Abstract:According to the present status and the needs from the developments of power systems, the research tendencies of electric load modeling are pointed out in this paper. In the aspect of area scale, load modeling is developed from node scale to wide area. In the aspect of connotation, load modeling is developed from pure load to generalized load. In the aspect of model adaptation, load modeling is developed from small range to broad-spectrum. In the aspect of modeling methodologies, load modeling is developed from the single method to comprehensive methods. In the aspect of data resources, load modeling is developed from single data resource to multi data resources. Some detailed thoughts and proposals for load modeling research are also given in this paper.

Abstract:In-depth exploration of the theory and technological applications of smart manufacturing (SM) is lacking in the current talent training model for industrial engineering (IE) majors, and there is a lack of practical education for SM environments. This makes it difficult for students of traditional IE majors to adapt to the modern trend of industrial intelligence and meet the needs of market demand and enterprise development. Therefore, how to cultivate IE talents for SM has become an urgent problem for IE majors to solve. To this end, this paper proposes a new "SM+IE" talent training model, aiming to cultivate more high-quality composite application talents. This model is based on the Lean Manufacturing course and analyzes the effect of the training mode of SM. Secondly, we used the topic of "Sorting Efficiency Improvement" to verify the effectiveness of the new talent training model. The materials were divided into three types: large, medium, and small, and the materials were sorted using traditional IE practices and smart manufacturing-oriented practices. Finally, interviews were conducted with the participants, and both teachers and students indicated that the learning effect of this teaching reform practice was significantly better than that of the traditional IE teaching mode. The results show that the new talent training model improved not only the application and practical skills of the IE students, but also their teamwork and leadership skills.

Abstract:Process Control Engineering is a very practical course and the main contents are control system analysis,design and application.To stimulate learning enthusiasm of students and deepen their understanding of the contents of teaching,the independent design and integrated simulation teaching method is employed.Several typical process control problems are given,and each student must select one problem and solve it independently.Students need to build models,design and simulate control strategies,and write research reports.Finally,guided by the teacher,the classroom discussion is carried out.This teaching method can greatly upgrade the student's ability in identifying,analyzing and solving problems.

Abstract:Industrial ecology (IE) education is a topic that has received attention in institutions of higher education throughout the world. Some universities have been teaching and researching IE for the past 20 years but its scope is still being defined. There is a need to catalog and exchange experiences of IE teaching and their results. Based on a literature review, this paper aims to provide a framework composed of content and strategies for IE teaching. This framework is tested in teaching IE as a general education course for undergraduate students at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). The methodology applied in this paper is of a descriptive and empirical nature and thus this paper focuses on a practice-oriented perspective in describing the experience of BIT. A range of different strategies, including lectures, group discussions, case studies, role playing games, oral presentations, evaluation, and student feedback have been incorporated in the course. The results show that the course received a highly positive evaluation by the participating students. Students were impressed by IE’s characteristics of interdisciplinarity, ways of thinking, and practical value. Additionally, the course appears to influence students’ values, attitudes, and behavioral intentions. The paper concludes with some thoughts on ways of improving IE education in the future.

Abstract:The introduction of ‘Industrial College’ constitutes a supply-side structural reform in which higher education actively adapts to the industrial revolution and technological development to build academic subject clusters. This article explores the new organizational form of industrial colleges from the point of view of four aspects: history and origin, connotation and essence, form and model, and international experience. Second, it analyses the significance of cultivating practical engineering and technology talents in industrial colleges from application value and theoretical significance. Third, it suggests improving the organic circulation of four chains, including standard chain, institutional chain, goal chain, and information chain, and gradually forming the guarantee system of ‘setting standards – implementation process – monitoring results – feedback & evaluation’. Fourth, it expects to activate and strengthen the ability of universities to integrate regional industrial technology innovation and transformation, by reinforcing the exploration of the construction path for collaborative education and demonstrating the construction of the industrial college.

Abstract:This paper defined regional industrial ecology (IE) to include four connotations: sustainable social-economic-ecological development, the high-quality transformation of the industrial system (IS) and the ecological system (ES), and harmonious symbiosis between IS and ES. Regarding the composition of the symbiotic system, this paper proposed that the IE evaluation be carried out from three aspects: the sustainability of the symbiotic environment, the high-quality development of the symbiont, and the symbiotic pattern between the symbiotic units. Then, the maturity index determined by the symbiont and symbiotic mode and the orderliness index determined by the symbiont and symbiotic environment were measured to determine the IE level from the perspectives of the system’s function and structure. Besides, this paper adopted Geodetector and Oprobit model to identify the influencing factors of IE. Taking the π-shaped Curve Area of the Yellow River as the study area, this paper found that the IE systems’ structural orderliness of capital cities and resource-based cities was low, while the orderliness level of non-resource-based cities was high. The IE systems’ functional maturity level in the northwest Area was better than that of the southeast. The IE level was high in Inner Mongolia while low in Shanxi and Ningxia. Scientific innovation, economic development, openness degree, ecological pressure, industrial structure, urbanization level, and government influence have different influences on the IE systems’ orderliness and maturity levels. The findings of this paper provided a basis for realizing IE and promoting the high-quality transformation of the whole basin.

Abstract:As a leading university in engineering education in China, Tsinghua University implemented industrial ecology (IE) education in the 1990s. This article describes the evolution of IE education at Tsinghua. Tsinghua mainstreams IE education into green education and engineering education not only by establishing independent courses of IE for both undergraduate and graduate students, but also by incorporating IE principles and knowledge modules into an increasing number of courses. During 2002-2015, a total of 1,023 undergraduates from 33 schools and departments participated in an IE course. To cope with the diversity of participants, four knowledge modules were customized for an undergraduate course: concepts and history; methods and tools; topics and applications; and policy and perspectives. Meanwhile, an interdisciplinary teaching method was adopted by inviting experts from diverse disciplines and organizing group discussions. Though the course has received strong positive feedback, four challenges still remain in IE education: defining the knowledge boundary, presenting an integrated view, utilizing an interdisciplinary methodology, and cultivating a class culture.

Abstract:Based on the construction of the concept model,component domain model and full life cycle digital resource model for a new type of the intelligent manufacturing teaching factory,the model-based digital integration method and the specific content of the digital delivery at the three life cycle stages such as the factory planning and design, construction and implementation,and operation and maintenance are discussed.Through the construction of the digital resource library with different levels of maturity,the multi-dimensional teaching cases and experimental content are designed,and the integration of the model-based intelligent manufacturing technology with the teaching environment is realized,which can meet the needs of engineering talent training at different levels.

Abstract:The industrial electronics (IE) discipline includes a wide variety of technical areas devoted to the application of electronics and electrical sciences for the enhancement of industrial and manufacturing processes. It inherently acts as a key enabling technology for a diverse number of applications and includes the latest developments in intelligent and computer control systems, robotics, factory communications and automation, flexible manufacturing, data acquisition and signal processing, vision systems, and power electronics, among others, as well as the educational and human factors involved. This makes IE inherently multidisciplinary, and, with many interconnected synergies, it plays a key role as an enabling technology in multiple domestic, biomedical, transportation, and industrial applications.

Abstract:Although industrial activity has brought about rapid economic growth, it also faces the dual challenges of resource constraints and environmental pressure. Industrial ecology (IE) and ecological modernization (EM) are two theories regarding the conceptualization and implementation of sustainable development that emerged from the natural and social sciences, respectively. Over the past three decades, scholars have conducted copious amounts of theoretical and applied research on IE and EM, but comparative studies from an interdisciplinary perspective on the relationship between the two remain relatively rare. On the basis of a bibliometric analysis, this study offers a comprehensive examination of the background, theoretical connotations, and main content of IE and EM, also exploring the role of both theoretical perspectives in the promotion of sustainable industrial development. The findings are fourfold: (1) the research on IE and EM has been increasing year by year, particularly in the past decade; (2) the research is mostly concentrated in developed countries such as the United States and European Union member nations, and contributions from China have increased significantly in recent years; (3) IE has a broader research community than EM and has evolved clearer and more specific research contents and methods; and (4) IE, which analyzes the problems of specific industrial systems, and EM, which constitutes a higher-level institutional policy design, exhibit a trend of cross-fertilization. This study provides a reference for building a more systematic and comprehensive theoretical system of ecological transformation and discusses the future research directions in this field.
