Abstract:In this paper we extend the Cheeger–Colding–Tian theory to the conic Kahler–Einstein metrics. In general, there are no smooth approximations of a family of conic Kahler–Einstein metrics with Ricci curvature uniformly bounded from below. Abstract:It is a long-standing problem to establish the existence of Kähler- Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds since Yau’s solution for the Calabi conjecture in late 70s. It is also one of driving forces in today’s study in Kähler geometry. In this paper, we discuss a program I started more than twenty years ago on this famous problem. It includes some of my results and speculations on the existence of Kähler-Einstein metrics on Fano manifolds, such as, holomorphic invariants, the K-stability, the compactness theorem for Kähler- Einstein manifolds, the partial CO-estimates and their variations. I will also discuss some related problems as well as some recent advances.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract: This is the second of a series of three papers which provide proofs of results announced in arXiv:1210.7494. In this paper we consider the Gromov-Hausdorff limits of metrics with cone singularities in the case when the limiting cone angle is less than 2\pi. We show that these are in a natrual way projective algebraic varieties. In the case when the limiting variety and the limiting divisor are smooth we show that the limiting metric also has standard cone singularities.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the “interpolation–degeneration” strategy to study Kähler–Einstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By “interpolation” we show the angles in (0, 2π] that admit a conical Kähler–Einstein metric form a connected interval, and by “degeneration” we determine the boundary of the interval in some important cases. As a first application, we show that there exists a Kähler–Einstein metric on ${\mathbb{P}^2}$ with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (π/2, 2π]. When the angle is 2π/3 this proves the existence of a Sasaki–Einstein metric on the link of a three dimensional A 2 singularity, and thus answers a question posed by Gauntlett–Martelli–Sparks–Yau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldson’s conjecture about conical Kähler–Einstein metrics in the toric case using Song–Wang’s recent existence result of toric invariant conical Kähler–Einstein metrics.

Abstract:We prove the Yau-Tian-Donaldson's conjecture for any $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano variety that has a log smooth resolution of singularities such that the discrepancies of all exceptional divisors are non-positive. In other words, if such a Fano variety is K-polystable, then it admits a Kähler-Einstein metric. This extends the previous result for smooth Fano varieties to this class of singular $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano varieties, which include those admitting crepant log resolutions.

Abstract:We prove the existence of Kahler-Einstein metric on a K-stable Fano manifold using the recent compactness result on Kahler-Ricci flows. The key ingredient is an algebro-geometric description of the asymptotic behavior of Kahler-Ricci flow on Fano manifolds. This is in turn based on a general finite dimensional discussion, which is interesting in its own and could potentially apply to other problems. As one application, we relate the asymptotics of the Calabi flow on a polarized Kahler manifold to K-stability assuming bounds on geometry.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a Fano manifold of dimension at least $2$ and $D$ be a smooth divisor in a multiple of the anticanonical class, $\frac1\alpha(-K_X)$ with $\alpha>1$. It is well-known that Kähler-Einstein metrics on $X$ with conic singularities along $D$ may exist only if the angle $2\pi\beta$ is bigger than some positive limit value $2\pi\beta_*$. Under the hypothesis that the automorphisms of $D$ are induced by the automorphisms of the pair $(X,D)$, we prove that for $\beta>\beta_*$ close enough to $\beta_*$, such Kähler-Einstein metrics do exist. We identify the limits at various scales when $\beta\rightarrow\beta_*$ and, in particular, we exhibit the appearance of the Tian-Yau metric of $X\setminus D$.

Abstract:We discover a “no semistability at infinity” phenomenon for complete Calabi-Yau metrics asymptotic to cones, which is proved by eliminating the possible appearance of an intermediate K-semistable cone in the 2-step degeneration theory developed by Donaldson and the first author. It is in sharp contrast to the setting of local singularities of Kähler-Einstein metrics. A byproduct of the proof is a polynomial convergence rate to the asymptotic cone for such manifolds, which bridges the gap between the general theory of Colding-Minicozzi and the classification results of Conlon-Hein.
On the cone conjecture for log Calabi-Yau mirrors of Fano 3-folds

Abstract:Let $Y$ be a smooth projective $3$-fold admitting a K3 fibration $f : Y \rightarrow \mathbb{P}^1$ with $-K_Y = f^*\mathcal{O}(1)$. We show that the pseudoautomorphism group of $Y$ acts with finitely many orbits on the codimension one faces of the movable cone if $H^3(Y,\mathbb{C})=0$, confirming a special case of the Kawamata--Morrison--Totaro cone conjecture. In [CCGK16], [P18], and [CP18], the authors construct log Calabi-Yau 3-folds with K3 fibrations satisfying the hypotheses of our theorem as the mirrors of Fano 3-folds.
