Abstract:The crystal structure of biphenyl methylamide double semicarbazone neodymium nitrate has been determined by X-ray diffraction method. Its crystal is orthorhombic, space group Fdd2, a = 44. 247(7), b = 27. 578(5), c = 8. 041(3) ? , V = 9812. 00(9) ? 3, Z = 16, D c = 1. 87 g/ cm 3, �� (CuK��) = 165. 04 cm -1, F (000) = 5487. The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined to R = 0. 048, R w = 0. 052 for 2313 observed reflections. The central Nd ion is 11-coordinated, by six oxygen atoms from three nitrate groups, two nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms from the neutral ligand, the eleventh is contributed by a water molecule.
