Abstract:We construct an intertwining map from the oscillator representation to the tensor product of two degenerate principal series of G and G′ which form a reductive dual pair in the sense of Howe. We derive results on local theta correspondence for the dual pairs (O(p, q), Sp(2q, R)), (U(p, q), U(q, q)) and (Sp(p, q), O*(4q)), where p⩾q. We also describe the correspondence completely for the pairs (O(p, q), SL(2, R)), (U(p, q)U(1, 1)), and (Sp(p, q), O*(4)).
General coefficient-vanishing results associated with theta series

Abstract:There are a number of sporadic coefficient-vanishing results associated with theta series, which suggest certain underlying patterns. By expanding theta powers as linear combinations of products of theta functions, we present two strategies that will provide a unified treatment. Our approaches rely on studying the behavior of products of two theta series under the action of the huffing operator. For this purpose, some explicit criteria are given. We may use the presented methods to not only verify experimentally discovered coefficient-vanishing results, but also to produce a series of general phenomena.

Abstract:We prove resurgence properties for the Borel transform of a formal power series associated to elements in the Habiro ring that come from radial limits of partial theta series via strange identities. As an application, we prove a conjecture in quantum topology due to Costin and Garoufalidis for two families of torus knots.

Abstract:We introduce and study a family of power series, which we call Theta series , whose coefficients are in the tensor square of a quantum loop algebra. They arise from a coproduct factorization of the T-series of Frenkel–Hernandez, which are leading terms of transfer matrices of certain infinite-dimensional irreducible modules over the upper Borel subalgebra in the category of Hernandez–Jimbo. We prove that each weight component of a Theta series is polynomial. As applications, we establish a decomposition formula and a polynomiality result for R-matrices between an irreducible module and a finite-dimensional irreducible module in category . We extend T-series and Theta series to Yangians by solving difference equations determined by the truncation series of Gerasimov–Kharchev–Lebedev–Oblezin. We prove polynomiality of Theta series by interpreting them as associators for triple tensor product modules over shifted Yangians.

Abstract:In this paper we consider a semigroup on trigonometric expansions $${\{{\mathcal T}_t: t \geq 0\}}$$ that will be called the Theta semigroup since its kernel is a multiple of θ3(x, q), the third Jacobi theta function. We study properties of this semigroup and prove that it is a positive diffusion semigroup. We also obtain that its subordinated semigroup is the classical Poisson semigroup. The extensions to higher dimensions and to periodic ultra distributions are also considered.

Uncovering Hidden Patterns: Approximate Resurgent Resummation from Truncated Series

Abstract:We analyze truncated series generated as divergent formal solutions of non-linear ordinary differential equations. Motivating the study is a specific non-linear, first-order differential equation, which is the basis of the resurgent formulation of renormalized perturbation theory in quantum field theory. We use the Borel-Padé approximant and classical analysis to determine the analytic structure of the solution using the first few terms of its asymptotic series. Afterward, we build an approximant, consistent with the resurgent properties of the equation. The procedure gives an approximate expression for the Borel-Ecalle resummation of the solution useful for practical applications. Connections with other physical applications are also discussed.

Abstract:We study the theta lifting for real unitary groups and completely determine the theta lifts of discrete series representations. In particular, we show that these theta lifts can be expressed as cohomologically induced representations in the weakly fair range. This extends a result of J.-S. Li in the case of discrete series representations with sufficiently regular infinitesimal character, whose theta lifts can be expressed as cohomologically induced representations in the good range.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate three-term linear relations among theta series of positive-definite integral binary quadratic forms. We extend Schiemann's methods to characterize all possible three-term linear relations among theta series of such forms, providing necessary and sufficient conditions for such relations to exist. To accomplish this, we develop, implement, and execute a novel extended refinement algorithm on polyhedral cones. We show that there is exactly one non-trivial three-term linear relation: it involves quadratic forms with discriminants $-3, -12, -48$, all in the same rational squareclass $-3(\mathbb{Q}^\times)^2$.

On the Maximum Theta Series over Unimodular Lattices

Abstract:The theta series of a lattice has been extensively studied in the literature and is closely related to a critical quantity widely used in the fields of physical layer security and cryptography, known as the flatness factor, or equivalently, the smoothing parameter of a lattice. Both fields raise the fundamental question of determining the (globally) maximum theta series over a particular set of volume-one lattices, namely, the stable lattices. In this work, we present a property of unimodular lattices, a subfamily of stable lattices, to verify that the integer lattice $\mathbb{Z}^{n}$ achieves the largest possible value of theta series over the set of unimodular lattices. Such a result moves towards proving a conjecture recently stated by Regev and Stephens-Davidowitz: any unimodular lattice, except for those lattices isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}^{n}$, has a strictly smaller theta series than that of $\mathbb{Z}^{n}$. Our techniques are mainly based on studying the ratio of the theta series of a unimodular lattice to the theta series of $\mathbb{Z}^n$, called the secrecy ratio. We relate the Regev and Stephens-Davidowitz conjecture with another conjecture for unimodular lattices, known in the literature as the Belfiore-Solé conjecture. The latter assumes that the secrecy ratio of any unimodular lattice has a symmetry point, which is exactly where the global minimum of the secrecy ratio is achieved.

Stochastic theta methods for random periodic solution of stochastic differential equations under non-globally Lipschitz conditions

Abstract:This work focuses on the numerical approximations of random periodic solutions of stochastic differential equations (SDEs). Under non-globally Lipschitz conditions, we prove the existence and uniqueness of random periodic solutions for the considered equations and its numerical approximations generated by the stochastic theta (ST) methods with theta within (1/2,1]. It is shown that the random periodic solution of each ST method converges strongly in the mean square sense to that of SDEs for all step size. More precisely, the mean square convergence order is 1/2 for SDEs with multiplicative noise and 1 for SDEs with additive noise. Numerical results are finally reported to confirm these theoretical findings.
