Abstract:We develop a deformation theory for finite-dimensional left-symmetric color algebras, which can be used to construct more new algebraic structures and interpret left-symmetric color cohomology spaces of lower degrees. We explore equivalence classes and extendability of deformations for a fixed left-symmetric color algebra, demonstrating that each infinitesimal deformation is nontrivially extendable if the third cohomology subspace of degree zero is trivial. We also study Nijenhuis operators and Rota-Baxter operators on a left-symmetric color algebra, providing a better understanding of the equivalence class of the trivial infinitesimal deformation.

Abstract:One of the questions investigated in deformation theory is to determine to which algebras can a given associative algebra be deformed. In this paper we investigate a different but related question, namely: for a given associative finite-dimensional C-algebra A, find algebras N which can be deformed to A. We develop a simple method which produces associative and flat deformations to investigate this question. As an application of this method we answer a question of Michael Wemyss about deformations of contraction algebras.

Abstract:The main purpose of this article is to develop an explicit derived deformation theory of algebraic structures at a high level of generality, encompassing in a common framework various kinds of algebras (associative, commutative, Poisson...) or bialgebras (associative and coassociative, Lie, Frobenius...), that is algebraic structures parametrized by props. A central aspect is that we define and study moduli spaces of deformations of algebraic structures up to quasi-isomorphisms (and not just isotopies or isomorphisms). To do so, we implement methods coming from derived algebraic geometry, by encapsulating these deformation theories as classifying (pre)stacks with good infinitesimal properties and derived formal geometry, by means of derived formal moduli problems and derived formal groups. In particular, we prove that the Lie algebra describing the deformation theory of an object in a given $\infty$-category of dg algebras can be obtained equivalently as the tangent complex of loops on a derived quotient of this moduli space by the homotopy automorphims of this object. Moreover, we provide explicit formulae for such derived deformation problems of algebraic structures up to quasi-isomorphisms and relate them in a precise way to other standard deformation problems of algebraic structures. This relation is given by a fiber sequence of the associated dg-Lie algebras of their deformation complexes. Our results provide simultaneously a vast generalization of standard deformation theory of algebraic structures which is suitable (and needed) to set up algebraic deformation theory both at the $\infty$-categorical level and at a higher level of generality than algebras over operads. In addition, we study a general criterion to compare formal moduli problems of different algebraic structures and apply our formalism to $E_n$-algebras and bialgebras.

Abstract:We develop the notion of deformations using a valuation ring as ring of coefficients. This permits to consider in particular the classical Gerstenhaber deformations of associative or Lie algebras as infinitesimal deformations and to solve the equation of deformations in a polynomial frame. We consider also the deformations of the enveloping algebra of a rigid Lie algebra and we define valued deformations for some classes of non associative algebras.

Abstract:A theorem of Lurie and Pridham establishes a correspondence between formal moduli problems and differential graded Lie algebras in characteristic zero, thereby formalising a well-known principle in deformation theory. We introduce a variant of differential graded Lie algebras, called partition Lie algebras, in arbitrary characteristic. We then explicitly compute the homotopy groups of free algebras, which parametrise operations. Finally, we prove generalisations of the Lurie-Pridham correspondence classifying formal moduli problems via partition Lie algebras over an arbitrary field, as well as over a complete local base.

Abstract:Let $\mathbb{k}$ be a field, and let $\Lambda$ be a (not necessarily finite dimensional) $\mathbb{k}$-algebra. Let $V$ be a left $\Lambda$-module such that is finite dimensional over $\mathbb{k}$. Assume further that $V$ has a weak universal deformation ring $R^w(\Lambda,V)$, which is a complete Noetherian commutative local $\mathbb{k}$-algebra with residue field $\mathbb{k}$. We prove in this note that under certain conditions on the $\Lambda$-module $V$, that if $R^w(\Lambda,V)$ is a quotient of $\mathbb{k}[\![t]\!]$, then $R^w(\Lambda,V)$ is either isomorphic to $\mathbb{k}$, or $\mathbb{k}[\![t]\!]$, or to $\mathbb{k}[\![t]\!]/(t^N)$ for some integer $N\geq 2$.

Let V be an indecomposable left Λ -module which is finite dimensional over k and such that dimkExtΛ1(V,V)≤1 . Assume further that V has a weak universal deformation ring Rw(Λ,V) , which is a complete Noetherian commutative local k -algebra with residue field k . Abstract:The paper is devoted to the study of deformations of Artinian algebras and zero-dimensional germs of varieties. In particular, an approach is developed to solving the open problem about the nonexistence of rigid Artinian algebras; it is based essentially on the use of the canonical duality in the cotangent complex. Thus, it is shown that there are no rigid Gorenstein Artinian algebras and rigid almost complete intersections. The proof of the latter statement is based on the properties of the torsion functors. More precisely, the tensor product of the conormal and canonical modules of the corresponding Artinian algebra is calculated. In this case, the homology and cohomology groups of higher degrees are also found. Among other things, some estimates are obtained for the dimension of the spaces of the first lower and upper cotangent functors of Artinian algebras, and the relationship between them is described. In conclusion, several examples of nonsmoothable Artinian noncomplete intersections are examined, and some unusual properties of such algebras are discussed.

Abstract:In this paper we study cohomology and deformations of Jacobi-Jordan algebras. We develop their formal deformation theory. In particular, we introduce a method to construct a versal deformation for a given Jacobi-Jordan algebra, which can induce all deformations and is unique on the infinitesimal level. We construct formal 1-parameter deformations of Jacobi-Jordan algebras up to dimension 5 and versal deformations for 3-dimensional Jacobi-Jordan algebras.

Deformation families of Novikov bialgebras via differential antisymmetric infinitesimal bialgebras

Abstract:Generalizing S. Gelfand's classical construction of a Novikov algebra from a commutative differential algebra, a deformation family $(A,\circ_q)$, for scalars $q$, of Novikov algebras is constructed from what we call an admissible commutative differential algebra, by adding a second linear operator to the commutative differential algebra with certain admissibility condition. The case of $(A,\circ_0)$ recovers the construction of S. Gelfand. This admissibility condition also ensures a bialgebra theory of commutative differential algebras, enriching the antisymmetric infinitesimal bialgebra. This way, a deformation family of Novikov bialgebras is obtained, under the further condition that the two operators are bialgebra derivations. As a special case, we obtain a bialgebra variation of S. Gelfand's construction with an interesting twist: every commutative and cocommutative differential antisymmetric infinitesimal bialgebra gives rise to a Novikov bialgebra whose underlying Novikov algebra is $(A,\circ_{-\frac{1}{2}})$ instead of $(A,\circ_0)$. The close relations of the classical bialgebra theories with Manin triples, classical Yang-Baxter type equations, $\mathcal{O}$-operators, and pre-structures are expanded to the two new bialgebra theories, in a way that is compatible with the just established connection between the two bialgebras. As an application, Novikov bialgebras are obtained from admissible differential Zinbiel algebras.
