Abstract:Since its successful inauguration in Beijing, August, 2012, the IEEE international Conference on Communications (ICCC) has been globally recognized as one of the important annual international conferences held by the IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc) and China Institute of Communications (CIC). IEEE/CIC ICCC'14, the third ICCC held in Shanghai, China, 13–15 October, 2014, continued to expand its influence and had attracted distinguished scholars, key researchers, young investigators and ambitious students from dozens of countries and regions. The technical program of ICCC 2014 features 4 world-class plenary keynote speeches, 8 technical symposia, 5 tutorials, 4 industrial and academic panels and 1 workshop, covering from decades-long hot topics such as MIMO, interference coordination, heterogeneous networks and etc., to recent eye-catchers such as big data and social networks. The conference not only provided a forum and seminar for active researchers from every directions of this academia, but also attracted delegates from the main players in the industry.

Abstract:This special section of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits presents the expanded versions of selected articles presented at the 2023 Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium (RFIC) held in San Diego, CA, USA, during June 11–13, 2023. The RFIC Symposium is the world's premier conference focused on RF and millimeter-wave (mmWave) integrated circuits and systems technology. In addition to showcasing state-of-the-art high-frequency IC design techniques, the conference has evolved to encompass a wide range of emerging technologies and applications, including wireless/wireline communication, cryogenic technology, and other innovations in RF, millimeter-wave, terahertz-wave, and analog/mixed-signal ICs. Abstract:We are excited to welcome you to the 2022 International Conference on Service Robotics (ICoSR 2022)! Once again, the ICoSR research community cannot meet in person, because of the COVID-19 pandemic; originally, we planned and hoped for at least a hybrid conference to be hosted in Xishuangbanna, China. In order to create safe, meaningful, and wanted human-robot interactions for people and society, to create new ways of thinking about our future lives with robotic technology, virtual conference is essential. The ICoSR Conference is presenting topquality research and the virtual format might even allow us to attract and include more people who would not have the opportunity to travel to China.

Abstract:We are happy to introduce this Special Issue, "Intelligent Surfaces for 5G and Beyond," to the readers of IEEE Wireless Communications. The objective of this Special Issue is to report on the latest, most promising research advances, major challenges, and recent advancements in modeling, analysis, design, and implementation of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) empowered wireless communication networks, as well as point out new research directions in this emerging research area. After a rigorous review process, 12 articles have been accepted, and they cover many subtopics within this research field. In particular, some of the articles focus on mobile edge computing, while others focus on the applications of RISs on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), high-speed trains, and free space optical communication systems. The remaining articles focus on the optimization and channel estimation, as well as on future sixth-generation (6G) wireless communication systems. Many fine papers could not be included in this Special Issue due to space constraints. We anticipate seeing them in other publication venues.

Abstract:The 2012 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technologies (ICMMT2012) is the eighth of a consecutive series initiated in 1998 to be held in China every other year. ICMMT2012 will provide a broader forum for worldwide scientists and engineers of varied backgrounds to exchange information and share research results to discuss collaborations in the fields of microwave, millimeter wave and even to the far infrared and optical waves. The conference is also a platform for the new faces to become known and for the previous attendees to refresh their friendships. A large-scale exhibition of research achievements and commercial products related to the conference topics, the 2012 Microwave Wireless Industry Exhibition will be held concurrently. A high number of 666 papers were submitted to ICMMT2012 from 16 countries and regions. Aroud 60 TPC members reviewed the papers for their technical merits and the interests to the microwave and millimeter wave community. Finally, a total number of 608 papers were accepted for presentation in ICMMT2012. We have arranged 30 oral sessions and 4 poster sessions from May 6 to May 8 to present the papers. In this large event on microwave and millimeter waves, we have invited 3 Keynote Speakers from research institute and universities. Besides the regular papers, a high number of 242 student papers were received to take part in the student-paper competition. After the peer review by the TPC members, 20 papers were selected to the final list for the three best student papers.
