Abstract:In this paper we establish the stability of Jensen's functional equation on some classes of groups. We prove that Jensen equation is stable on noncommutative groups such as metabelian groups and $T(2, K)$, where $K$ is an arbitrary commutative field with characteristic different from two. We also prove that any group $A$ can be embedded into some group $G$ such that the Jensen functional equation is stable on $G$.

Abstract:Firstly ,the new Euler‐Lagrange type cubic functional equation f (x+ y -2z)+f(y+ z -2x)+ f(z+ x -2y)+ 6f (x+ y+ z)= 9[f (x+ y)+ f (y+ z)+ f (z + x)] -18[f(x)+ f(y)+ f(z)] in Banach spaces was investigated .Secondly ,equivalence of six functional equations was discussed . Lastly , by using the fixed pointed alternative , the general solution to the above functional equation was given and the stability of cubic functional equation was proved .

Abstract:The purpose of the present paper is to solve (under some assumption on the domain) the equation $$ g(x+y)-g(x)-g(y)=xf(y)+yf(x). $$ After determining the general solutions, we will investigate the so--called alien solutions. %More precisely, we will examine the cases when the above equation implies that %$g(x+y)=g(x)+g(y)$ and $xf(y)+yf(x)=0$. %Concerning this, necessary and sufficient conditions will be provided. Finally, we will discuss the real solutions of the following related functional inequality: $$ g(x+y)-g(x)-g(y)\geq xf(y)+yf(x). $$

We determine the complex-valued solutions $f,g,h$ of the functional equation \begin{equation*}f(xy)=f(x)g(y)+g(x)f(y)+h(x)h(y), x,y\in S,\end{equation*} in terms of multiplicative functions, solutions of the special case $$\varphi(xy)=\varphi(x)\chi(y)+\chi(x)\varphi(y), x,y\in S$$ of the sine addition law, where $\chi:S\to\mathbb{C}$ is a multiplicative function, and also in terms of solutions of the particular case $$\psi(xy)=\psi(x)\chi(y)+\chi(x)\psi(y)+\varphi(x)\varphi(y), x,y\in S$$ of the cosine-sine functional equation where $\chi:S\to\mathbb{C}$ is a multiplicative function and $\varphi:S\to\mathbb{C}$ such that the pair $(\varphi,\chi)$ satisfies the sine addition law.

Our main results is that we describe the solutions of the Kannappan-Wilson functional equation \[\displaystyle \int_{S} f(xyt)d\mu(t) +\displaystyle \int_{S} f(\sigma(y)xt)d\mu(t)= 2f(x)g(y),\ x,y\in S,\] and the Van Vleck-Wilson functional equation \[\displaystyle \int_{S} f(xyt)d\mu(t) -\displaystyle \int_{S} f(\sigma(y)xt)d\mu(t)= 2f(x)g(y),\ x,y\in S,\] where $\mu$ is a measure that is a linear combination of Dirac measures $(\delta_{z_i})_{i\in I}$, such that $z_i\in Z(S)$ for all $i\in I$. Interesting consequences of these results are presented.

Abstract:In his monograph on Infinite Abelian Groups, I. Kaplansky raised three ``test problems" concerning their structure and multiplicity. As noted by Azoff, these problems make sense for any category admitting a direct sum operation. Here, we are interested in the operator theoretic version of Kaplansky's second problem which asks: if $A$ and $B$ are operators on an infinite-dimensional, separable Hilbert space and $A \oplus A$ is equivalent to $B \oplus B$ in some (precise) sense, is $A$ equivalent to $B$? We examine this problem under a strengthening of the hypothesis, where a ``primitive" square root $J_2(A)$ of $A\oplus A$ is assumed to be equivalent to the corresponding square root $J_2(B)$ of $B \oplus B$. When ``equivalence" refers to similarity of operators and $A$ is a compact operator, we deduce from this stronger hypothesis that $A$ and $B$ are similar. We exhibit a counterexample (due to J. Bell) of this phenomenon in the setting of unital rings. Also, we exhibit an uncountable family $\{ U_\alpha\}_{\alpha \in \Omega}$ of unitary operators, no two of which are unitarily equivalent, such that each $U_\alpha$ is unitarily equivalent to $J_n(U_\alpha)$, a ``primitive" $n^{th}$ root of $U_\alpha \oplus U_\alpha \oplus \cdots \oplus U_\alpha$.

Abstract:Let $k$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and $k[[z]]$ the ring of formal power series over $k$. In this paper, we study equations in the semigroup $z^2k[[z]]$ with the semigroup operation being composition. We prove a number of general results about such equations and provide some applications. In particular, we answer a question of Horwitz and Rubel about decompositions of ``even'' formal power series. We also show that every right amenable subsemigroup of $z^2k[[z]]$ is conjugate to a subsemigroup of the semigroup of monomials.

Abstract:This article sets forth results on the existence, non-existence, uniqueness, and regularities properties, as well as boundary behavior of solutions for singular systems involving mixed local and non-local elliptic operators (see System (S) below). More precisely, we first establish a new weak comparison principle for a singular equation. Afterward, we discuss the non-existence of positive classical solutions, as well as construct suitable ordered pairs of sub-solutions and super-solutions. This allows us to obtain the existence of a pair of positive weak solutions for System (S) by employing Schauder's fixed-point theorem in the associated conical shell. Finally, we adapt a method of Krasnoselsky to establish the uniqueness of such a positive pair of solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we deduce some hyperstability results for a generalized class of homogeneous Pexiderized functional equations, expressed as ∑ρ∈Γfxρ.y=lf(x)+lg(y), x,y∈M, which is inspired by the concept of Ulam stability. Indeed, we prove that function f that approximately satisfies an equation can, under certain conditions, be considered an exact solution. Domain M is a monoid (semigroup with a neutral element), Γ is a finite subgroup of the automorphisms group of M, l is the cardinality of Γ, and f,g:M→G such that (G,+) denotes an l-cancellative commutative group. We also examine the hyperstability of the given equation in its inhomogeneous version ∑ρ∈Γfxρ.y=lf(x)+lg(y)+ψ(x,y),x,y∈M, where ψ:M×M→G. Additionally, we apply the main results to elucidate the hyperstability of various functional equations with involutions.
