Abstract:Mukai proved that the moduli space of simple sheaves on a smooth projective K3 surface is symplectic, and in \cite{FM2} we gave two constructions allowing one to construct new locally closed Lagrangian/isotropic subspaces of the moduli from old ones. In this paper, we extend both Mukai's result and our construction to reduced projective K3 surfaces; for the former we need to restrict our attention to perfect sheaves. There are two key points where we cannot get a straightforward generalization. In each, we need to prove that a certain differential form on the moduli space of simple, perfect sheaves vanishes, and we introduce a smoothability condition to complete the proof.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main problem that this paper attempts to solve is to extend Mukai's results on the symmetries of the moduli spaces of simple sheaves on smooth projective K3 surfaces to singular projective K3 surfaces, and for this extension, perfect sheaves need to be focused on. Specifically, the goals of the paper include: 1. **Extending Mukai's results**: Mukai proved that the moduli spaces of simple sheaves on smooth projective K3 surfaces are symmetric. The authors hope to extend this result to singular projective K3 surfaces, but in order to make Serre duality hold, they need to restrict to perfect sheaves. A perfect sheaf refers to a sheaf that can be resolved by a finite number of locally free sheaves. 2. **Constructing new Lagrangian/isotropic subspaces**: In their previous work, the authors gave two methods to construct new Lagrangian/isotropic subspaces from old ones. These methods include generalized syzygy bundles and extension bundles. This paper further explores the application of these methods on non - smooth K3 surfaces. 3. **Introducing a smoothing condition**: At some key points, the authors cannot directly generalize the original results, so they introduce a smoothing condition to complete the proof. Specifically, they need to prove that a certain differential form on the moduli space vanishes, and they complete this proof through the smoothing condition. ### Main Results 1. **Smoothness and dimension of the moduli space**: - Theorem 1.1 shows that for a K3 surface \( X \), a line bundle \( L\in\text{Pic}(X) \), and integers \( r, c_2 \) (where \( r\geq1 \)), the moduli space \( \text{PSpl}(r; L, c_2) \) of perfect simple sheaves is smooth, and its dimension is \( 2rc_2-(r - 1)L^2-2r^2 + 2 \). - Serre duality induces a natural, everywhere non - degenerate 2 - form \( \alpha \) on \( \text{PSpl}(r; L, c_2) \). - If the pair \( (X, L) \) can be smoothed, then \( \alpha \) is closed, and \( \text{PSpl}(r; L, c_2) \) is a symmetric algebraic space. 2. **Construction of Lagrangian subspaces**: - By the methods of extension bundles and generalized syzygy bundles, the authors prove that under appropriate assumptions, a Lagrangian/isotropic subspace in one moduli space can be used to construct a Lagrangian/isotropic subspace in another moduli space. - Theorem 1.2 and Theorem 1.3 describe in detail the specific properties of these constructions, including the half - dimensionality of the subspaces and the preservation of the isotropic/Lagrangian properties. 3. **Smoothing condition**: - The authors discuss the smoothing conditions of polarized K3 surface pairs \( (X, L) \), list examples that satisfy these conditions, and give a sufficient condition when \( X \) has isolated lci singularities and \( L \) is an ample line bundle. ### Conclusion By introducing the smoothing condition, the paper successfully extends Mukai's results to singular projective K3 surfaces and provides methods for constructing new Lagrangian/isotropic subspaces. These results provide an important theoretical basis for further research on the moduli space structures on singular K3 surfaces.
