Abstract:With the industry competition increasingly focused on environmental protection characteristics of products, industrial ecosystem engineering has been an important activity to enhance enterprise's competitive power. Industrial ecosystem engineering must use IEE tools. The paper sums up the IEE tools that general used in industrial ecosystem engineering activities, and divides them into four types. Then, it analyses the function and applicable scale of every tool. At last, it puts forward the system method that can use the four types of tools synthetically.

Abstract:The industrial field trip in the introduction to engineering has been integrated into the engineering education program at Hung Yen University of Technology and Education, Vietnam in 2010. The industrial field trip was organized in the early weeks of the engineering education course. Participating in an industrial field trip is a formal requirement of an engineering education program. After each course, the experience in organizing field trips is reflected and modified continuously to increase the effectiveness in the introduction to engineering for students. A process of organizing the industrial field trips has been developed to increase the effectiveness of education, which includes three main stages: (1) classroom activities to prepare for the field trip, (2) implementation of the field trip, and (3) reflections on the field trip experience. Results showed that the industrial field trips enhance the emotions of students about an engineering education field. This paper is a descriptive research, in which a case study is used to describe the experience of implementing the industrial field trips at Hung Yen University of Technology and Education.

Abstract:This research identifies the relationship between industrial engineering and environmental sustainability knowledge components. A combination of a systematic literature review (SLR) and applied thematic analysis (ATA) is employed to uncover the pertinent literature associated with the purpose of this research. Whilst various forms of strategies, theories, methods, and practices were uncovered in each of the knowledge components, only a few were overlapping. These overlapping components include green supply chain operations, circular economy, and technology management. This study is the first in a series of studies contextualising industrial engineering knowledge in terms of its applicability to environmental sustainability. These results reveal concepts from industrial engineering and environmental sustainability knowledge components that can be used to systematically design methodologies or practically implement them in an industry or organisation. Methods and practices were a dedicated theme in the analysis, and these can be used by practitioners. A circle packing diagram is crafted using the IISE Body of Knowledge as a means of categorisation. This study considered industrial engineering as a catalyst in creating new forms of transdisciplinary knowledge areas. It also considers how industrial engineering knowledge can contribute to meeting environmental challenges.

Abstract:Industrial Solution Business, shortened ISB, concentrates on the development and engineering of large-scale and complex systems. As the economy develops, ISB has taken a more and more important position in the industrial projects, especially in China where a great amount of projects are being under construction. In order to improve the engineering quality, a series of investigations have been carried out to find out the major "pain points" project managers in that area are faced with. The pain points or challenges were collected and analyzed through interviews and research, promoted through a series of questionnaires, and then shaped into a structural model. The purpose of this research is to locate the main problems and to improve industrial solution projects. This publication depicts the current work in progress especially focusing on the identified challenges in industrial solution business.

Abstract:The needs to bridge the academic skills of students involved in higher education and improve their readiness for employment in industry are being widely addressed. Most academic curricula cover the natural, technical and scientific topics of engineering in depth but lack practical engineering experience and soft skill development crucial for a successful engineering career. A novel national tender-based programme has been launched to provide students with industrial-grade experience during studies through direct cooperation between students, university staff and the industry. This paper presents results of a specific engineering project case supervised by the authors. Within the project, students got an opportunity to practice engineering skills without sacrificing the time needed for a company-based internship. During a 6-month project, a group of interdisciplinary students designed an instrument as specified by the industrial project partner. Participation in the project was optional and organised as a student’s side activity. The project was stimulating development of a range of engineering competences and soft skills among the participants. The participating students showed an above-average commitment and responsibility, fulfilling the specified project goals. The indirect measures demonstrate the positive influence of participating in the project on the career futures of the students.

Abstract:In 2016, Fusion 360, a productintroduced byAutodesk and integrating industrial design, structural design, mechanical simulation, and CAM, turns out a design platform supportingcollaboration and sharing both cross-platform and via the cloud. In previous products, design and manufacturing use to be isolated. In the course of design, research and development, the communication between designers and engineers used to go on through different software products, tool commands, and even industry terms. Moreover, difficulty also lies with the communication between design thoughts and machining strategies. Naturally, a difficult product design and R & D process would trigger a noticeable gap between the design model and the actual product. A complete product development process tends to cover several major areas, such as industrial design, mechanical design, rendering and animation, computer aided emulation (CAE), and computer aided manufacturing (CAM). Fusion 360, a perfect design solving the technical problems of cross-platform data exchange, realizes the effective control of cross-regional collaboration and presents an overview of collaboration and breaks the barriers between art and manufacturing, andblocks between design and processing. The "Eco-development of Fusion360 Industrial Chain" is both a significant means to and an inevitable trend forthe manufacturers and industrial designers to carry out innovation in China.

Abstract:While the Emerging Engineering Education is the new trend of education in China, the curriculum system of Industrial Engineering is not timely and comprehensive enough. Thus, it is necessary and urgent to attach more attention to the practical cultivation of engineering students. To address these problems better, the Industrial Engineering discipline in Huazhong University of Science and Technology proposes an internationalized educational idea based on the practice-driven innovation that an open and collaborative cultivation system throughout the overall undergraduate course should be constructed. More specifically, engineering practice and innovation education are required to be more multi-disciplinary, multi-party collaborative and student-centered to solidify the innovative talents and broaden the international vision of Industrial Engineering students. Though this exploration of talent cultivation mode of Industrial Engineering discipline in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, it is also expected to contribute to the general development and innovation of Emerging Engineering Education in China.

Abstract:The purpose and plan of cultivating engineers should meet the needs of the society. Engineers should not only know the latest developments of technology worldwide, but also listen to the voices of national enterprises. Universities and colleges have the responsibility to encourage students to experience a real engineering project, which can help students to develop technology awareness and engineering ability. The work mode of teamwork for a project can provide practice for students, adapting them to the common working modes in the society. Teachers should only be advisers, not controllers, and practical teaching base where students do their internship should offer learning possibilities. Only in this way can students obtain knowledge on their own. The enlightenment is an internal process in which knowledge turns into practical skills. The quality of an engineer can be developed only through communication and interaction as well as demonstration and imitation between teachers and students.
