Abstract:Let k be a local field. Let I v and I_v^' be smooth principal series representations of GL n (k) and GL n -−1 (k), respectively. The Rankin-Selberg integrals yield a continuous bilinear map I_v× I_v^'→ℂ with a certain invariance property. We study integrals over a certain open orbit that also yield a continuous bilinear map I_v× I_v^'→ℂ with the same invariance property, and show that these integrals equal the Rankin-Selberg integrals up to an explicit constant. Similar results are also obtained for Rankin-Selberg integrals for GL n (k) × GL n (k).
Unimodality preservation by ratios of functional series and integral transforms

Abstract:Elementary, but very useful lemma due to Biernacki and Krzyż (1955) asserts that the ratio of two power series inherits monotonicity from that of the sequence of ratios of their corresponding coefficients. Over the last two decades it has been realized that, under some additional assumptions, similar claims hold for more general series ratios as well as for unimodality in place of monotonicity. This paper continues this line of research: we consider ratios of general functional series and integral transforms and furnish natural sufficient conditions for preservation of unimodality by such ratios. Numerous series and integral transforms appearing in applications satisfy our sufficient conditions, including Dirichlet, factorial and inverse factorial series, Laplace, Mellin and generalized Stieltjes transforms, among many others. Finally, we illustrate our general results by exhibiting certain statements on monotonicity patterns for ratios of some special functions. The key role in our considerations is played by the notion of sign regularity.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish three new and general transformations with sixteen parameters and bases via Abel's lemma on summation by parts. As applications, we set up a lot of new transformations of basic hypergeometric series. Among include some new quadratic, cubic, and quartic transformations. Furthermore, we put forward the so-called (R,S) -type transformation with arbitrary degree to unify such multibasic transformations. A special (3,3) -type transformation and its example are presented.

Exotic Bailey-Slater SPT-Functions II: Hecke-Rogers-Type Double Sums and Bailey Pairs From Groups A, C, E

Abstract:We investigate spt-crank-type functions arising from Bailey pairs. We recall four spt-type functions corresponding to the Bailey pairs $A1$, $A3$, $A5$, and $A7$ of Slater and given four new spt-type functions corresponding to Bailey pairs $C1$, $C5$, $E2$, and $E4$. Each of these functions can be thought of as a count on the number of appearances of the smallest part in certain integer partitions. We prove simple Ramanujan type congruences for these functions that are explained by a spt-crank-type function. The spt-crank-type functions are two variable $q$-series determined by a Bailey pair, that when $z=1$ reduce to the spt-type functions. We find the spt-crank-type functions to have interesting representations as either infinite products or as Hecke-Rogers-type double series. These series reduce nicely when $z$ is a certain root of unity and allow us to deduce the congruences. Additionally we find dissections when $z$ is a certain root of unity to give another proof of the congruences. Our double sum and product formulas require Bailey's Lemma and conjugate Bailey pairs. Our dissection formulas follow from Bailey's Lemma and dissections of known ranks and cranks.

Symmetry Integrability and Geometry Methods and Applications

Abstract:Using the method of the -exponential differential operator, we give an extension of the Sears transformation formula. Based on this extended formula and a -series expansion formula for an analytic function around the origin, we present a transformation formula for triple -series, which includes several interesting special cases, especially a double -series summation formula. Some applications of this transformation formula to Rogers-Hecke type series are discussed. More than 100 Rogers-Hecke type identities including Andrews' identities for the sums of three squares and the sums of three triangular numbers are obtained.

Abstract:In this article, we use Lindstr\"om Gessel Viennot Lemma to give a short, combinatorial, visualizable proof of the identity of Schur polynomials -- the sum of monomials of Young tableaux equals to the quotient of determinants. As a by-product, we have a proof of Vandermonde determinant without words. We also prove the cauchy identity. In the remarks, we discuss factorial Schur polynomials, dual Cauchy identity and the relation beteen Newton interpolation formula.

Abstract:A large number of summation and transformation formulas for a certain class of double hypergeometric series are observed here to follow fairly readily from a single known result which, in turn, is a very special case of one of six general expansion formulas given in the literature. Generalizations and unifications of these expansion formulas involving series with essentially arbitrary terms are presented. It is also shown how the various series transformations considered in this paper admit themselves of q-extensions which are capable of unifying numerous scattered results in the theory of basic double hypergeometric functions.
Minimal models, modular linear differential equations and modular forms of fractional weights

Abstract:We show that modular forms of fractional weights on principal congruence subgroups of odd levels, which are found by T. Ibukiyama, naturally appear as characters being multiplied $\eta^{c_{\text{eff}}}$ of the so-called minimal models of type $(2, p)$, where $c_{\text{eff}}$ is the effective central charge of a minimal model. Using this fact and modular invariance property of the space of characters, we give a different proof of the result showned by Ibukiyama that is the explicit formula representing $\mathrm{SL}_{2}(\mathbb{Z})$ on the space of the ibukiyama modular forms. We also find several pairs of spaces of the Ibukiyama modular forms on $\Gamma(m)$ and $\Gamma(n)$ with $m|n$ having the property that the former are included in the latter. Finally, we construct vector-valued modular forms of weight $k\in\frac{1}{5}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ starting from the Ibukiyama modular forms of weight $k\in\frac{1}{5}\mathbb{Z}_{>0}$ with some multiplier system by a symmetric tensor product of this representation and show that the components functions coincides with the solution space of some monic modular linear differential equation of weight $k$ and the order $1+5k$.

Abstract:By applying Slater's transformation formulas for the bilateral basic hypergeometric series ${}_2\psi_{2}$, we derive three type translation formulas for the generalized Zwegers' $\mu$-function (``continuous $q$-Hermite function'') which was introduced by Shibukawa--Tsuchimi (SIGMA, 2023). From some Bailey's transformation formula of ${}_2\psi_{2}$, we also give a formula for the expression of the generalized Zwegers' $\mu$-function by some very-well-poised bilateral basic hypergeometric series ${}_4\psi_{8}$. As an application of this new expression formula for the generalized Zwegers' $\mu$-function, we obtain some new Fourier expansions for the Weierstrass and Jacobi elliptic functions.

Abstract:Using cyclotomic multiple zeta values of level $8$, we confirm and generalize several conjectural identities on infinite series with summands involving $\binom{2k}k8^k/(\binom{3k}k\binom{6k}{3k})$. Abstract:Lucy Slater used Bailey's $_6\psi_6$ summation formula to derive the Bailey pairs she used to construct her famous list of 130 identities of the Rogers-Ramanujan type. In the present paper we apply the same techniques to Chu's $_{10}\psi_{10}$ generalization of Bailey's formula to produce quite general Bailey pairs. Slater's Bailey pairs are then recovered as special limiting cases of these more general pairs. In re-examining Slater's work, we find that her Bailey pairs are, for the most part, special cases of more general Bailey pairs containing one or more free parameters. Further, we also find new general Bailey pairs (containing one or more free parameters) which are also implied by the $_6\psi_6$ summation formula. Slater used the Jacobi triple product identity (sometimes coupled with the quintuple product identity) to derive her infinite products. Here we also use other summation formulae (including special cases of the $_6\psi_6$ summation formula and Jackson's $_6\phi_5$ summation formula) to derive some of our infinite products. We use the new Bailey pairs, and/or the summation methods mentioned above, to give new proofs of some general series-product identities due to Ramanujan, Andrews and others. We also derive a new general series-product identity, one which may be regarded as a partner to one of the Ramanujan identities. We also find new transformation formulae between basic hypergeometric series, new identities of Rogers-Ramanujan type, and new false theta series identities. Some of these latter are a kind of "hybrid" in that one side of the identity consists a basic hypergeometric series, while the other side is formed from a theta product multiplied by a false theta series. This type of identity appears to be new.
