Abstract:Topological gyrogroups, with a weaker algebraic structure without associative law, have been investigated recently. We prove that each $T_{0}$-strongly topological gyrogroup is completely regular. We also prove that every $T_{0}$-strongly topological gyrogroup with a countable pseudocharacter is submetrizable. Finally, we prove that the left coset space $G/H$ is submetrizable if $H$ is an admissible $L$-subgyrogroup of a $T_{0}$-strongly topological gyrogroup $G$.

Abstract:A discrete subset $S$ of a topological gyrogroup $G$ with the identity $0$ is said to be a {\it suitable set} for $G$ if it generates a dense subgyrogroup of $G$ and $S\cup \{0\}$ is closed in $G$. In this paper, it was proved that each countable Hausdorff topological gyrogroup has a suitable set; moreover, it is shown that each separable metrizable strongly topological gyrogroup has a suitable set.

Abstract:Separability is one of the most basic and important topological properties. In this paper, the separability in (strongly) topological gyrogroups is studied. It is proved that every first-countable left ?-narrow strongly topological gyrogroup is separable. Furthermore, it is shown that if a feathered strongly topological gyrogroup G is isomorphic to a subgyrogroup of a separable strongly topological gyrogroup, then G is separable. Therefore, if a metrizable strongly topological gyrogroup G is isomorphic to a subgyrogroup of a separable strongly topological gyrogroup, then G is separable, and if a locally compact strongly topological gyrogroup G is isomorphic to a subgyrogroup of a separable strongly topological gyrogroup, then G is separable.

Abstract:Topological gyrogroups, with a weaker algebraic structure than groups, have been investigated recently. In this paper, we prove that every feathered strongly topological gyrogroup is paracompact, which implies that every feathered strongly topological gyrogroup is a $D$-space and gives partial answers to two questions posed by <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://A.V.Arhangel" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>' ski\vı~(2010) in \cite{AA1}. Moreover, we prove that every locally compact $NSS$-gyrogroup is first-countable. Finally, we prove that each Lindelöf $P$-gyrogroup is Ra$\check{\imath}$kov complete.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the continuity of the inverse in (strongly) paratopological gyrogroups. The conclusions are established as follows: (1) A compact Hausdorff paratopological gyrogroup $G$ is a topological gyrogroup. (2) A Hausdorff locally compact strongly paratopological gyrogroup is a topological gyrogroup. (3) If $G$ is locally compact strongly paratopological gyrocommutative gyrogroup (without any separation restrictions), then $G$ is a strongly topological gyrogroup. (4) Every regular feebly compact strongly paratopological gyrogroup is a topological gyrogroup. (5) If a Hausdorff strongly paratopological gyrogroup $G$ is countablly compact and topologically periodic, then $G$ is a strongly topological gyrogroup.

Abstract:A space $X$ is submaximal if any dense subset of $X$ is open. In this paper, we prove that every submaximal topological gyrogroup of non-measurable cardinality is strongly $\sigma$-discrete. Moreover, we prove that every submaximal strongly topological gyrogroup of non-measurable cardinality is hereditarily paracompact.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly investigate the quotient spaces G/H when G is a strongly topological gyrogroup and H is a strong subgyrogroup of G. It is shown that if G is a strongly topological gyrogroup, H is a closed strong subgyrogroup of G and H is inner neutral, then the quotient space G/H is first-countable if and only if G/H is a bisequential space if and only if G/H is a weakly first-countable space if and only if G/H is a csf-countable and sequential a7-space. Moreover, it is shown that if H is a locally compact metrizable strong subgyrogroup of G and the quotient space G/H is sequential, then G is also sequential; if H is a closed first-countable and separable strong subgyrogroup of G, the quotient space G/H is a cosmic space, then G is also a cosmic space; if the quotient space G/H has a star-countable cs-network or star-countable wcs*-network, then G also has a star-countable cs-network or star-countable wcs*-network, respectively.

Abstract:Topological gyrogroups, with a weaker algebraic structure than groups, were investigated lately. In this paper, to begin with, it is shown that every first-countable Hausdorff topological gyrogroup is metrizable, which gives an affirmative answer to an open question. Next, paratopological loops are introduced. Some convergence phenomena and the property of being an $\aleph $-space in paratopological loops are discussed, which improves some known conclusions. Finally, a few questions about paratopological loops are posed.

Abstract:We show that the fundamental groupoid~$\Pi_1(X)$ of a locally path connected semilocally simply connected space~$X$ can be equipped with a \emph{natural} topology so that it becomes a topological groupoid; we also justify the necessity and minimality of these two hypotheses on~$X$ in order to topologise the fundamental groupoid. We find that contrary to a belief -- especially among the Operator Algebraists -- the fundamental groupoid is not {\etale}. Further, we prove that the fundamental groupoid of a topological group, in particular a Lie group, is a \emph{transformation groupoid}; again, this result disproves a standard belief that the fundamental groupoids are \emph{far} away from being transformation groupoids. We also discuss the point-set topology on the fundamental groupoid with the intention of making it a locally compact groupoid.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a topological group and let $K,L\subseteq G$ be closed subgroups, with $K\subseteq L$. We prove that if $L$ is a locally compact pro-Lie group, then the map $q:G/K\to G/L$ is a fibration. As an application of this, we obtain two older results by Skljarenko, Madison and Mostert.

Abstract:Suppose that $(T,\star)$ is a groupoid with a left identity such that each element $a\in T$ has a left inverse. Then $T$ is called a \textit{gyrogroup} if and only if $(i)$ there exists a function $gyr:T\times T\longrightarrow Aut(T)$ such that for all $a,b,c\in T$, $a\star(b\star c)= (a\star b)\star gyr[a,b]c$, where $gyr[a,b]c=gyr(a,b)(c)$; and $(ii)$ for all $a,b\in T$, $gyr[a,b]=gyr[a\star b,b]$. In this paper, the structure of normal subgyrogroups of certain gyrogroups are investigated.

Abstract:A topological group H is called absolutely C-embedded if H is C-embedded into every topological group containing H as a subgroup. It is shown that a left uniformly continuous real-valued function on a subgroup of a topological group G can extend to a continuous function on G. Therefore, fine groups are absolutely C-embedded. We also prove that a CM-factorizable groups is absolutely C-embedded. Additionally, we explore the factorizability of absolutely C-embedded groups and establish that an absolutely C-embedded group G is R-factorizable if and only if G is an ω-narrow group. We also show that a non-metrizable absolutely C-embedded group G is M-factorizable if and only if G is τ-precompact, where τ=Fi(G).

Abstract:We study the topological structure of the automorphism groups of compact quantum groups showing that, in parallel to a classical result due to Iwasawa, the connected component of identity of the automorphism group and of the “inner” automorphism group coincide. For compact matrix quantum groups, which can be thought of as quantum analogues of compact Lie groups, we prove that the inner automorphism group is a compact Lie group and the outer automorphism group is discrete. Applications of this to the study of group actions on compact quantum groups are highlighted. We end by providing examples of compact matrix quantum groups with infinitely-generated fusion rings, in stark contrast with the classical situation. Along the way we study the invariant theory of finite group actions on free Laurent rings and show that the rings of invariants are, in general, not finitely generated.

Successors of topologies of connected locally compact groups

Abstract:Let $G$ be a group and $\sigma, \tau$ be topological group topologies on $G$. We say that $\sigma$ is a successor of $\tau$ if $\sigma$ is strictly finer than $\tau$ and there is not a group topology properly between them. In this note, we explore the existence of successor topologies in topological groups, particularly focusing on non-abelian connected locally compact groups. Our main contributions are twofold: for a connected locally compact group $(G, \tau)$, we show that (1) if $(G, \tau)$ is compact, then $\tau$ has a precompact successor if and only if there exists a discontinuous homomorphism from $G$ into a simple connected compact group with dense image, and (2) if $G$ is solvable, then $\tau$ has no successors. Our work relies on the previous characterization of locally compact group topologies on abelian groups processing successors.
