Abstract:In this paper we discuss some basic properties of octonionic Bergman and Hardy spaces. In the first part we review some fundamental concepts of the general theory of octonionic Hardy and Bergman spaces together with related reproducing kernel functions in the monogenic setting. We explain how some of the fundamental problems in well-defining a reproducing kernel can be overcome in the non-associative setting by looking at the real part of an appropriately defined para-linear octonion-valued inner product. The presence of a weight factor of norm 1 in the definition of the inner product is an intrinsic new ingredient in the octonionic setting. Then we look at the slice monogenic octonionic setting using the classical complex book structure. We present explicit formulas for the slice monogenic reproducing kernels for the unit ball, the right octonionic half-space and strip domains bounded in the real direction. In the setting of the unit ball we present an explicit sequential characterization which can be obtained by applying the special Taylor series representation of the slice monogenic setting together with particular octonionic calculation rules that reflect the property of octonionic para-linearity.

Abstract:Based on Harnack’s inequality and convex analysis we show that each plurisubharmonic function is locally BUO (bounded upper oscillation) with respect to polydiscs of finite type but not for arbitrary polydiscs. We also show that each function in the Lelong class is globally BUO with respect to all polydiscs. A dimension-free BUO estimate is obtained for the logarithm of the modulus of a complex polynomial. As an application we obtain an approximation formula for the Bergman kernel that preserves all directional Lelong numbers. For smooth plurisubharmonic functions we derive a new asymptotic identity for the Bergman kernel from Berndtsson’s complex Brunn–Minkowski theory, which also yields a slightly better version of the sharp Ohsawa–Takegoshi extension theorem in some special cases.

Abstract:We establish local asymptotic estimates of partial Bergman kernels on closed, $S^1$-symmetric Kähler manifolds. The main result concerns the scaling asymptotics of partial Bergman kernels at generic off-diagonal points in which they are not negligible. The case of the two-dimensional sphere is discussed in detail.

Abstract:Contragenic functions are defined to be reduced-quaternion-valued harmonic functions which are orthogonal to all monogenic and antimonogenic functions in the $L^2$ norm of a given domain. The parallelism between the spaces of contragenic functions in the interior and exterior of the unit sphere in $\R^3$ is described in detail. Bergman reproducing kernels for the spaces of contragenic functions are given, mirroring the corresponding kernels for the spaces of vector parts of monogenic functions. Numerical examples are given showing the accuracy of truncations of the integral kernels. A striking duality is observed between the basic interior contragenic functions and the vector parts of exterior monogenic functions, and vice versa.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Rudin orthogonality problem on the Bergman space, which is to characterize those functions bounded analytic on the unit disk whose powers form an orthogonal set in the Bergman space of the unit disk. We completely solve the problem if those functions are univalent in the unit disk or analytic in a neighborhood of the closed unit disk. As a consequence, it is shown that an analytic multiplication operator on the Bergman space is unitarily equivalent to a weighted unilateral shift of finite multiplicity n if and only if its symbol is a constant multiple of the n-th power of a Möbius transform, which was obtained via the Hardy space theory of the bidisk in Sun et al. (2008) [10].

Abstract:We study the asymptotics of Ohsawa-Takegoshi extension operator and orthogonal Bergman projector associated with high tensor powers of a positive line bundle. More precisely, for a fixed complex submanifold in a complex manifold, we consider the operator which associates to a given holomorphic section of a positive line bundle over the submanifold the holomorphic extension of it to the ambient manifold with the minimal $L^2$-norm. When the tensor power of the line bundle tends to infinity, we obtain an explicit asymptotic expansion of this operator. This is done by proving an exponential estimate for the associated Schwartz kernel and showing that this Schwartz kernel admits a full asymptotic expansion. We prove similar results for the projection onto holomorphic sections orthogonal to those which vanish along the submanifold.
