Abstract:We calculate mod-p cohomology of extended powers, and their group completions which are free infinite loop spaces. We consider the cohomology of all extended powers of a space together and identify a Hopf ring structure with divided powers within which cup product structure is more readily computable than on its own. We build on our previous calculations of cohomology of symmetric groups, which are the cohomology of extended powers of a point, the well-known calculation of homology, and new results on cohomology of symmetric groups with coefficients in the sign representation. We then use this framework to understand cohomology rings of related spaces such as infinite extended powers and free infinite loop spaces. v2 typo in gradings of Theorem 2.35 corrected.

Abstract:In this paper are defined cohomology-like groups that classify loop extensions satisfying a given identity in three variables for association identities, and in two variables for the case of commutativity. It is considered a large amount of identities. This groups generalize those defined in works of Nishigori [2] and of Jhonson and Leedham-Green [4]. It is computed the number of metacyclic extensions for trivial action of the quotient on the kernel in one particular case for left Bol loops and in general for commutative loops.

Abstract:We give a Orlik-Solomon type presentation for the cohomology ring of arrangements in a non-compact abelian Lie group. The new insight consists in comparing arrangements in different abelian groups. Our work is based on the Varchenko-Gelfand ring for real hyperplane arrangements and from that we deduce the cohomology rings of all other abelian arrangements. As by-product, we obtain a new proof of the Orlik-Solomon relations and De Concini-Procesi ones.

Abstract:We consider quotients of complete flag manifolds in Cn and Rn by an action of the symmetric group on n objects. We compute their cohomology with field coefficients of any characteristic. Specifically, we show that these topological spaces exhibit homological stability and we provide a closed-form description of their stable cohomology rings. We also describe a simple algorithmic procedure to determine their unstable cohomology additively.

Abstract:We initiate a systematic study on the cohomology rings of the moduli stack $\mathfrak{M}_{d,\chi}$ of semistable one-dimensional sheaves on the projective plane. We introduce a set of tautological relations of geometric origin, including Mumford-type relations, and prove that their ideal is generated by certain primitive relations via the Virasoro operators. Using BPS integrality and the computational efficiency of Virasoro operators, we show that our geometric relations completely determine the cohomology rings of the moduli stacks up to degree 5. As an application, we verify the refined Gopakumar--Vafa/Pandharipande--Thomas correspondence for local $\mathbb{P}^2$ in degree 5. Furthermore, we propose a substantially strengthened version of the $P=C$ conjecture, originally introduced by Shen and two of the authors. This can be viewed as an analogue of the $P=W$ conjecture in a compact and Fano setting.

Abstract:We consider Lie algebroids over an algebraic space (or topological ringed space) as quasicoherent sheaves of Lie-Rinehart algebras. We express hypercohomology for a locally free Lie algebroid (not necessarily of finite rank) as a derived functor, and simplify it via Čech cohomology. Furthermore, we define the Hochschild hypercohomology of a sheaf of generalized bialgebras and study the cases of the universal enveloping algebroid and the jet algebroid of a Lie algebroid. In the sequel, we present a version of Hochschild-Kostant-Rosenberg theorem for a locally free Lie algebroid, as well as its dual version.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to apply the framework, which was developed by Sam and Snowden, to study structural properties of graph homologies, in the spirit of Ramos, Miyata and Proudfoot. Our main results concern the magnitude homology of graphs introduced by Hepworth and Willerton. More precisely, for graphs of bounded genus, we prove that magnitude cohomology, in each homological degree, has rank which grows at most polynomially in the number of vertices, and that its torsion is bounded. As a consequence, we obtain analogous results for path homology of (undirected) graphs. We complement the work with a proof that the category of planar graphs of bounded genus and marked edges, with contractions, is quasi-Gröbner.

Abstract:Inspired by work of Szymik and Wahl on the homology of Higman-Thompson groups, we establish a general connection between ample groupoids, topological full groups, algebraic K-theory spectra and infinite loop spaces, based on the construction of small permutative categories of compact open bisections. This allows us to analyse homological invariants of topological full groups in terms of homology for ample groupoids. Applications include complete rational computations, general vanishing and acyclicity results for group homology of topological full groups as well as a proof of Matui's AH-conjecture for all minimal, ample groupoids with comparison.

Cohomology operations for moment-angle complexes and resolutions of Stanley-Reisner rings

Abstract:A fundamental result in toric topology identifies the cohomology ring of the moment-angle complex $\mathcal{Z}_K$ associated to a simplicial complex $K$ with the Koszul homology of the Stanley--Reisner ring of $K$. By studying cohomology operations induced by the standard torus action on the moment-angle complex, we extend this to a topological interpretation of the minimal free resolution of the Stanley-Reisner ring. The exterior algebra module structure in cohomology induced by the torus action recovers the linear part of the minimal free resolution, and we show that higher cohomology operations induced by the action (in the sense of Goresky-Kottwitz-MacPherson) can be assembled into an explicit differential on the resolution. Describing these operations in terms of Hochster's formula, we recover and extend a result due to Katthän. We then apply all of this to study the equivariant formality of torus actions on moment-angle complexes. For these spaces, we obtain complete algebraic and combinatorial characterisations of which subtori of the naturally acting torus act equivariantly formally.

Abstract:Let $f \colon R \to B$ be a surjective homomorphism of rings with kernel $I$. Gulliksen (when $I$ is generated by a regular sequence) and later Mehta (in general) showed that for any $B$-modules $M$ and $N$, $\mathrm{Ext}_B^{\ast}(M,N)$ has a structure of graded $\mathrm{S}_B^{\ast}\left(\widehat{I/I^2}\right)$-module, where $\widehat{\quad}$ denotes dual and $\mathrm{S}$ denotes symmetric algebra. This construction is extended to the case where $f$ is not necessarily surjective in a way that allows one to regard these operators from a more natural perspective.

Abstract:We introduce new finite-dimensional cohomologies on symplectic manifolds. Each exhibits Lefschetz decomposition and contains a unique harmonic representative within each class. Associated with each cohomology is a primitive cohomology defined purely on the space of primitive forms. We identify the dual currents of lagrangians and more generally coisotropic submanifolds with elements of a primitive cohomology, which dualizes to a homology on coisotropic chains.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider compatible Hom-Leibniz algebra where the Hom map twists the operations in the compatible system. We consider a suitably graded Lie algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements characterize the structure of compatible Hom-Leibniz algebras. Using this, we study cohomology, infinitesimal deformations, the Nijenhuis operator, and their relation for compatible Hom-Leibniz algebras. Finally we see the cohomology of compatible Hom-Leibniz algebra with coefficients in an arbitrary representation.

Cyclic homology of categorical coalgebras and the free loop space

Abstract:We prove that the cyclic chain complex of the categorical coalgebra of singular chains on an arbitrary topological space $X$ is naturally quasi-isomorphic to the $S^1$-equivariant chains of the free loop space of $X$. This statement does not require any hypotheses on $X$ or on the commutative ring of coefficients. Along the way, we introduce a family of polytopes, coined as Goodwillie polytopes, that controls the combinatorics behind the relationship of the coHochschild complex of a categorical coalgebra and the Hochschild complex of its associated differential graded category.

We construct a graded Lie algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements characterize the structure of compatible Leibniz algebras. Using this, we study cohomology, infinitisimal deformations, Nijenhuis operator and their relation for compatible leibniz algebras.
