Abstract:An efficient and practical method for the synthesis of C(sp3)‐sulfonylation isoindolinones utilizing various γ‐hydroxy lactams and sulfonic nucleophiles through the sulfonylation reaction promoted by BF3⋅OEt2 has been developed. The prominent features of the present strategy are mild conditions, fast reaction rates, wide substrate scope, high atom economy, easy handling and excellent yields (up to 97 % yield). An efficient boron Lewis acids mediated sulfonylation reaction has been successfully developed for the synthesis of C(sp3)‐sulfonylation isoindolinones, utilizing various γ‐hydroxy lactams and sulfonic nucleophile. The prominent features of the present strategy include wide substrate scope, excellent group tolerability, high atom economy, and moderate to good yields (up to 97 % yield).
