Abstract:We study differential calculus on h-deformed bosonic and fermionic quantum space. It is shown that the fermionic quantum space involves a parafermionic variable as well as a classical fermionic one. Further we construct the classical $su(2)$ algebra on the fermionic quantum space and discuss a mapping between the classical $su(2)$ and the h-deformed $su(2)$ algebras.

Abstract:We introduce a Z$_3$-graded quantum $(2+1)$-superspace and define Z$_3$-graded Hopf algebra structure on algebra of functions on the Z$_3$-graded quantum superspace. We construct a differential calculus on the Z$_3$-graded quantum superspace, and obtain the corresponding Z$_3$-graded Lie superalgebra. We also find a new Z$_3$-graded quantum supergroup which is a symmetry group of this calculus.

Abstract:This article studies the Lie algebra Der(k Gamma) of derivations on the path algebra k Gamma of a quiver Gamma and the Lie algebra on the first Hochschild cohomology group HH1(k Gamma). We relate these Lie algebras to the algebraic and combinatorial properties of the path algebra. Characterizations of derivations on a path algebra are obtained, leading to a canonical basis of Der(k Gamma) and its Lie algebra properties. Special derivations are associated to the vertices, arrows and faces of a quiver, and the concepts of a connected matrix and boundary matrix are introduced to study the relations among these derivations, concluding that the space of edge derivations is the direct sum of the spaces of the vertex derivations and the face derivations, while the dimensions of the latter spaces are the largest possible. By taking dimensions, this relation among spaces of derivations recovers Euler's polyhedron formula. This relation also leads a combinatorial construction of a canonical basis of the Lie algebra HH1(k Gamma), together with a semidirect sum decomposition of H1(k Gamma).

Abstract:The differential geometry on a Hopf algebra is constructed, by using the basic axioms of Hopf algebras and noncommutative differential geometry. The space of generalized derivations on a Hopf algebra of functions is presented via the smash product, and used to define and discuss quantum Lie algebras and their properties. The Cartan calculus of the exterior derivative, Lie derivative, and inner derivation is found for both the universal and general differential calculi of an arbitrary Hopf algebra, and, by restricting to the quasitriangular case and using the numerical R-matrix formalism, the aforementioned structures for quantum groups are determined.

Abstract:This paper addresses a new approach to find a spectrum of information measures for the process of digital circuit synthesis. We consider the problem from the information engine point of view. The circuit synthesis as a whole and different steps of the design process (an example of decision diagram is given) are presented via such measurements as entropy, logical work and information vitality. We also introduce new information measures to provide better estimates of synthesis criteria. We show that the basic properties of information engine, such as the conservation law of information flow and the equilibrium law of information can be formulated.

Abstract:We investigate the superalgebra of derivations generated by the fundamental forms on manifolds with reduced structure group. In particular, we point out a relation between the algebra of derivations of heterotic geometries that admit Killing spinors and the commutator algebra of holonomy symmetries in sigma models. We use this to propose a Lie bracket on the space of fundamental forms of all heterotic geometries with a non-compact holonomy group and present the associated derivation algebras. We also explore the extension of these results to heterotic geometries with compact holonomy groups and, more generally, to manifolds with reduced structure group. A brief review of the classification of heterotic geometries that admit Killing spinors and an extension of this classification to some heterotic inspired geometries are also included.

Differential geometry using quaternions

Abstract:This paper establishes the basis of the quaternionic differential geometry ($\mathbbm H$DG) initiated in a previous article. The usual concepts of curves and surfaces are generalized to quaternionic constraints, as well as the curvature and torsion concepts, differential forms, directional derivatives and the structural equations. The analogy between the quaternionic and the real geometries is obtained using a matrix representation of quaternions. The results evidences the quaternionic formalism as a suitable language to differential geometry that can be useful in various directions of future investigation.

Abstract:We present a classification of the possible quantum deformations of the supergroup $GL(1|1)$ and its Lie superalgebra $gl(1|1)$. In each case, the (super)commutation relations and the Hopf structures are explicitly computed. For each $R$ matrix, one finds two inequivalent coproducts whether one chooses an unbraided or a braided framework while the corresponding structures are isomorphic as algebras. In the braided case, one recovers the classical algebra $gl(1|1)$ for suitable limits of the deformation parameters but this is no longer true in the unbraided case.

Abstract:On a one-dimensional lattice without uniform interval, the Hermitian conjugation of a q-differential operator is discussed. Then a deformation of quantum mechanics in one dimension is presented. As an application, the harmonic oscillator is discussed. The energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions are shown to depend on an arbitrary deformation function. The deformed coherent states are also discussed. It is found that the completeness relation of coherent states holds for the case of q-coherent states, i.e. the deformation of the Heisenberg-Weyl algebra is a q-analogue Hopf algebra.

Abstract:In a series of publications we developed “differential geometry” on discrete sets based on concepts of noncommutative geometry. In particular, it turned out that first-order differential calculi (over the algebra of functions) on a discrete set are in bijective correspondence with digraph structures where the vertices are given by the elements of the set. A particular class of digraphs are Cayley graphs, also known as group lattices. They are determined by a discrete group G and a finite subset S. There is a distinguished subclass of “bicovariant” Cayley graphs with the property ad(S)S⊂S. We explore the properties of differential calculi which arise from Cayley graphs via the above correspondence. The first-order calculi extend to higher orders and then allow us to introduce further differential geometric structures. Furthermore, we explore the properties of “discrete” vector fields which describe deterministic flows on group lattices. A Lie derivative with respect to a discrete vector field and an inner product with forms is defined. The Lie–Cartan identity then holds on all forms for a certain subclass of discrete vector fields. We develop elements of gauge theory and construct an analog of the lattice gauge theory (Yang–Mills) action on an arbitrary group lattice. Also linear connections are considered and a simple geometric interpretation of the torsion is established. By taking a quotient with respect to some subgroup of the discrete group, generalized differential calculi associated with so-called Schreier diagrams are obtained.

Noncommutative differential geometry on crossed product algebras

Abstract:We provide a differential structure on arbitrary cleft extensions $B:=A^{\mathrm{co}H}\subseteq A$ for an $H$-comodule algebra $A$. This is achieved by constructing a covariant calculus on the corresponding crossed product algebra $B\#_\sigma H$ from the data of a bicovariant calculus on the structure Hopf algebra $H$ and a calculus on the base algebra $B$, which is compatible with the $2$-cocycle and measure of the crossed product. The result is a quantum principal bundle with canonical strong connection and we describe the induced bimodule covariant derivatives on associated bundles of the crossed product. It is proven that connections of the quantum principal bundle are in bijection with connection $1$-forms. All results specialize to trivial extensions and smash product algebras $B\#H$ and we give a characterization of the smash product calculus in terms of the differentials of the cleaving map $j\colon H\to A$ and the inclusion $B\hookrightarrow A$. The construction is exemplified for pointed Hopf algebras. In particular, the case of Radford Hopf algebras $H_{(r,n,q)}$ is spelled out in detail.

Abstract:We calculate the derivations and the first Hochschild cohomology group of the quantum grassmannian over a field of characteristic zero in the generic case when the deformation parameter is not a root of unity. Using graded techniques and two special homogeneous normal elements of the quantum grassmannian, we reduce the problem to computing derivations of the quantum grassmannian that act trivially on these two normal elements. We then use the dehomogenisation equality which shows that a localisation of the quantum grassmannian is equal to a skew Laurent extension of quantum matrices. This equality is used to connect derivations of the quantum grassmannian with those of quantum matrices. More precisely, again using graded techniques, we show that derivations of the quantum grassmannian that act trivially on our two normal elements restrict to homogeneous derivations of quantum matrices. The derivations of quantum matrices are known in the square case and technical details needed to deal with the general case are given in an appendix. This allows us to explicitly describe the first Hochschild cohomology group of the quantum grassmannian.

Abstract:The q-deformed differential calculus is proposed and analysed in the framework of quantum plane. The q-deformed differential operator algebra is investigated and applied in the investigation of the quantum group SUq(2) and its representations. The generalization to n-dimensional differential calculus is made and shown to be a new solution to quantum plane by providing a new solution of the Yang-Baxter equation.

Abstract:Deforming the algebraic structure of geometric algebra on the phase space with a Moyal product leads naturally to supersymmetric quantum mechanics in the star product formalism.
