Abstract:We first study the discrete Schrödinger equations with analytic potentials given by a class of transformations. It is shown that if the coupling number is large, then the Lyapunov exponent equals approximately to the logarithm of this coupling number. When the transformation becomes the skew-shift mapping, we prove that the Lyapunov exponent is weak Hölder continuous, and the spectrum satisfies Anderson Localization and contains large intervals. Moreover, all of these conclusions are non-perturbative.

Global Kato smoothing and Strichartz estimates for higher-order Schrödinger operators with rough decay potentials

Abstract:Let $ H = (-\Delta)^m + V $ be a higher-order elliptic operator on $ L^2(\mathbb{R}^n) $, where $ V $ is a general bounded decaying potential. This paper focuses on the global Kato smoothing and Strichartz estimates for solutions to Schrödinger-type equation associated with $ H $. In particular, we first establish sharp global Kato smoothing estimates for $ e^{itH} $, based on uniform resolvent estimates of Kato-Yajima type for the absolutely continuous part of $ H $. As a consequence, we also obtain optimal local decay estimates. Using these local decay estimates, we then prove the full set of Strichartz estimates, including the endpoint case. Notably, we derive Strichartz estimates with sharp smoothing effects for higher-order cases with rough potentials, which are applicable to the study of nonlinear higher-order Schrödinger equations. Finally, we introduce new uniform Sobolev estimates of the Kenig-Ruiz-Sogge type, incorporating an additional derivative term, which are crucial for establishing the sharp Kato smoothing estimates.

Orthonormal Strichartz estimate for dispersive equations with potentials

Abstract:In this paper we prove the orthonormal Strichartz estimates for the higher order and fractional Schrödinger, wave, Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations with potentials. As in the case of the Schrödinger operator, the proofs are based on the smooth perturbation theory by T. Kato. However, for the Klein-Gordon and Dirac equations, we also use a method of the microlocal analysis in order to prove the estimates for wider range of admissible pairs. As applications we prove the global existence of a solution to the higher order or fractional Hartree equation with potentials which describes the dynamics of infinitely many particles. We also give a local existence result for the semi-relativistic Hartree equation with electromagnetic potentials. As another application, the refined Strichartz estimates are proved for higher order and fractional Schrödinger, wave and Klein-Gordon equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish an optimal dual version of trace estimate involving angular regularity. Based on this estimate, we get the generalized Morawetz estimates and weighted Strichartz estimates for the solutions to a large class of evolution equations, including the wave and Schrodinger equation. As applications, we prove the Strauss' conjecture with a kind of mild rough data for 2 <= n <= 4, and a result of global well-posedness with small data for some nonlinear Schrodinger equation with L-2-subcritical nonlinearity.

Abstract:Combining TT* argument and bilinear interpolation, this paper obtains the Strichartz and smoothing estimates of dispersive semi-group e−itP(D) in weighted L2 spaces. Among other things, we recover the results in [1]. Moreover, the application of these results to the well-posedness of some equations are shown in the last section.

Abstract:We show trilinear Strichartz estimates in one and two dimensions on frequency-dependent time intervals. These improve on the corresponding linear estimates of periodic solutions to the Schrödinger equation. The proof combines decoupling iterations with bilinear short-time Strichartz estimates. Secondly, we use decoupling to show new linear Strichartz estimates on frequency dependent time intervals. We apply these in case of the Airy propagator to obtain the sharp Sobolev regularity for the existence of solutions to the modified Korteweg–de Vries equation.

Improved bilinear Strichartz estimates with application to the well-posedness of periodic generalized KdV type equations

Abstract:We improve our previous result [L. Molinet and T. Tanaka, Unconditional well-posedness for some nonlinear periodic one-dimensional dispersive equations, J. Funct. Anal. 283 (2022), 109490] on the Cauchy problem for one dimensional dispersive equations with a quite general nonlinearity in the periodic setting. Under the same hypotheses that the dispersive operator behaves for high frequencies as a Fourier multiplier by $ i |\xi|^\alpha \xi $, with $ 1 \le \alpha\le 2 $, and that the nonlinear term is of the form $ \partial_x f(u) $ where $f $ is a real analytic function whose Taylor series around the origin has an infinite radius of convergence, we prove the unconditional LWP of the Cauchy problem in $H^s(\mathbb{T}) $ for $ s\ge 1-\frac{\alpha}{4} $ with $ s>1/2 $. It is worth noticing that this result is optimal in the case $\alpha=2$ (generalized KdV equation) in view of the restriction $ s>1/2 $ for the continuous injection of $ H^s(\mathbb{T}) $ into $ L^\infty(\mathbb{T}) $. Our main new ingredient is the remplacement of improved Strichartz estimates by improved bilinear estimates in the treatment of the worst resonant interactions. Such improved bilinear estimates already appeared in the work of Hani in the context of Schrödinger equations on a compact manifold. Finally note that this enables us to derive global existence results for $ \alpha \in [4/3,2] $.

Abstract:We consider the uniform resolvent and orthonormal Strichartz estimates for the Schrödinger operator. First we prove the Keel-Tao type theorem for the orthonormal Strichartz estimates, which means that the dispersive estimates yield the orthonormal Strichartz estimates for strongly continuous unitary groups. This result applies to many Schrödinger propagators which are difficult to treat by the smooth perturbation theory, for example, local-in-time estimates for the Schrödinger operator with unbounded electromagnetic potentials, the $(k, a)$-generalized Laguerre operators and global-in-time estimates for the Schrödinger operator with scaling critical magnetic potentials including the Aharonov-Bohm potentials. Next we observe mapping properties of resolvents for the repulsive Hamiltonian and apply to the orthonormal Strichartz estimates. We prove the Kato-Yajima type uniform resolvent estimates with logarithmic decaying weight functions. This is new even when without perturbations. The proof is dependent on the microlocal analysis and the Mourre theory. We also discuss mapping properties on the Schwartz class and the Lebesgue space.

Abstract:We give a simpler proof for the local well-posedness of the modified Korteweg-de Vries equations and modified Benjamin-Ono equation in $H^{\frac{1}{4}}(\mathbb{R})$ and $H^{\frac{1}{2}}(\mathbb{R})$, respectively. The proof is based on the Strichartz estimate, dyadic decomposition and a bilinear estimate given by a new type of div-curl lemma.

Abstract:Dynamics of zeroth order quantum coherences and preparation of the pseudopure states in homonuclear systems of dipolar coupling spins is closely examined. It has been shown an extreme important role of the non-diagonal part of zeroth order coherence in construction of the pseudopure state. Simulations of the preparation process of pseudopure states with the real molecular structures (a rectangular (-chloro- -nitrobenzene molecule), a chain (hydroxyapatite molecule), a ring (benzene molecule), and a double ring (cyclopentane molecule)) open the way to experimental testing of the obtained results.

Abstract:We develop an abstract perturbation theory for the orthonormal Strichartz estimates, which were first studied by Frank-Lewin-Lieb-Seiringer. The method used in the proof is based on the duality principle and the smooth perturbation theory by Kato. We also deduce the refined Strichartz estimates for the Schrödinger operator in terms of the Besov space. Finally we prove the global existence of a solution for the Hartree equation with electromagnetic potentials describing the dynamics of infinitely many fermions. This would be the first result on the orthonormal Strichartz estimates for the Schrödinger operator with general time-independent potentials including very short range and inverse square type potentials.

Large deviations for dynamical Schrödinger problems

Abstract:We establish large deviations for dynamical Schrödinger problems driven by perturbed Brownian motions when the noise parameter tends to zero. Our results show that Schrödinger bridges charge exponentially small masses outside of the support of the limiting law that agrees with the optimal solution to the dynamical Monge-Kantorovich optimal transport problem. Our proofs build on mixture representations of Schrödinger bridges and establishing exponential continuity of Brownian bridges with respect to the initial and terminal points.

Abstract:The smoothing effect states that solutions to the Schr{ö}dinger equation in the Euclidean space have, for almost-every time, a local-in-space improved regularity (gain of half a derivative in Sobolev spaces). In this note, we show that, for the Schr{ö}dinger equation with a sub-quadratic confining potential, the smoothing effect is equivalent to an escape rate estimate on the associated classical flow. The proof relies on an Egorov theorem proved in~\cite{P:24Egorovinprep}.

Abstract:We show that, after a renormalisation, one can define the square of the modulus of the solution of the fractional Schrödinger equations on the circle with data in Sobolev spaces of arbitrary negative index. As an application, we obtain observability estimates with rough controls.

Abstract:We obtain improved Strichartz estimates for solutions of the Schrödinger equation on compact manifolds with nonpositive sectional curvatures which are related to the classical universal results of Burq, Gérard and Tzvetkov [11]. More explicitly, we are able refine the arguments in the recent work of Blair and the authors [3] to obtain no-loss $L^p_tL^{q}_{x}$-estimates on intervals of length $\log \lambda\cdot \lambda^{-1} $ for all {\em admissible} pairs $(p,q)$ when the initial data have frequencies comparable to $\lambda$, which, given the role of the Ehrenfest time, is the natural analog in this setting of the universal results in [11]. We achieve this log-gain over the universal estimates by applying the Keel-Tao theorem along with improved global kernel estimates for microlocalized operators which exploit the geometric assumptions.
