Author(s) shall follow the layout; the font styles and sizes of this template upon acceptance of the manuscript. A concise abstract is required (maximum length 200 words). The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research, the essential new information, the principal results and major conclusions. The abstract must be able to stand-alone and references to the manuscript should therefore be avoided. The font used in the abstract is Times New Roman, 10pt. Row space should be 1.1 times.

Abstract:This study specifically reports on the referencing accuracy to examine the breached APA sixth edition formatting references rules produced by English language and literature undergraduate students. This study was frame in Aronsky et.al (2005) employed a qualitative descriptive method to describe the breaches and the most breached rules. The selection of data samples was obtained from undergraduate thesis of nine students in English language and literature program in a private college in Bandung. The results showed that the students breached six formatting general rules: 1) not on a new page (3.23%), 2) incorrect formation of the section name (29.03%), 3) spacing errors (22.58%), 4) not listed alphabetically (19.35%), 5) indentation errors (16.13%), and 6) incorrect recording of the entries (9.68%). While based on the type of source, 20 rules in total were breached, which spread in six types of sources i.e., 1) periodicals, 2) books, reference books, and book chapters, 3) technical and research reports, 4) doctoral dissertation/ master’s thesis, 5) document from web site, and 6) unclear sources. Furthermore, the most breached APA sixth edition formatting references rules are incorrect formation of the section name (29.03%), incorrect formation of book, reference books, and book chapters (17.44%). The result tracks well with Aronsky et.al (2005) that formatting a paper in APA style can be tricky.

Abstract:The aim of this exploratory study on the wording of the title, abstract and keywords of the articles is to verify and analyze the author’s guidelines in scientific journals of Psychology. The method used a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques applied in a representative sample of journals in the area of Psychology indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR), considering the first eight titles of each of the four quartiles. The sample consisted of 32 magazines out of 77 (41.5%). A pre-adapted and tested spreadsheet was used. Data collection and processing was carried out on 38 items grouped into categories related to identification data, title guidelines, summary and keywords of the scientific article. The results reveal that the 32 magazine titles belong to 11 different publishers; all have some kind of style manual with guidelines that vary between complete and more superficial. Most have guidelines for drafting the title (75%, n. 24), abstract (96.8%, n. 31) and keywords (71.8% n. 23). The use of graphic and video abstracts are highlighted as new ways to disseminate the content of scientific articles. It is concluded that these aspects are aligned to a greater or lesser degree with the guidelines of the ISO standard and the APA manual. However, they are more related to the protocols of editorial management procedures for the dissemination of scientific work in a digital environment than to the intrinsic quality of documentary products associated with the organization and representation of Science.

Abstract:Introduction: Writing an abstract means to extract and summarize (AB - absolutely, STR - straightforward, ACT - actual data presentation and interpretation). Thousands of abstracts are submitted to stroke conferences each year. The following suggestions may improve the chances of your work being selected for presentation, and to communicate results in the most efficient and unambiguous way. TITLE AND STRUCTURE: Make the title dynamic and informative, rather than descriptive. Structure the abstract following the IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion) principle for your future original paper where background would become Introduction and conclusions would enter Discussion. Select the appropriate category for submission carefully. This determines which experts grade the abstract and the session where your competitors represent their work. If selected appropriately, your abstract is more likely to be graded by peers with similar interests and familiarity with your work or field. Methods should describe the study design and tools of data acquisition shortly, not data. Results: Provide data that answer the research question. Describe most important data with numbers and statistics. Make your point with data, not speculations and opinions. Abbreviations should be avoided and only be used after they have been spelled out or defined. Common mistakes include failure to state the hypothesis, rationale for the study, sample size and conclusions. Highlight the novelty of your work by carefully chosen straightforward wording. Conclusions: Conclusions have to be based on the present study findings. Make sure your abstract is clear, concise and follows all rules. Show your draft to colleagues for critique, and if you are not a native English speaker show it to a person who can improve/correct your text. Remember that accepted abstracts of completed original research should be followed by published original papers - if this is not intended or fails, it may indicate an impaired ability to succeed in scientific writing and an academic career.

Abstract:Teaching of Psychology, Ahead of Print. BackgroundStudents in research methods courses often engage in the research process and write about their findings in an APA Style report. This process can be intimidating and challenging for students.ObjectiveThe purpose of this preliminary study was to examine the use of writing workshops in teaching students to write research reports.MethodThe Writing Workshop Model included pre-writing worksheets, in-class writing, peer review, and self-evaluation. This method was compared to a more Standard Model that included writing instruction and peer review.ResultsStudents under the Writing Workshop Model had higher scores on the research report than those under the Standard Model. The pre-writing worksheets, in-class writing, and self-evaluation were rated higher than the peer review component of the Writing Workshop Model.ConclusionsThe Writing Workshop Model may be an effective way to provide support for students during the writing process, thereby enhancing the quality of APA Style research reports.Teaching ImplicationsInstructors of psychology courses could consider incorporating writing workshop components such as pre-writing worksheets, self-evaluations, and in-class writing opportunities to support student writing. Although peer review may be helpful, it is generally unpopular among students.

Abstract:Interventions based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) have been shown to be effective for children with a wide range of cognitive, adaptive, and functional abilities. Many special education teachers understand the principles of ABA and are adept at implementing ABA interventions for students. However, as the principles of ABA can be complex, communicating with parents about ABA interventions can be challenging. Providing parents with clear and succinct information in the form of a brief customized reference guide can be instrumental for facilitating and extending communication about their child's behavioral interventions. This article provides school personnel with guidelines and resources for helping parents understand and use interventions that are based on ABA. Specifically, this article presents 10 steps for creating an information guide for parents and provides recommendations for explaining the guide to parents.
