Abstract:The 11th annual meeting of the Australasian Information Security Conference (ACSW-AISC 2013) was held in Adelaide, at the City West Campus of the University of South Australia, as part of the Australasian Computer Science Week, January 29 - February 1, 2013. Originally, our conference was called the Australasian Information Security Workshop. In 2008, it was renamed the Australasian Information Security Conference. The main aim of the ACSW-AISC is to provide a venue for researchers to present their work on all aspects of information security, and to promote collaboration between academic and industrial researchers working in this area.

Abstract:It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 8th ACM Symposium on Information, Computer and Communications Security - ASIACCS 2013, which will be held in Hangzhou, China, May 7-10, 2013. The inaugural ASIACCS was held in Taipei (2006). Since then ASIACCS have been held in Singapore (2007), Tokyo (2008), Sydney (2009), Beijing (2010), Hong Kong (2011), and Seoul (2012). ASIACCS is a major international forum for information security researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore and exchange the newest cyber security ideas, breakthroughs, findings, techniques, tools, and experiences. We welcome subm issions from academia, government, and industry presenting novel research on all theoretical and practical aspects of computer and network security. The conference received 216 paper submissions, and accepted 35 regular papers and 27 short papers for presentation at the conference. The final versions of the accepted papers, which the authors finalized on the basis of comments from the reviewers, were included in the proceedings. Each accepted paper was carefully reviewed by at least three program committee members on the basis of its significance, novelty, and technical quality. The reviewing process was double-blind. It was followed by a Web-based discussion. Based on the comments and scores given by reviewers, the final decisions on acceptance were made.

Abstract:CACIC’11 was the seventeenth Congress in the CACIC series. It was organized by the School of Computer Science of the University of La Plata. The Congress included 11 Workshops with 148 accepted papers, 3 main Conference, 4 invited tutorials, different meetings related with Computer Science Education (Professors, PhD students, Curricula) and an International School with 5 courses. (http://www.cacic2011.edu.ar/). CACIC 2011 was organized following the traditional Congress format, with 11 Workshops covering a diversity of dimensions of Computer Science Research. Each topic was supervised by a committee of three chairs of different Universities. The call for papers attracted a total of 281 submissions. An average of 2.5 review reports were collected for each paper, for a grand total of 702 review reports that involved about 400 different reviewers. A total of 148 full papers, involving 393 authors and 77 Universities, were accepted and 25 of them were selected for this book.

Abstract:It is a pleasure to present to you the proceedings of this year's ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS 2011), held October 17-21 in Chicago, Illnois, USA. This year we received a record 429 submissions from 39 countries. Each submission was reviewed by the technical program committee of 53 experts, as well as over 280 external reviewers. The final program contains 60 full papers, representing the acceptance rate of 14%. The single-blind review process was organised in two rounds spanning 10 weeks. It included an opportunity for the authors to respond to reviews after the first round. Author response was followed by an electronic discussion among the PC members. Many reviews were assigned to PC members dynamically to maximise scrutiny and discussion of the submissions whose inclusion in the program was most uncertain. Overall, 1366 reviews were filed, including 430 from external reviewers. Despite the unexpected increase in submissions relative to CCS 2010, 327 papers received at least 3 reviews and 158 papers received at least 4 reviews, with some receiving as many as 5 or 6 reviews. The decision to allocate fewer than 3 reviews to some papers was taken on the basis of both the qualitative feedback from the first-round reviewers and a systematic quantitative analysis of the likelihood of their acceptance given the first-round reviews. Many papers that could not be selected for presentation contained interesting results and ideas. We hope that the reviews will help improve these papers for future re-submissions. We also worked closely with the program chairs of CCS-affiliated workshops to ensure that the authors of rejected papers had an opportunity to submit their work to those venues.

Abstract:The International Symposium on Distributed Computing and Artificial Intelligence is an annual forum that brings together ideas, projects, lessons, etc. associated with distributed computing, artificial intelligence and its applications in different themes. This meeting has been held at the University of Salamanca from the 22th to the 24th of October 2008. The technology transfer in this field is still a challenge and for that reason this type of contributions has been specially considered in this edition. This conference is the forum in which to present application of innovative techniques to complex problems. The artificial intelligence is changing our society. Its application in distributed environments, such as the Internet, electronic commerce, mobile communications, wireless devices, distributed computing, and so on is increasing and is becoming an element of high added value and economic potential, both industrial and research. These technologies are changing constantly as a result of the large research and technical effort being undertaken in both universities and businesses. The exchange of ideas between scientists and technicians from both academic and business areas is essential to facilitate the development of systems that meet the demands of today's society. This symposium has evolved from the Iberoamerican Symposium on Distributed Computing and continues to grow and prosper in its role as one of the premier conferences devoted to the quickly changing landscape of distributed computing, artificial intelligence and the application of AI to distributed systems. This year’s technical program is extremely strong and diverse, with contributions in both established and evolving areas of research. Submitted papers came from over 16 different countries, representing a truly "wide area network" of research activity. The DCAI technical program includes 88 papers (74 long papers, 12 short papers and 2 doctoral consortium) selected from a submission pool of 142 papers, from 16 different countries.
