Abstract:In this paper, we establish new generalizations of the Hermite-Hadamard-type inequalities. These inequalities are formulated in terms of modules of certain powers of proper functions. Generalizations for convex functions are also considered. As applications, some new inequalities for the digamma function in terms of the trigamma function and some inequalities involving special means of real numbers are given. The results also include estimates via arithmetic, geometric and logarithmic means. The examples are derived in order to demonstrate that some of our results in this paper are more exact than the existing ones and some improve several known results available in the literature. The constants in the derived inequalities are calculated; some of these constants are sharp. As a visual example, graphs of some technically important functions are included in the text.

Abstract:Recent advances in mathematical inequalities suggest that bounds of polynomial-exponential-type are appropriate for evaluating key trigonometric functions. In this paper, we innovate in this sense by establishing new and sharp bounds of the form (1−αx2)eβx2 for the trigonometric sinc and cosine functions. Our main result for the sinc function is a double inequality holding on the interval (0, π), while our main result for the cosine function is a double inequality holding on the interval (0, π/2). Comparable sharp results for hyperbolic functions are also obtained. The proofs are based on series expansions, inequalities on the Bernoulli numbers, and the monotone form of the l’Hospital rule. Some comparable bounds of the literature are improved. Examples of application via integral techniques are given.
Inequalities for trigonometric sums

Abstract:We present several new inequalities for trigonometric sums. Among others, we show that the inequality $$ \sum_{k=1}^n (n-k+1)(n-k+2)k\sin(kx) > \frac{2}{9} \sin(x) \bigl( 1+2\cos(x) \bigr)^2 $$ holds for all $n\geq 1$ and $x\in (0, 2\pi/3)$. The constant factor $2/9$ is sharp. This refines the classical Szegö-Schweitzer inequality which states that the sine sum is positive for all $n\geq 1$ and $x\in (0,2 \pi/3)$. Moreover, as an application of one of our results, we obtain a two-parameter class of absolutely monotonic functions.

The results presented also provide insights into the monotonicity of the ratios of two power series, two Z \mathcal {Z} -transforms, two discrete Laplace transforms, two discrete Mellin transforms, two Laplace transforms, and two Mellin transforms. Finally, we employ these monotonicity rules to present several applications in the realm of special functions and stochastic orders.

Abstract:In the paper, the authors introduce two notions, the normalized remainders, or say, the normalized tails, of the Maclaurin power series expansions of the sine and cosine functions, derive two integral representations of the normalized tails, prove the nonnegativity, positivity, decreasing property, and concavity of the normalized tails, compute several special values of the Young function, the Lommel function, and a generalized hypergeometric function, recover two inequalities for the tails of the Maclaurin power series expansions of the sine and cosine functions, propose three open problems about the nonnegativity, positivity, decreasing property, and concavity of a newly introduced function which is a generalization of the normalized tails of the Maclaurin power series expansions of the sine and cosine functions. These results are related to the Riemann–Liouville fractional integrals.

A Sharp Inequality of Hardy-Littlewood Type Via Derivatives

Abstract: In this paper we consider a generalized version of Carleman's inequality. An equivalent version of it states that $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}\leq\|f\|_{H^2}$, where $f$ is a holomorphic function and $\alpha>1$. If the norms $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}$ are decreasing in $\alpha$, then the inequality holds for $f$. For a dense set of functions, we calculate the derivative of the norms $\|f\|_{A_\alpha^{2\alpha}}$ in $\alpha$ and give sufficient conditions for this derivative to be non-positive. As an application, we prove the inequality for linear combinations of two reproducing kernels. Some numerical evidences are also provided.

Abstract:We firstly study ∗ integrability and commutativity for multiplicative fractional integrals with exponential kernels, proposed by Peng et al. (2022). Secondly, making use of such operators, we present a symmetrical multiplicative fractional integrals identity. Based on it, and the fact that the function T∗ is multiplicatively convex or the function (lnT∗)θ is convex for θ>1 , especially pondering the case of 0<θ≤1 , we establish the symmetrical Hermite–Hadamard type inequalities for multiplicative convexity. We also give some applications in special means under multiplicative calculus.

Abstract:The classical Maclaurin inequality asserts that the elementary symmetric means $$ s_k(y) = \frac{1}{\binom{n}{k}} \sum_{1 \leq i_1 < \dots < i_k \leq n} y_{i_1} \dots y_{i_k}$$ obey the inequality $s_\ell(y)^{1/\ell} \leq s_k(y)^{1/k}$ whenever $1 \leq k \leq \ell \leq n$ and $y = (y_1,\dots,y_n)$ consists of non-negative reals. We establish a variant $$ |s_\ell(y)|^{\frac{1}{\ell}} \ll \frac{\ell^{1/2}}{k^{1/2}} \max (|s_k(y)|^{\frac{1}{k}}, |s_{k+1}(y)|^{\frac{1}{k+1}})$$ of this inequality in which the $y_i$ are permitted to be negative. In this regime the inequality is sharp up to constants. Such an inequality was previously known without the $k^{1/2}$ factor in the denominator.

Abstract:Various miscellaneous functional inequalities are deduced for the so-called generalized inverse trigonometric and hyperbolic functions. For instance, functional inequalities for sums, difference and quotient of generalized inverse trigonometric and hyperbolic functions are given, as well as some Grünbaum inequalities with the aid of the classical Bernoulli inequality. Moreover, by means of certain already derived bounds, bilateral bounding inequalities are obtained for the generalized hypergeometric ${}_3F_2$ Clausen function.

Abstract:In the paper, by convolution theorem of the Laplace transforms, a monotonicity rule for the ratio of two Laplace transforms, Bernstein's theorem for completely monotonic functions, and other analytic techniques, the authors verify decreasing property of a ratio between three derivatives of a function involving trigamma function and find necessary and sufficient conditions for a function defined by three derivatives of a function involving trigamma function to be completely monotonic. These results confirm previous guesses posed by Qi and generalize corresponding known conclusions.

Sharp Hardy inequalities involving distance functions from submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds

Abstract:We establish various Hardy inequalities involving the distance function from submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds, where the natural weights are expressed in terms of bounds of the mean curvature of the submanifold and sectional/Ricci curvature of the ambient Riemannian manifold. Our approach is based on subtle Heintze-Karcher-type Laplace comparisons of the distance function and on a D'Ambrosio-Dipierro-type weak divergence formula for suitable vector fields, providing Barbatis-Filippas-Tertikas-type Hardy inequalities in the curved setting. Under very mild assumptions, we also establish the sharpness and non-existence of extremal functions within the Hardy inequalities and - depending on the geometry of the ambient manifold - their extensibility to various function spaces. Several examples are provided by showing the applicability of our approach; in particular, well-known Hardy inequalities appear as limit cases of our new inequalities.
