Abstract:A suitable notion of weak amenability for dual Banach algebras, which we call weak Connes amenability, is defined and studied. Among other things, it is proved that the measure algebra M(G) of a locally compact group G is always weakly Connes amenable. It can be a complement to Johnson's theorem that is always weakly amenable [10].

Abstract:We introduce the notion of Johnson pseudo-Connes amenability for dual Banach algebras. We study the relation between this new notion with the various notions of Connes amenability like Connes amenability, approximate Connes amenability and pseudo Connes amenability. We also investigate some hereditary properties of this new notion. We prove that for a locally compact group $G$, $M(G)$ is Johnson pseudo-Connes amenable if and only if $G$ is amenable. Also we show that for every non-empty set $I$, $\mathbb{M}_I(\mathbb{C})$ under this new notion is forced to have a finite index. Finally, we provide some examples of certain dual Banach algebras and we study their Johnson pseudo-Connes amenability.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Connes amenability of the second dual of Arens regular Banach algebras. Of course we provide a partial answer to the question posed by Volker Runde. Also we fined the necessary and sufficient conditions for the second dual of an Arens regular module extension Banach algebra to be Connes amenable when the module is reflexive.

Abstract:We prove a version of Koszul duality and the induced derived equivalence for Adams connected -algebras that generalizes the classical Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel Koszul duality. As an immediate consequence, we give a version of the Bernšte {\uı} n-Gel'fand-Gel'fand correspondence for Adams connected -algebras.We give various applications. For example, a connected graded algebra is Artin-Schelter regular if and only if its Ext-algebra $\Ext^\ast_A (k, k) $ is Frobenius. This generalizes a result of Smith in the Koszul case. If is Koszul and if both and its Koszul dual are noetherian satisfying a polynomial identity, then is Gorenstein if and only if is. The last statement implies that a certain Calabi-Yau property is preserved under Koszul duality.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the notion of σ−ideally Connes amenable for dual Banach algebras and give some hereditary properties for this new notion. We also investigate σ−ideally Connes amenability of l1(G,ω). We show that if ω is a diagonally bounded weight function on discrete group G and σ is isometrically isomorphism of l1(G,ω), then l1(G,ω) is σ−ideally Connes amenable and so it is ideally Connes amenable.

Abstract:We introduce and study a new notion of amenability called symmetric pseudo-amenability. We obtain some properties of symmetrically pseudo-amenable Banach algebras and with examples, we compare this type of amenability with some other types of amenability. We also provide some special classes of symmetrically pseudo-amenable Banach algebras. Finally, Jordan and Lie derivations from a class of Banach algebras into appropriate Banach bimodules are investigated using the notion of symmetric pseudo-amenability.

Abstract:It is shown that for a locally compact group $G$, if $L^{1}(G)^{**}$ is approximately weakly amenable, then $M(G)$ is approximately weakly amenable. Then, new notions of approximate weak amenability and approximate cyclic amenability for Banach algebras are introduced. Bounded $\omega^{*}$-approximately weakly [cyclic] amenable $\ell^{1}$-Munn algebras are characterized.

Abstract:Abstract This paper continues the investigation of Esslamzadeh and the first author which was begun in [ESSLAMZADEH, G. H.-SHOJAEE, B.: Approximate weak amenability of Banach algebras, Bull. Belg. Math. Soc. Simon Stevin 18 (2011), 415-429]. It is shown that homomorphic image of an approximately cyclic amenable Banach algebra is again approximately cyclic amenable. Equivalence of approximate cyclic amenability of a Banach algebra A and approximate cyclic amenability of M n (A) is proved. It is shown that under certain conditions the approximate cyclic amenability of second dual A∗∗ implies the approximate cyclic amenability of A.

Abstract:A dual Banach algebra is a Banach algebra which is a dual space, with the multiplication being separately weak$^*$-continuous. We show that given a unital dual Banach algebra $\mc A$, we can find a reflexive Banach space $E$, and an isometric, weak$^*$-weak$^*$-continuous homomorphism $\pi:\mc A\to\mc B(E)$ such that $\pi(\mc A)$ equals its own bicommutant.

Abstract:The SRS is a 2GeV synchrotron light source with 14 beamlines serving approximately 34 experimental stations. Control of the major elements of the beamlines (vacuum pumps, gauges, valves and radiation stops) is the responsibility of the main SRS Control System. As part of the long-term upgrade plan for the SRS Control System a large programme of work has been undertaken to modernize beamline control. This work included: development of Linux based PC front end computers to interface to the existing CAMAC I/O system, replacement of the user interface by graphical synoptic diagrams running on Windows NT PCs, development of an ActiveX control for parameter display/control and a cache server to reduce loading on the rest of the control system. This paper describes the major components of the project; the techniques used to manage the new PCs and discusses some of the problems encountered during development.

A combinatorial characterisation of amenable locally compact groups

Abstract:We introduce a new combinatorial condition that characterises the amenability for locally compact groups. Our condition is weaker than the well-known F{\o}lner's conditions, and so is potentially useful as a criteria to show the amenability of specific locally compact groups. Our proof requires us to give a quantitative characterisation of (relatively) weakly compact subsets of ${\mathfrak L}^1$-spaces, and we do this through the introduction of a new notion of almost $(p,q)$-multi-boundedness for a subset of a Banach space that is intimately related to the well-known notion of the $(q,p)$-summing constants of an operator. As a side product, we also obtain a characterisation of weakly compact operators from ${\mathfrak L}^\infty$-spaces in terms of their sequences of $(q,p)$-summing constants.

Abstract:The AMNM property for commutative Banach algebras is a form of Ulam stability for multiplicative linear functionals. We show that on any semilattice of infinite breadth, one may construct a weight for which the resulting weighted convolution algebra fails to have the AMNM property. Our work is the culmination of a trilogy started in [Semigroup Forum 102 (2021), no. 1, 86-103] and continued in [European J. Combin. 94 (2021), article 103311]. In particular, we obtain a refinement of the main result of the second paper, by establishing a dichotomy for union-closed set systems that has a Ramsey-theoretic flavour.

Abstract:Let G be a locally compact group, and let A(G) and B(G) denote its Fourier and Fourier-Stieltjes algebras. These algebras are dual objects of the group and measure algebras, L^1(G) and M(G), in a sense which generalizes the Pontryagin duality theorem on abelian groups. We wish to consider the amenability properties of A(G) and B(G) and compare them to such properties for L^1(G) and M(G). For us, ``amenability properties'' refers to amenability, weak amenability, and biflatness, as well as some properties which are more suited to special settings, such as the hyper-Tauberian property for semisimple commutative Banach algebras. We wish to emphasize that the theory of operator spaces and completely bounded maps plays an indispensable role when studying A(G) and B(G). We also show some applications of amenability theory to problems of complemented ideals and homomorphisms.

Also, we study the relation between the pseudoamenability of FA and the pseudoamenability of the second dual A∗∗ and we also characterize approximate biflatness and approximate biprojectivity of FA associated with approximate biflatness and approximate biprojectivity of the second dual A∗∗ .

Abstract:Let A be a Banach algebra, let X and Y be Banach A -modules and take as the space of all bounded linear maps from X into Y . The pair is said to be an AMHNMH if almost module homomorphisms are near module homomorphisms in the norm topology on . We study AMHNMH pairs and give some examples of them. As a result, we prove that if A is amenable, X is a commutative Banach A -module and Y is a dual commutative Banach A -module, then the pair is AMHNMH. As special cases, we also investigate the nearness of almost multipliers and almost derivations to multipliers and derivations respectively.
