Abstract:In this paper is to extend the Cheeger-Colding Theory to the class of conic Kahler-Einstein metrics. This extension provides a technical tool for [LTW] in which we prove a version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for Fano varieties with certain singularity.

Abstract:In this paper we extend the Cheeger–Colding–Tian theory to the conic Kahler–Einstein metrics. In general, there are no smooth approximations of a family of conic Kahler–Einstein metrics with Ricci curvature uniformly bounded from below. So we have to deal with the technical issues to extend the original arguments.

Abstract:We prove the Yau-Tian-Donaldson conjecture for anyDOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Q-Fano variety that has a log smooth resolution of singularities such that a negative linear combination of exceptional divisors is relatively ample and the discrepancies of all exceptional divisors are nonpositive. Abstract:In this paper, we explore the limit structure of a sequence of Riemannian manifolds with Bakry-Émery Ricci curvature bounded below in the Gromov-Hausdorff topology. By extending the techniques established by Cheeger-Cloding for Riemannian manifolds with Ricci curvature bounded below, we prove that each tangent space at a point of the limit space is a metric cone. We also analyze the singular structure of the limit space analogous to a work of Cheeger-Colding-Tian. Our results will be applied to study the limit space of a sequence of Kähler metrics arising from solutions of certain complex Monge-Ampère equations for the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons on a Fano manifold via the continuity method.
Conical Kähler–Einstein Metrics Revisited

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the “interpolation–degeneration” strategy to study Kähler–Einstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By “interpolation” we show the angles in (0, 2π] that admit a conical Kähler–Einstein metric form a connected interval, and by “degeneration” we determine the boundary of the interval in some important cases. As a first application, we show that there exists a Kähler–Einstein metric on ${\mathbb{P}^2}$ with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (π/2, 2π]. When the angle is 2π/3 this proves the existence of a Sasaki–Einstein metric on the link of a three dimensional A 2 singularity, and thus answers a question posed by Gauntlett–Martelli–Sparks–Yau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldson’s conjecture about conical Kähler–Einstein metrics in the toric case using Song–Wang’s recent existence result of toric invariant conical Kähler–Einstein metrics.

Abstract:These are related, because the ideas involved in (1) form one of the main foundations for (2). More precisely, the proof of the Yau conjecture relies on an extension of the partial C estimate to metrics with conic singularities. Gang Tian has made claims to credit for these results. The purpose of this document is to rebut these claims on the grounds of originality, priority and correctness of the mathematical arguments. We acknowledge Tian’s many contributions to this field in the past and, partly for this reason, we have avoided raising our objections publicly over the last 15 months, but it seems now that this is the course we have to take in order to document the facts. In addition, this seems to us the responsible action to take and one we owe to our colleagues, especially those affected by these developments.

Abstract:This is the third and final article in a series which prove the fact that a K-stable Fano manifold admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. In this paper we consider the Gromov-Hausdorff limits of metrics with cone singularities in the case when the limiting cone angle approaches 2 π \pi . Abstract: This is the second of a series of three papers which provide proofs of results announced in arXiv:1210.7494. In this paper we consider the Gromov-Hausdorff limits of metrics with cone singularities in the case when the limiting cone angle is less than 2\pi. We show that these are in a natrual way projective algebraic varieties. In the case when the limiting variety and the limiting divisor are smooth we show that the limiting metric also has standard cone singularities.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a Fano manifold of dimension at least $2$ and $D$ be a smooth divisor in a multiple of the anticanonical class, $\frac1\alpha(-K_X)$ with $\alpha>1$. It is well-known that Kähler-Einstein metrics on $X$ with conic singularities along $D$ may exist only if the angle $2\pi\beta$ is bigger than some positive limit value $2\pi\beta_*$. Under the hypothesis that the automorphisms of $D$ are induced by the automorphisms of the pair $(X,D)$, we prove that for $\beta>\beta_*$ close enough to $\beta_*$, such Kähler-Einstein metrics do exist. We identify the limits at various scales when $\beta\rightarrow\beta_*$ and, in particular, we exhibit the appearance of the Tian-Yau metric of $X\setminus D$.

Abstract:It is a long-standing problem to establish the existence of Kähler- Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds since Yau’s solution for the Calabi conjecture in late 70s. It is also one of driving forces in today’s study in Kähler geometry. In this paper, we discuss a program I started more than twenty years ago on this famous problem. It includes some of my results and speculations on the existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds, such as, holomorphic invariants, the K-stability, the compactness theorem for Kähler- Einstein manifolds, the partial CO-estimates and their variations. I will also discuss some related problems as well as some recent advances.

Abstract:We prove the Yau-Tian-Donaldson's conjecture for any $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety that has a log smooth resolution of singularities such that the discrepancies of all exceptional divisors are non-positive. In other words, if such a Fano variety is K-polystable, then it admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. This extends the previous result for smooth Fano varieties to this class of singular $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano varieties, which include those admitting crepant log resolutions.

Abstract:We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric on a K-stable Fano manifold using the recent compactness result on Kahler-Ricci flows. The key ingredient is an algebro-geometric description of the asymptotic behavior of Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. This is in turn based on a general finite dimensional discussion, which is interesting in its own and could potentially apply to other problems. As one application, we relate the asymptotics of the Calabi flow on a polarized Kahler manifold to K-stability assuming bounds on geometry.

Abstract:We generalize a theorem of Bismut–Zhang, which extends the Cheeger–Müller theorem on Ray–Singer torsion and Reidemeister torsion, to the case of infinite Galois covering spaces. Our result is stated in the framework of extended cohomology, and generalizes in this case a recent result of Braverman–Carey–Farber–Mathai. It does not use the determinant class condition and thus also (potentially) generalizes several results on L2-torsions due to Burghelea, Friedlander, Kappeler and McDonald. We combine the framework developed by Braverman–Carey–Farber–Mathai on the determinant of extended cohomology with the heat kernel method developed in the original paper of Bismut–Zhang to prove our result.

Abstract:We discover a “no semistability at infinity” phenomenon for complete Calabi-Yau metrics asymptotic to cones, which is proved by eliminating the possible appearance of an intermediate K-semistable cone in the 2-step degeneration theory developed by Donaldson and the first author. It is in sharp contrast to the setting of local singularities of Kähler-Einstein metrics. A byproduct of the proof is a polynomial convergence rate to the asymptotic cone for such manifolds, which bridges the gap between the general theory of Colding-Minicozzi and the classification results of Conlon-Hein.

Abstract:In this paper, we give an alternative proof for the convergence of Kähler-Ricci flow on a Fano mnaifold $(M,J)$. This proof differs from that in [TZ3]. Moreover, we generalize the main theorem of [TZ3] to the case that $(M,J)$ may not admit any Kähler-Einstein metrics.
