Abstract:This paper introduces new classes of p -adic operators representing m -dissipative pseudo-differential operators with negative definite symbols under certain conditions. We will study new types of semilinear problems and martingale problems associated with these operators, and we will prove that these pseudo-differential operators are the infinitesimal generators of strongly continuous contraction semigroups on . Also, this article introduces new families of measures, resolvent of measures, positive definite measures, Feller semigroups, and Markov processes.

Abstract:We review properties of Bessel potentials, that is, inverse Fourier transforms of (regularizations of) $\frac{1}{(m^2+p^2)^{\frac{\mu}{2}}}$ on a pseudoEuclidean space with signature $(q,d-q)$. We are mostly interested in the Lorentzian signature $(1,d-1)$, and the case $\mu=2$, related to the Klein-Gordon equation $(-\Box+m^2)f=0$. We analyze properties of various ``two-point functions'', which play an important role in Quantum Field Theory, such as the retarded/advanced propagators or Feynman/antiFeynman propagators. We consistently use hypergeometric functions instead of Bessel functions, which makes most formulas much more transparent. We pay attention to distributional properties of various Bessel potentials. We include in our analysis the ``tachyonic case'', corresponding to the ``wrong'' sign in the Klein-Gordon equation.

Abstract:This paper completes the construction of $p$-adic $L$-functions for unitary groups. More precisely, in Harris, Li and Skinner [‘$p$-adic $L$-functions for unitary Shimura varieties. I. Construction of the Eisenstein measure’, Doc. Math.Extra Vol. (2006), 393–464 (electronic)], three of the authors proposed an approach to constructing such $p$-adic $L$-functions (Part I). Building on more recent results, including the first named author’s construction of Eisenstein measures and $p$-adic differential operators [Eischen, ‘A $p$-adic Eisenstein measure for unitary groups’, J. Reine Angew. Math.699 (2015), 111–142; ‘$p$-adic differential operators on automorphic forms on unitary groups’, Ann. Inst. Fourier (Grenoble)62(1) (2012), 177–243], Part II of the present paper provides the calculations of local $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}$-integrals occurring in the Euler product (including at $p$). Part III of the present paper develops the formalism needed to pair Eisenstein measures with Hida families in the setting of the doubling method.

Abstract:Recently, wavelet analysis over the p -adic fields are widely used in physics, biology and geophysics. In this paper, p -adic wavelets are used to study various p -adic pseudo-differential equations. p -Adic analogue of wave equation and general linear second order pseudo-differential equation are solved using both Haar and non-Haar wavelets. Finally, the existence of solutions of nonlinear p -adic pseudo differential equation and p -adic analogue of Navier Stokes equation are proved using the Schauder fixed point theorem together with wavelet functions.

First, we define the Green's function and the corresponding Weyl function, some of their properties are investigated, and we give a method to find the potential function. Then we give the solution of the inverse nodal problem and present a constructive procedure for the solution of the inverse problem by using nodes.

Abstract:This paper is dedicated to study some pseudo-differential equations related to the operator with symbol , acting on a radial function . The importance of this symbol is that it is a generalization of Vladimirov and Bessel operators. Our research provides conditions for the existence of its right inverse and the explicit formulae for both operators, as well as a practical application. The inverse allows solving a Cauchy problem with the operator, which can be reduced to an integral equation whose properties are similar to those of the classical Volterra equation. We also find conditions for the existence and uniqueness of a mild solution for a degenerate nonlinear Cauchy problem.

Abstract:Named essentially after their close relationship with the modified Bessel function Kν(z) of the second kind, which is known also as the Macdonald function (or, with a slightly different definition, the Basset function), the so-called Bessel polynomials yn(x) and the generalized Bessel polynomials yn(x;α,β) stemmed naturally in some systematic investigations of the classical wave equation in spherical polar coordinates. Our main purpose in this invited survey-cum-expository review article is to present an introductory overview of the Bessel polynomials yn(x) and the generalized Bessel polynomials yn(x;α,β) involving the asymmetric parameters α and β. Each of these polynomial systems, as well as their reversed forms θn(x) and θn(x;α,β), has been widely and extensively investigated and applied in the existing literature on the subject. We also briefly consider some recent developments based upon the basic (or quantum or q-) extensions of the Bessel polynomials. Several general families of hypergeometric polynomials, which are actually the truncated or terminating forms of the series representing the generalized hypergeometric function rFs with r symmetric numerator parameters and s symmetric denominator parameters, are also investigated, together with the corresponding basic (or quantum or q-) hypergeometric functions and the basic (or quantum or q-) hypergeometric polynomials associated with rΦs which also involves r symmetric numerator parameters and s symmetric denominator parameters.
Layer potentials and essentially translation invariant pseudodifferential operators on manifolds with cylindrical ends

Abstract:Motivated by the study of layer potentials on manifolds with straight conical or cylindrical ends, we introduce and study two classes (or calculi) of pseudodifferential operators defined on manifolds with cylindrical ends: the class of pseudodifferential operators that are ``translation invariant at infinity'' and the class of ``essentially translation invariant operators.'' These are ``minimal'' classes of pseudodifferential operators containing the layer potential operators of interest. Both classes are close to the $b$-calculus considered by Melrose and Schulze and to the $c$-calculus considered by Melrose and Mazzeo-Melrose. Our calculi, however, are different and, while some of their properties follow from those of the $b$- or $c$-calculi, many of their properties do not. In particular, we prove that the ``essentially translation invariant calculus'' is spectrally invariant, a property not enjoyed by the ``translation invariant at infinity'' calculus or the $b$-calculus. For our calculi, we provide easy, intuitive proofs of the usual properties: stability for products and adjoints, mapping and boundedness properties for operators acting between Sobolev spaces, regularity properties, existence of a quantization map, topological properties of our algebras, and the Fredholm property. Since our applications will be to the Stokes operator, we systematically work in the setting of \ADN-elliptic operators. We also show that our calculi behave well with respect to restrictions to (suitable) submanifolds, which is crucial for our applications to layer potential operators.

Operator algebras over the p-adic integers

Abstract:We study $p$-adic operator algebras, which are nonarchimedean analogues of $C^*$-algebras. We demonstrate that various classical examples of operator algebras - such as group(oid) algebras - have a nonarchimedean counterpart. The category of $p$-adic operator algebras exhibits a similar flavor to the category of real and complex $C^*$-algebras, featuring limits, colimits, tensor products, crossed products and an enveloping construction permitting us to construct $p$-adic operator algebras from involutive algebras over $\mathbb{Z}_{p}$. Finally, we briefly discuss an analogue of topological $K$-theory for Banach $\mathbb{Z}_{p}$-algebras, and compute it in basic examples, like Cuntz algebras and rotation algebras.

Fundamental Solutions and Green's Functions for certain Elliptic Differential Operators from a Pseudo-Differential Algebra

Abstract:We have studied possible applications of a particular pseudo-differential algebra in singular analysis for the construction of fundamental solutions and Green's functions of a certain class of elliptic partial differential operators. The pseudo-differential algebra considered in the present work, comprises degenerate partial differential operators on stretched cones which can be locally described as Fuchs type differential operators in appropriate polar coordinates. We present a general approach for the explicit construction of their parametrices, which is based on the concept of an asymptotic parametrix, introduced in \cite{FHS16}. For some selected partial differential operators, we demonstrate the feasibility of our approach by an explicit calculation of fundamental solutions and Green's functions from the corresponding parametrices. In our approach, the Green's functions are given in separable form, which generalizes the Laplace expansion of the Green's function of the Laplace operator in three dimensions. As a concrete application in quantum scattering theory, we construct a fundamental solution of a single-particle Hamilton operator with singular Coulomb potential.

Abstract:In this paper we examine the asymptotic structure of the pseudospectrum of the singular Sturm-Liouville operator $L=\partial_x(f\partial_x)+\partial_x$ subject to periodic boundary conditions on a symmetric interval, where the coefficient $f$ is a regular odd function that has only a simple zero at the origin. The operator $L$ is closely related to a remarkable model examined by Davies in 2007, which exhibits surprising spectral properties balancing symmetries and strong non-self-adjointness. In our main result, we derive a concrete construction of classical pseudo-modes for $L$ and give explicit exponential bounds of growth for the resolvent norm in rays away from the spectrum.

Abstract:An inspiration from the fundamentals of (r,q) calculus to introduce an innovative subclass within the T(p) category of multivalent analytic functions, located within the confines of the open unit disk, is subjected to examination. The establishment of the subclass was achieved by employing Jackson's derivative operator to enhance the comprehension of these analytical functions. This article began by investigating and establishing adequate criteria that dictate the inclusion of functions within this recently introduced subclass. To achieve this, a comprehensive coefficient characterization to facilitate a deeper comprehension of the subclass's properties and behavior is derived. Further, various pertinent results that contribute to the broader understanding of the functions belonging to this subclass are explored. The findings and implications of these results are elucidated, underscoring the potential significance of this work in advancing the field of multivalent analytic functions and their applications. In conclusion, this paper broadens the scope of T(p) and sheds light on the distinct characteristics exhibited by the functions in this newly introduced subclass. This work sets the stage for further exploration and applications of (r,q) calculus and Jackson's derivative operator in the domain of multivalent analytic functions.
