Abstract:In this paper we briefly discuss some of our recent results in the study of moduli space of Riemann surfaces. It is naturally divided into two parts, one about the differential geometric aspect, another on the topological aspect of the moduli spaces. To understand the geometry of the moduli spaces we introduced new metrics, studied in detail all of the known classical complete metrics, especially the Kähler-Einstein metric. As a corollary we proved that the logarithmic cotangent bundle of the moduli space is strictly stable in the sense of Mumford. The topological results we obtained were motivated by conjectures from string theory. We will describe in this part our proofs by localization method of the Mariño-Vafa formula, its two partition analogue as well as the theory of topological vertex and the simple localization proofs of the ELSV formula and the Witten conjecture. The applications of these formulas in Gromov-Witten theory and string duality will also be mentioned.
On the moduli space of simple sheaves on singular K3 surfaces

Abstract:Mukai proved that the moduli space of simple sheaves on a smooth projective K3 surface is symplectic, and in \cite{FM2} we gave two constructions allowing one to construct new locally closed Lagrangian/isotropic subspaces of the moduli from old ones. In this paper, we extend both Mukai's result and our construction to reduced projective K3 surfaces; for the former we need to restrict our attention to perfect sheaves. There are two key points where we cannot get a straightforward generalization. In each, we need to prove that a certain differential form on the moduli space of simple, perfect sheaves vanishes, and we introduce a smoothability condition to complete the proof.

Abstract:We study isogeny relations between K3 surfaces and Kummer surfaces. Specifically, we prove a Torelli-type theorem for the existence of rational maps from K3 surfaces to Kummer surfaces, and a Kummer sandwich theorem for K3 surfaces with Shioda-Inose structure.

Abstract:We study the virtual geometry of the moduli spaces of curves and sheaves on K3 surfaces in primitive classes. Equivalences relating the reduced Gromov-Witten invariants of K3 surfaces to characteristic numbers of stable pairs moduli spaces are proven. As a consequence, we prove the Katz-Klemm-Vafa conjecture evaluating $\lambda_g$ integrals (in all genera) in terms of explicit modular forms. Indeed, all K3 invariants in primitive classes are shown to be governed by modular forms. The method of proof is by degeneration to elliptically fibered rational surfaces. New formulas relating reduced virtual classes on K3 surfaces to standard virtual classes after degeneration are needed for both maps and sheaves. We also prove a Gromov-Witten/Pairs correspondence for toric 3-folds. Our approach uses a result of Kiem and Li to produce reduced classes. In Appendix A, we answer a number of questions about the relationship between the Kiem-Li approach, traditional virtual cycles, and symmetric obstruction theories. The interplay between the boundary geometry of the moduli spaces of curves, K3 surfaces, and modular forms is explored in Appendix B by A. Pixton.

Fourier-Mukai partners of abelian varieties and K3 surfaces in positive and mixed characteristics

Abstract:We study Fourier-Mukai equivalences of (families of) abelian varieties and K3 surfaces in positive and mixed characteristics. We first prove in any characteristics that Fourier-Mukai partners of abelian varieties are again abelian varieties. We subsequently focus on the canonical lifts of ordinary abelian varieties and ordinary K3 surfaces. For such schemes, we show that Fourier-Mukai equivalences on the special fibers can be lifted to the canonical lifts. We also prove that the relative Fourier-Mukai partners of the canonical lifts are in bijection with the Fourier-Mukai partners of the special fibers. We conclude by demonstrating that the last result can be used to recover the ordinary case of a result originally proved by Honigs, Lombardi and Tirabassi.

On two-elementary K3 surfaces with finite automorphism group

Abstract:We study complex algebraic K3 surfaces of Picard ranks 11, 12, and 13 of finite automorphism group that admit a Jacobian elliptic fibration with a section of order two. We prove that the K3 surfaces admit a birational model isomorphic to a projective quartic hypersurface and construct geometrically the frames of all supported Jacobian elliptic fibrations. We determine the dual graphs of all smooth rational curves for these K3 surfaces, the polarizing divisors, and the embedding of the reducible fibers in each frame into the corresponding dual graph.

Abstract:The present article is concerned with mirror symmetry for generalized K3 surfaces, with particular emphasis on complex and Kähler rigid structures. Inspired by the works of Dolgachev, Aspinwall-Morrison and Huybrechts, we introduce a formulation of mirror symmetry for generalized K3 surfaces by Mukai lattice polarizations, fixing the problems in the conventional formulation of mirror symmetry for K3 surfaces. In particular, we settle the long-standing problem of mirror symmetry for singular K3 surfaces. Along the way, we investigate complex and Kähler rigid structures of generalized K3 surfaces.

On L-equivalence for K3 surfaces and hyperkähler manifolds

Abstract:This paper explores the relationship between L-equivalence and D-equivalence for K3 surfaces and hyperkähler manifolds. Building on Efimov's approach using Hodge theory, we prove that very general L-equivalent K3 surfaces are D-equivalent, leveraging the Derived Torelli Theorem for K3 surfaces. Our main technical contribution is that two distinct lattice structures on an integral, irreducible Hodge structure are related by a rational endomorphism of the Hodge structure. We partially extend our results to hyperkähler fourfolds and moduli spaces of sheaves on K3 surfaces.

Abstract:We give a vanishing and classification result for holomorphic differential forms on smooth projective models of the moduli spaces of pointed K3 surfaces. Abstract:In this paper we study equivariant moduli spaces of sheaves on a $ K3 $ surface $ X $ under a symplectic action of a finite group. We prove that under some mild conditions, equivariant moduli spaces of sheaves on $ X $ are irreducible symplectic manifolds deformation equivalent to Hilbert schemes of points on $ X $ via a connection between Gieseker and Bridgeland moduli spaces, as well as the derived McKay correspondence.

Abstract:We continue our study on the hypergeometric system E(3, 6) that describes period integrals of the double cover family of K3 surfaces. Near certain special boundary points in the moduli space of the K3 surfaces, we construct the local solutions and determine the so-called mirror maps expressing them in terms of genus 2 theta functions. These mirror maps are the K3 analogues of the elliptic lambda-function. We find that there are two nonisomorphic definitions of the lambda functions corresponding to a flip in themoduli space. We also discuss mirror symmetry for the double cover K3 surfaces and their higher dimensional generalizations. A follow-up paper will describe more details of the latter.

Abstract:Tyurin degenerations of K3 surfaces are degenerations whose central fibre consists of a pair of rational surfaces glued along a smooth elliptic curve. We study the lattice theory of such Tyurin degenerations, establishing a notion of lattice polarisation that is compatible with existing definitions for the general fibre and the rational surfaces comprising the central fibre. We separately consider elliptically fibred K3 surfaces, where the base of the fibration admits a splitting into a pair of discs with specified monodromy around the boundary. In this setting we establish a notion of lattice polarisation for the induced elliptic fibrations over discs, which is compatible with the existing definition for K3 surfaces. Finally, we discuss the mirror symmetric correspondence between these two settings.

Abstract:A complex smooth prime Fano threefold $X$ of genus $9$ is related via projective duality to a quartic plane curve $\Gamma$. We use this setup to study the restriction of rank $2$ stable sheaves with prescribed Chern classes on $X$ to an anticanonical $K3$ surface $S\subset X$. Varying the threefold $X$ containing $S$ gives a rational Lagrangian fibration $$\mathcal{M}_S(2,1,7) \dashrightarrow \mathbb{P}^3$$ with generic fibre birational to the moduli space $\mathcal{M}_X(2,1,7)$ of sheaves on $X$. Moreover, we prove that this rational fibration extends to an actual fibration on a birational model $\mathcal{M}$ of $\mathcal{M}_S(2,1,7)$. In a last part, we use Bridgeland stability conditions to exhibit all $K$-trivial smooth birational models of $\mathcal{M}_S(2,1,7)$, which consist in itself and $\mathcal{M}$. We prove that these models are related by a flop, and we describe the positive, movable and nef cones of $\mathcal{M}_S(2,1,7)$.

Abstract:We consider autoequivalences of the bounded derived category of coherent sheaves on a K3 surface. We prove that the image of the autoequivalences has index at most two in the group of the Hodge isometries of the Mukai lattice. Motivated by homological mirror symmetry, we also consider the mirror counterpart, i.e., the symplectic version of it. In the case of rho(X) = 1, we find an explicit formula which reproduces the number of Fourier-Mukai (FM) partners from the monodromy problem of the mirror K3 family. We present an explicit example in which a monodromy action does not come from an autoequivalence of the mirror side.
