Abstract:On a one-dimensional lattice without uniform interval, the Hermitian conjugation of a q-differential operator is discussed. Then a deformation of quantum mechanics in one dimension is presented. As an application, the harmonic oscillator is discussed. The energy spectrum and the eigenfunctions are shown to depend on an arbitrary deformation function. The deformed coherent states are also discussed. It is found that the completeness relation of coherent states holds for the case of q-coherent states, i.e. the deformation of the Heisenberg-Weyl algebra is a q-analogue Hopf algebra.

Abstract:The q-deformed differential calculus is proposed and analysed in the framework of quantum plane. The q-deformed differential operator algebra is investigated and applied in the investigation of the quantum group SUq(2) and its representations. The generalization to n-dimensional differential calculus is made and shown to be a new solution to quantum plane by providing a new solution of the Yang-Baxter equation.

Abstract:We introduce a Z$_3$-graded quantum $(2+1)$-superspace and define Z$_3$-graded Hopf algebra structure on algebra of functions on the Z$_3$-graded quantum superspace. We construct a differential calculus on the Z$_3$-graded quantum superspace, and obtain the corresponding Z$_3$-graded Lie superalgebra. We also find a new Z$_3$-graded quantum supergroup which is a symmetry group of this calculus.

Abstract:The study of $\psi-$hyperholomorphic functions defined on domains in $\mathbb R^4$ with values in $\mathbb H$, namely null-solutions of the $\psi-$Fueter operator, is a topic which captured great interest in quaternionic analysis. This class of functions is more general than that of Fueter regular functions. In the setting of $(q,q')-$calculus, also known as post quantum calculus, we introduce a deformation of the $\psi-$Fueter operator written in terms of suitable difference operators, which reduces to a deformed $q$ calculus when $q'=1$. We also prove the Stokes and Borel-Pompeiu formulas in this context. This work is the first investigation of results in quaternionic analysis in the setting of the $(q,q')-$calculus theory.

Abstract:We propose a sheaf-theoretic approach to the theory of differential calculi on quantum principal bundles over non-affine bases. After recalling the affine case we define differential calculi on sheaves of comodule algebras as sheaves of covariant bimodules together with a morphism of sheaves -the differential- such that the Leibniz rule and surjectivity hold locally. The main class of examples is given by covariant calculi over quantum flag manifolds, which we provide via an explicit Ore extension construction. In a second step we introduce principal covariant calculi by requiring a local compatibility of the calculi on the total sheaf, base sheaf and the structure Hopf algebra in terms of exact sequences. In this case Hopf–Galois extensions of algebras lift to Hopf–Galois extensions of exterior algebras with compatible differentials. In particular, the examples of principal (covariant) calculi on the quantum principal bundles and over the projective space are discussed in detail.

Abstract:In this thesis we study the Durdevic theory of differential calculi on quantum principal bundles within the domain of noncommutative geometry. Throughout the exposition, an algebraic approach based on Hopf algebras is employed. We begin by briefly recalling the foundational concepts of Hopf algebras and comodule algebras. Hopf-Galois extensions are introduced, along with an important correspondence result which relates crossed product algebras and cleft extensions. Differential calculus over algebras is reviewed, with a particular focus on the covariant case. The Durdevic theory is presented in a modern language. We compare this theory to existing literature on the topic. We extend the Durdevic theory and provide explicit realisations of quantum principal bundles and complete differential calculi on the noncommutative algebraic 2-torus, the quantum Hopf fibration and on crossed product algebras, resulting in an original contribution within this thesis.

Abstract:We develop the description of non-commutative geometry of the 4-dimensional quantum Hall fluid's theory proposed recently by Zhang and Hu. The non-commutative structure of fuzzy S4, which is the base of the bundle S7 obtained by the second Hopf fibration, i.e., S7/S3=S4, appears naturally in this theory. The fuzzy monopole harmonics, which are the essential elements in the non-commutative algebra of functions on S4, are explicitly constructed and their obeying the matrix algebra is obtained. This matrix algebra is associative. We also propose a fusion scheme of the fuzzy monopole harmonics of the coupling system from those of the subsystems, and determine the fusion rule in such fusion scheme. By products, we provide some essential ingredients of the theory of SO(5) angular momentum. In particular, the explicit expression of the coupling coefficients, in the theory of SO(5) angular momentum, are given. We also discuss some possible applications of our results to the 4-dimensional quantum Hall system and the matrix brane construction in M-theory.

Abstract:It is shown that the complex Bernoulli differential equations admitting the supplementary structure of a Lie-Hamilton system related to the book algebra $\mathfrak{b}_2$ can always be solved by quadratures, providing an explicit solution of the equations. In addition, considering the quantum deformation of Bernoulli equations, their canonical form is obtained and an exact solution by quadratures is deduced as well. It is further shown that the approximations of $k^{th}$-order in the deformation parameter from the quantum deformation are also integrable by quadratures, although an explicit solution cannot be obtained in general. Finally, the multidimensional quantum deformation of the book Lie-Hamilton systems is studied, showing that, in contrast to the multidimensional analogue of the undeformed system, the resulting system is coupled in a non-trivial form.

Abstract:We show that the standard Heisenberg algebra of quantum mechanics admits a noncommutative differential calculus Ω1 depending on the Hamiltonian p2/2m + V(x), and a flat quantum connection ∇ with torsion such that a previous quantum-geometric formulation of flow along autoparallel curves (or “geodesics”) is exactly Schrödinger’s equation. The connection ∇ preserves a non-symmetric quantum metric given by the canonical symplectic structure lifted to a rank (0, 2) tensor on the extended phase space where we adjoin a time variable. We also apply the same approach to obtain a novel flow generated by the Klein–Gordon operator on Minkowski spacetime with a background electromagnetic field, by formulating quantum “geodesics” on the relativistic Heisenberg algebra with proper time for the external geodesic parameter. Examples include quantum geodesics that look like a relativistic free particle wave packet and a hydrogen-like atom.

Abstract:We derive new holonomic q-difference equations for the matrix coefficients of the products of intertwining operators for quantum affine algebra U(q)(g) representations of level k. We study the connection operators between the solutions with different asymptotics and show that they are given by products of elliptic theta functions. We prove that the connection operators automatically provide elliptic solutions of Yang-Baxter equations in the "face" formulation for any type of Lie algebra g and arbitrary finite-dimensional representations of U(q)(g). We conjecture that these solutions of the Yang-Baxter equations cover all elliptic solutions known in the contexts of IRF models of statistical mechanics. We also conjecture that in a special limit when q --> 1 these solutions degenerate again into U(q')(g) solutions with q' = exp[GRAPHICS]We also study the simplest examples of solutions of our holonomic difference equations associated to U(q)(sl(2)) and find their expressions in terms of basic (or q-)-hypergeometric series. In the special case of spin -1/2 representations, we demonstrate that the connection matrix yields a famous Baxter solution of the Yang-Baxter equation corresponding to the solid-on-solid model of statistical mechanics.
Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics on a noncommutative plane through the lens of deformation quantization

Abstract:A gauge invariant mathematical formalism based on deformation quantization is outlined to model an $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric system of a spin $1/2$ charged particle placed in a nocommutative plane under the influence of a vertical uniform magnetic field. The noncommutative involutive algebra $(C^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{2})[[\vartheta]],*^r)$ of formal power series in $\vartheta$ with coefficients in the commutative ring $C^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{2})$ was employed to construct the relevant observables, viz., SUSY Hamiltonian $H$, supercharge operator $Q$ and its adjoint $Q^†$ all belonging to the $2\times 2$ matrix algebra $\mathcal{M}_{2}(C^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{2})[[\vartheta]],*^r)$ with the help of a family of gauge-equivalent star products $*^{r}$. The energy eigenvalues of the SUSY Hamiltonian all turned out to be independent of not only the gauge parameter $r$ but also the noncommutativity parameter $\vartheta$. The nontrivial Fermionic ground state was subsequently computed associated with the zero energy which indicates that supersymmetry remains unbroken in all orders of $\vartheta$. The Witten index for the noncommutative SUSY Landau problem turns out to be $-1$ corroborating the fact that there is no broken supersymmetry for the model we are considering.

Abstract:We show that the algebra $D_\hbar(SL_n/U)$ of differential operators on the base affine space of $SL_n$ is the quantized Coulomb branch of a certain 3d $\mathcal{N} = 4$ quiver gauge theory. In the semiclassical limit this proves a conjecture of Dancer-Hanany-Kirwan about the universal hyperkähler implosion of $SL_n$. We also formulate and prove a generalization identifying the Hamiltonian reduction of $T^* SL_n$ with respect to an arbitrary unipotent character as a Coulomb branch. As an application of our results, we provide a new interpretation of the Gelfand-Graev symmetric group action on $D_\hbar(SL_n/U)$.

Abstract:I extend the three-dimensional q-deformed Euclidean space by a time element and discuss the algebraic structure of this quantum space together with its differential calculi. Using the star-product formalism, I will give basic operations of q-deformed analysis for the q-deformed Euclidean space with a time element. I show that the time-evolution operator of a quantum system living in the q-deformed Euclidean space is of the same form as in the undeformed case. The reasonings also show that the well-known methods of quantum dynamics apply to quantum systems living in the q-deformed Euclidean space.

Abstract:We define quantum exterior product wedge_h and quantum exterior differential d_h on Poisson manifolds, of which symplectic manifolds are an important class of examples. Quantum de Rham cohomology is defined as the cohomology of d_h. We also define quantum Dolbeault cohomology. Quantum hard Lefschetz theorem is proved. We also define a version of quantum integral, and prove the quantum Stokes theorem. By the trick of replacing d by d_h and wedge by wedge_h in the usual definitions, we define many quantum analogues of important objects in differential geometry, e.g. quantum curvature. The quantum characteristic classes are then studied along the lines of classical Chern-Weil theory, i.e., they can be represented by expressions of quantum curvature. Quantum equivariant de Rham cohomology is defined in a similar fashion. Calculations are done for some examples, which show that quantum de Rham cohomology is different from the quantum cohomology defined using pseudo-holomorphic curves.
On the Quantum Metaplectic Howe Duality

Abstract:We establish a quantum analogue of the classical metaplectic Howe duality involving the pair of Lie algebras $(\mathfrak{sp}_{2n},\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ in the case when $n=1$. Our results yield commuting representations of the pair of Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum groups $(\mathcal U_{q^2}(\mathfrak{sl}_2),\mathcal U_{q}(\mathfrak{sl}_2))$ realized in a suitable algebra of $q$-differential operators acting on the space of symplectic polynomial spinors. We obtain $q$-analogues for the symplectic Dirac operator, the Fischer decomposition, the expression for the symplectic polynomial monogenics and for the projection operators onto the monogenics. We also discuss $q$-analogues of generalized symmetries of the $q$-symplectic Dirac operator raising the homogeneous polynomial degree.

Abstract:Classification of differential forms on $\kappa$-Minkowski space, particularly, the classification of all bicovariant differential calculi of classical dimension is presented. By imposing super-Jacobi identities we derive all possible differential algebras compatible with the $\kappa$-Minkowski algebra for time-like, space-like and light-like deformations. Embedding into the super-Heisenberg algebra is constructed using non-commutative (NC) coordinates and one-forms. Particularly, a class of differential calculi with an undeformed exterior derivative and one-forms is considered. Corresponding NC differential calculi are elaborated. Related class of new Drinfeld twists is proposed. It contains twist leading to $\kappa$-Poincaré Hopf algebra for light-like deformation. Corresponding super-algebra and deformed super-Hopf algebras, as well as the symmetries of differential algebras are presented and elaborated. Using the NC differential calculus, we analyze NC field theory, modified dispersion relations, and discuss further physical applications.

Abstract:It is well known that noncommutative geometry naturally emerges in the quantum Hall states due to the presence of strong and constant magnetic fields. Here, we discuss the underlying noncommutative geometry of quantum Hall fluids in which the magnetic fields are spatially inhomogenoeus. We analyze these cases by employing symplectic geometry and Fedosov's deformation quantization, which rely on symplectic connections and Fedosov star-product. Through this formalism, we unveil some new features concerning the static limit of the Haldane's unimodular metric and the Girvin-MacDonald-Platzman algebra of the density operators, which plays a central role in the fractional quantum Hall effect.

Abstract:The notion of double Lie algebroid was defined by M. Van den Bergh and was illustrated by the double quasi Poisson case. We give new examples of double Lie algebroids and develop a differential calculus in that context. We recover the non commutative de Rham complex and the double Poisson-Lichnerowicz cohomology (Pichereau-vanWeyer) as particular cases of our construction.
