complex geodesics. To obtain our main result we prove a conjecture by Abate on the Kobayashi type of a vector $v$, proving that it is equal to the reciprocal of the line type of $v$, and we give new extrinsic characterizations of both $K$-convergence and restricted convergence to a point $\xi\in \partial D$ in terms of the multitype at $\xi$.

Abstract:We study the eigenvalues of Hodge--Laplace operators over bounded convex domains. Generalizing contributions by Guerini and Savo, we show that the Poincaré--Friedrichs constants of the Sobolev de~Rham complexes increase with the degree of the forms. We establish that the spectra of Hodge--Laplace operators converge when the domain is approximated by a sequence of convex domains up to a bi-Lipschitz deformation of the boundary. As preparatory work with independent relevance, we study the gauge function and the reciprocal radial function of convex sets, providing new proofs for Lipschitz estimates by Vrećica and Toranzos for the reciprocal radial function and improving a Lipschitz estimate for the gauge function due to Beer.

Abstract:A special type of Gagliardo-Nirenberg-Sobolev (GNS) inequalities in $\mathbb{R}^d$ has played a key role in several proofs of Lieb-Thirring inequalities. Recently, a need for GNS inequalities in convex domains of $\mathbb{R}^d$, in particular for cubes, has arised. The purpose of this manuscript is two-fold. First we prove a GNS inequality for convex domains, with explicit constants which depend on the geometry of the domain. Later, using the discrete version of Rumin's method, we prove GNS inequalities on cubes with improved constants.

Abstract:Abstract For large classes of (finite and) infinite dimensional complex Banach spaces Z , B its open unit ball and $$f:B\rightarrow B$$ f : B → B a compact holomorphic fixed-point free map, we introduce and define the Wolff hull , W ( f ), of f in $$\partial B$$ ∂ B and prove that W ( f ) is proximal to the images of all subsequential limits of the sequences of iterates $$(f^n)_n$$ ( f n ) n of f . The Wolff hull generalises the concept of a Wolff point, where such a point can no longer be uniquely determined, and coincides with the Wolff point if Z is a Hilbert space. Recall that $$(f^n)_n$$ ( f n ) n does not generally converge even in finite dimensions, compactness of f (i.e. f ( B ) is relatively compact) is necessary for convergence in the infinite dimensional Hilbert ball and all accumulation points $$\Gamma (f)$$ Γ ( f ) of $$(f^n)_n$$ ( f n ) n map B into $$\partial B$$ ∂ B (for any topology finer than the topology of pointwise convergence on B ). If B is the Hilbert ball, W ( f ) is the Wolff point, and this is the usual Denjoy–Wolff result. Our results are for all reflexive Banach spaces having a homogeneous ball (or equivalently, for all finite rank $$JB^*$$ J B ∗ -triples). These include many well-known operator spaces, for example, L ( H , K ), where either H or K is finite dimensional.

Abstract:This note aims to study the iteration theory of noncommutative self-maps of bounded matrix convex domains. We prove a version of the Denjoy-Wolff theorem for the row ball and the maximal quantization of the unit ball of $\mathbb{C}^d$. For more general bounded matrix convex sets, we prove a version of Wolff's theorem inspired by the results of Abate. Lastly, we use iteration and fixed point theory to generalize the commutative results of Davidson, Ramsey, and Shalit to quotients of the free semigroup algebra by WOT closed ideals.

Abstract:We study the exact effect of the anisotropic convexity of domains on the boundary estimate for two Monge-Ampère Equations: one is singular which is from the proper affine hyperspheres with constant mean curvature; the other is degenerate which is from the Monge-Ampère eigenvalue problem. As a result, we obtain the sharp boundary boundary estimates and the optimal global Hölder regularity for the two equations.

Abstract:This paper studies the Neumann boundary value problems for the Stokes equations in a convex domain in $\mathbb{R}^d$. We obtain nontangential-maximal-function estimates in $L^p$ and $W^{1, p}$ estimates for $p$ in certain ranges depending on $d$. These ranges are larger than the known ranges for Lipschitz domains. The proof relies on a $W^{2, 2}$ estimate for the Stokes equations in convex domains.

Abstract:We give a short and self-contained proof of the Boundary Harnack inequality for a class of domains satisfying some geometric conditions given in terms of a state function that behaves as the distance function to the boundary, is subharmonic inside the domain and satisfies some suitable estimates on the measure of its level sets. We also discuss the applications of this result to some shape optimization and free boundary problems.

It gives an improvement for the earlier result, which states that , where is a constant. Abstract:We study classes of domains in $\mathbb{R}^{d+1},\ d \geq 2$ with sufficiently flat boundaries which admit a decomposition or covering of bounded overlap by Lipschitz graph domains with controlled total surface area. This study is motivated by the following result proved by Peter Jones as a piece of his proof of the Analyst's Traveling Salesman Theorem in the complex plane: Any simply connected domain $\Omega\subseteq\mathbb{C}$ with finite boundary length $\mathcal{H}^1(\partial\Omega)$ can be decomposed into Lipschitz graph domains with total boundary length bounded above by $M\mathcal{H}^1(\partial\Omega)$ for some $M$ independent of $\Omega$. In this paper, we prove an analogous Lipschitz decomposition result in higher dimensions for domains with Reifenberg flat boundaries satisfying a uniform beta-squared sum bound. We use similar techniques to show that domains with general Reifenberg flat or uniformly rectifiable boundaries admit similar Lipschitz decompositions while allowing the constituent domains to have bounded overlaps rather than be disjoint.

Abstract:Letfbe a holomorphic self-map of the unit ball in dimension 2, which does not have an interior fixed point. Suppose thatfhas a Wolff pointpwith the boundary dilatation coefficient equal to 1 and the non-tangential differential df(p)=id. The local behaviours offnearpare quite diverse, and we give a detailed study in many typical cases. As a byproduct, we give a dynamical interpretation of the Burns-Krantz rigidity theorem. Note also that similar results hold on two-dimensional contractible smoothly bounded strongly pseudoconvex domains.

Abstract:We introduce the class of quasiconvex Lipschitz domains, which covers both $C^1$ and convex domains, to the study of boundary unique continuation for elliptic operators. In particular, we prove the upper bound of the size of nodal sets for Dirichlet eigenfunctions of general elliptic equations in bounded quasiconvex Lipschitz domains. Our result is new even for Laplace operator in convex domains.

Abstract:We consider the steady Stokes equations in a bounded domain with forcing in divergence form supplemented with no-slip boundary conditions. We provide a maximal regularity theory in Campanato spaces (inlcuding $\mathrm{BMO}$ and $C^{0,\alpha}$ for $0<\alpha <1$ as special cases) under minimal assumptions on the regularity of the underlying domain. Our approach is based on pointwise multipliers in Campanto spaces.
