Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(C7H5O4)2(C12H8N2)2]·1.25H2O, the Cd2+ cation is coordinated by two phenanthroline (phen) molecules and two 2,5-dihydroxybenzoate (dhba) anions in a distorted octahedral geometry. The centroid–centroid distances of 3.809 (2) and 3.680 (2) Å between nearly parallel pyridine rings of the phen ligands and the benzene rings of dhba anions indicate that the dhba anions are involved in π–π stacking in the crystal structure. The face-to-face separation of 3.35 (3) Å between parallel phen ring systems also suggests π–π stacking between adjacent complex molecules. The crystal structure contains extensive O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonding.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cd(C4H4O4S)(C7H6N2)(3)]center dot 2H(2)O, the Cd-II atom is surrounded by three benzimidazole ligands and one thiodiacetate dianion to complete a distorted octahedral CdN3O2S coordination geometry. The tridentate TDA chelates to the Cd-II atom in a facial mode. A C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interaction and hydrogen bonding between neighboring complexes help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title centrosymmetric dimeric CdII complex, [Cd2(C7H5O4)4(C12H8N2)2(H2O)2], the CdII cation is coordinated by a bidentate phenanthroline (phen) ligand, three dihydroxybenzoate (dhba) anions and one water molecule in a distorted CdN2O4 octahedral geometry. Among the dhba anions, two anions bridge two CdII cations to form the dimeric complex with significant different Cd—O bond distances of 2.2215 (19) and 2.406 (2) Å. The centroid–centroid distance of 3.4615 (19) Å between two nearly parallel benzene rings of the dhba and phen ligands coordinating to the same CdII cation indicates the existence of intramolecular π–π stacking in the complex. Extensive O—H...O hydrogen bonding and intermolecular weak C—H...O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure. One hydroxy group of the monodentate dhba ligand is disordered over two sites with a site-occupancy ratio of 0.9:0.1.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the complex tris(benzimidazole)iminonodiacetato(2-)cadmium (II) dihydrate, (BZIM)(3)(IDA)Cd center dot 2H(2)O, was determined by single-crystal X-ray methods. The Cd(II) ion assumes distorted octahedral coordination geometry formed by three benzimidazole molecules and in iminodiacetate dianion. The dianion chelates Cd(II) as a terdentate in the facial configuration. Weak intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot pi interactions exist between neighboring benzimidazole rings. The thermal decomposition of the title complex has been studied. IR assignments based on the molecular structure have been made.

Abstract:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cd(C8H4O4)(C6H6N4S2)2]·H2O}n, the CdII ion is located on a twofold axis, and is coordinated by two diaminobithiazole ligands and two terephthalate dianions in a distorted octahedral geometry. The terephthalate dianion, located on an inversion centre, bridges the CdII ions to form polymeric chains.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Cd(C27H31N3)Cl2]·CH3CN, the coordination geometry around the five-coordinated CdII atom can be described as distorted trigonal–bipyramidal, formed by two Cl atoms, one pyridine N and two imine N atoms from the bis(iminoalkyl)pyridine ligand. The dihedral angles between the substituted phenyl rings and the plane formed by the three coordinated N atoms are 90.6 (1) and 86.0 (1)°. C—H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

Abstract:Crystals of the title complex with diaminobithiazole (DABT) were obtained by a solution diffusion method. X-ray diffraction analysis shows the complex to be monoclinic, space group P21/c with cell dimensions a=11.684(2), b=13.625(2), c=14.859(1) Å and β=109.970(7)°; R=0.026. The Cd(II) atom lies in a distorted octahedral environment with two DABT and two Cl ligands in a cis arrangement. The average internal dihedral angle of 9.3° between thiazole rings of DABT shows the twisted structure of the ligand in the complex. The Cd(II) atom deviates by some -0.570 Å from the mean plane of the thiazole ring containing N(4), but the Cd-N(4) bond is the shortest among four Cd-N bonds in the structure. Intramolecular H-bonds between Cl atoms and amino groups stabilize the cis-configuration of the complex.
