Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of the degenerate parabolic equation not in divergence form: ut=upΔu+auq−bur, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We at first discuss the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the problem, and then study the large time behavior for the global solutions. When the positive source dominates the model, we prove that the global solutions uniformly tend to the positive steady state of the problem as t→∞. In particular, we establish the uniform asymptotic profiles for the decay solutions when the problem is governed by the nonlinear diffusion or absorption.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to study singular solutions for a one-dimensional nonlinear diffusion equation. Due to slow diffusion near singular points, there exists a solution with a singularity at a prescribed position depending on time. To study properties of such singular solutions, we define a minimal singular solution as a limit of a sequence of approximate solutions with large Dirichlet data. Applying the comparison principle and the intersection number argument, we discuss the existence and uniqueness of a singular solution for an initial-value problem, the profile near singular points and large-time behavior of solutions. We also give some results concerning the appearance of a burning core, convergence to traveling waves and the existence of an entire solution.

In this paper, by means of the successive approximation method and other analysis technique, we present a local positive solution to Cauchy problem for a fractional diffusion equation with singular nonlinearity. Abstract:We consider a diffusion equation on the real line with growth rates (reaction terms) being negative in a bounded unfavorable region and bistable on two sides. The equation can be used to model a species living in a habitat with a polluted or hunting zone but still tries to survive or even spread to the whole space. Using the zero number argument, we first show the general convergence to stationary solution for any nonnegative global solutions, and then we prove a spreading–transition–vanishing trichotomy result for the asymptotic behavior of global solutions. The key point is to find a quite special stationary solution to distinguish the spreading and transition solutions. Finally, we construct precise upper and lower solutions to estimate the asymptotic speed for the spreading solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions for a class of fractional superdiffusion equations with initial-boundary conditions. For a multidimensional fractional drift superdiffusion equation, we just consider the simplest case with divergence-free drift velocity $u \in L^{2}(\Omega)$ only depending on the spatial variable x. Finally, exploiting the Schauder fixed point theorem combined with the Arzelà-Ascoli compactness theorem, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions in the standard Banach space $C([0,T]; H_{0}^{1}(\Omega))$ for a class of fractional superdiffusion equations.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the investigation of a class of singular differential systems with non-local boundary conditions. Its primary objective is to establish the variational structure of the non-local singular differential systems, and systematically explore multiple solutions through the application of the variational method. A significant achievement of this research is the demonstration that the energy functional satisfies the Cerami condition within an appropriate Sobolev's space. The derivation of key results is facilitated by the strategic application of the Minimization sequence and Fountain Theorem. Furthermore, even in cases where the nonlinear term fails to meet the Ambrosetti–Rabinowitz condition, this paper successfully applies the variational method to address the associated problems. The challenges addressed in this study include proving the convergence of the solution sequence, ensuring the continuous differentiability of the energy functional, and showcasing the embedding property of space. Distinguishing itself from existing research, this paper innovatively constructs a variational framework tailored specifically for singular differential systems with non-local boundary conditions. The utilization of variational methods enables a meticulous and systematic exploration into the solvability of these intricate problems.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a diffusion model of Kirchhoff-type driven by a nonlocal integro-differential operator. As a particular case, we consider the following diffusion problem where [u]s is the Gagliardo seminorm of u, is a bounded domain with Lipschitz boundary, is the fractional Laplacian with , is the initial function, and is continuous. Under some appropriate conditions, the local existence of nonnegative solutions is obtained by employing the Galerkin method. Then, by virtue of a differential inequality technique, we prove that the local nonnegative solutions blow-up in finite time with arbitrary negative initial energy and suitable initial values. Moreover, we give an estimate for the lower and upper bounds of the blow-up time. The main novelty is that our results cover the degenerate case, that is, the coefficient of could be zero at the origin.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Dirichlet problem for a scalar elliptic equation in a bounded Lipschitz domain $\Omega \subset \mathbb R^3$ with a singular drift of the form $b_0= b-\alpha \frac {x'}{|x'|^2}$ where $x'=(x_1,x_2,0)$, $\alpha \in \mathbb R$ is a parameter and $b$ is a divergence free vector field having essentially the same regularity as the potential part of the drift. Such drifts naturally arise in the theory of axially symmetric solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations. For $\alpha <0$ the divergence of such drifts is positive which potentially can ruin the uniqueness of solutions. Nevertheless, for $\alpha<0$ we prove existence and Hölder continuity of a unique weak solution which vanishes on the axis $\Gamma:=\{ ~x\in \mathbb R^3:~|x'|=0~\}$.

Abstract:In this paper, based on the conformable derivative, we introduce the concept of conformable variable order derivative. The conformable derivative is a local operator, it has many properties like usual integer derivative's ones. Similar to the conformable derivative, we study some properties of the conformable variable order derivative. We investigate the fundamental solutions to initial value problem for linear homogeneous and inhomogeneous diffusion differential equations with the conformable variable order derivative. In addition, using upper and lower solutions and monotone iterative method, we consider the existence and uniqueness of solutions to an initial value problem for nonlinear diffusion differential equations involving with the conformable variable order derivative.

Abstract:In this paper, the general conformable fractional derivative is used in the classical diffusion equations, and the corresponding maximum principle is obtained. By the maximum principle, this paper proves the uniqueness of the solution and the continuous dependence on source function and initial-boundary conditions of the solution. Furthermore, by employing the variable separation method, this paper obtains some existence results and the asymptotic behavior of the classical solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider initial-boundary value problems for two-component nonlinear systems of time-fractional diffusion equations with the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition and non-negative initial values. The main results are the existence of solutions global in time and the blow-up. Our approach involves the truncation of the nonlinear terms, which enables us to handle all local Lipschitz continuous nonlinear terms, provided their sum is less than or equal to zero. By employing a comparison principle for the corresponding linear system, we establish also the non-negativity of the nonlinear system.

Abstract:In this paper we explore the classical solutions to the conservation law with degenerate diffusion term (ut−Δx′u=divf(u),x∈Ω⊂Rn,t>0, with x=(x1,x′)). We establish the global existence and exponential decay estimates to the solutions of the initial boundary value problem in domain Ω=R×∏i=2n(0,Li). Meanwhile, to clarify the viscous effect of the degenerate diffusion term, we also investigate the classical solutions to the Cauchy problem of the modified equation ut−Δx′u=(1−χ(D))divf(u),x∈Rn,t>0, with χ(D) a Fourier multiplier operator, we use the frequency decomposition method to establish the global existence and the polynomial decay estimates.

Abstract:In this article, we are concerned about the existence, uniqueness, and nonexistence of the positive solution for: where N ⩾ 3 , 0 < q < 1 , λ > 0 , p > 1 , μ > 0 is a parameter and the function h ( x ) satisfies certain conditions. To start with, based on the variational argument and perturbation method, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of the positive solution for the aforementioned singular elliptic differential equation as λ > N 2 . In addition, there is no solution as λ ⩽ N 2 . Later, from an experimental point of view, we give the numerical solution of the aforementioned singular elliptic differential equation by means of a neural network in some special cases, which enrich the theoretical results. Our conclusions partially extend the results corresponding to the nonsingular case.
