Abstract:In this paper, we reformulate the Euler-Lagrange equations of Willmore surfaces in S-n as the flatness of a family of certain loop algebra-valued 1-forms. Therefore we can give the Weierstrass type representation of conformal Willmore surfaces. We also discuss the relations between conformal Willmore surfaces in S-n and minimal surfaces in constant curvature spaces S-n, R-n, H-n, and prove that some special Willmore surfaces can be derived from minimal surfaces in S-n, R-n, H-n.

Abstract:In the conformal (Möbius) geometry of submanifolds, using algebraic invariants of the shape operator to construct conformal invariants is a frequently used method. But it does not apply to [Formula: see text]-dim Lorentzian hypersurfaces of the last type, the minimal polynomial of whose shape operator has a triple root. In this paper, using the obstruction of some distribution to be integrable, a new method to construct conformal invariants is introduced. Using this method, a complete conformal invariant system is constructed for generic conformally flat Lorentzian hypersurfaces of the last type. We find that such kind of hypersurfaces allows an infinite parameter family of non-equivalent deformations, which implies they are more abundant than the other three types. For non-generic conformally flat Lorentzian hypersurfaces of the last type, the isometric geometry is studied and a fundamental theorem is obtained in this paper.

Abstract:A three dimensional Lorentzian hypersurface x:M13→R14 is called conformally flat if its induced metric is conformal to the flat Lorentzian metric, this property is preserved under the conformal transformation of R14. Using the projective light-cone model, for those ones whose shape operators have a pair of complex conjugate eigenvalues, we study the integrability condition by constructing a scalar conformal invariant and a canonical moving frame in this paper. It follows that these hypersurfaces can be determined by the solutions to a system of three-order partial differential equations.
Algebraic structures on parallelizable manifolds

Abstract:In this paper we explore algebraic and geometric structures that arise on parallelizable manifolds. Given a parallelizable manifold $\mathbb{L}$, there exists a global trivialization of the tangent bundle, which defines a map $\rho_p:\mathfrak{l} \longrightarrow T_p \mathbb{L}$ for each point $p \in \mathbb{L}$, where $\mathfrak{l}$ is some vector space. This allows us to define a particular class of vector fields, known as fundamental vector fields, that correspond to each element of $\mathfrak{l}$. Furthermore, flows of these vector fields give rise to a product between elements of $% \mathfrak{l}$ and $\mathbb{L}$, which in turn induces a local loop structure (i.e. a non-associative analog of a group). Furthermore, we also define a generalization of a Lie algebra structure on $\mathfrak{l}$. We will describe the properties and examples of these constructions.

Mirror Symmetry for Special Nilpotent Orbit Closures

Abstract:Motivated by geometric Langlands, we initiate a program to study the mirror symmetry between nilpotent orbit closures of a semisimple Lie algebra and those of its Langlands dual. The most interesting case is $B_n$ via $C_n$. Classically, there is a famous Springer duality between special orbits. Therefore, it is natural to speculate that the mirror symmetry we seek may coincide with Springer duality in the context of special orbits. Unfortunately, such a naive statement fails. To remedy the situation, we propose a conjecture which asserts the mirror symmetry for certain parabolic/induced covers of special orbits. Then, we prove the conjecture for Richardson orbits and obtain certain partial results in general. In the process, we reveal some very interesting and yet subtle structures of these finite covers, which are related to Lusztig's canonical quotients of special nilpotent orbits. For example, there is a mysterious asymmetry in the footprint or range of degrees of these finite covers. Finally, we provide two examples to show that the mirror symmetry fails outside the footprint.

Abstract:The aim of the paper is to present two results concerning real hypersurfaces in the six-dimensional sphere S6(1). More precisely, we prove that real hypersurfaces with the Lie-parallel shape operator A must be totally geodesic hyperspheres. Additionally, we classify real hypersurfaces in a nearly Kähler sphere S6(1) whose Lie derivative of the shape operator coincides with its covariant derivative.

Abstract:Suppose H is a cocommutative Hopf algebra and P is the operad Ass, or Lie. For any left H-module V, we construct a graded Lie algebra (LP(V)=⨁n∈ZLPn(V),[,]), and prove that φ∈LP1 satisfies [φ,φ]=0 if and only if it determines a pseudoalgebra structure on V over the operad P, and LP(V) is a differential graded Lie algebra with a differentiation determined by the structure map φ of the H-pseudoalgebra V. Moreover, we construct a Lie algebra by using symmetric Schouten product for any pseudoalgebra V over the operad Lie.

Abstract:Let $H \subset {\mathbb P}^n$ be a real-analytic subvariety of codimension one induced by a real-analytic curve in the Grassmannian $G(n+1,n)$. Assuming $H$ has a global defining function, we prove $H$ is Levi-flat, the closure of its smooth points of top dimension is a union of complex hyperplanes, and its singular set is either of dimension $2n-2$ or dimension $2n-4$. If the singular set is of dimension $2n-4$, then we show the hypersurface is algebraic and the Levi-foliation extends to a singular holomorphic foliation of ${\mathbb P}^n$ with a meromorphic (rational of degree 1) first integral. In this case, $H$ is in some sense simply a complex cone over an algebraic curve in ${\mathbb P}^1$. Similarly if $H$ has a degenerate singularity, then $H$ is also algebraic. If the dimension of the singular set is $2n-2$ and is nondegenerate, we show by construction that the hypersurface need not be algebraic nor semialgebraic. We construct a Levi-flat real-analytic subvariety in ${\mathbb P}^2$ of real codimension 1 with compact leaves that is not contained in any proper real-algebraic subvariety of ${\mathbb P}^2$. Therefore a straightforward analogue of Chow's theorem for Levi-flat hypersurfaces does not hold.

Abstract:From the Riemannian geometric point of view, one of the most fundamental problems in the study of Lagrangian submanifolds is the classiflcation of Lagrangian submanifolds with parallel second fundamental form. In 1980’s, H. Naitoh completely classifled the Lagrangian submanifolds with parallel second fundamental form and without Euclidean factor in complex projective space, by using the theory of Lie groups and symmetric spaces. He showed that such a submanifold is always locally symmetric and is one of the symmetric spaces: SO(k + 1)=SO(k)(k ‚ 2), SU(k)=SO(k)(k ‚ 3), SU(k)(k ‚ 3), SU(2k)=Sp(k)(k ‚ 3), E6=F4. In this paper, we completely classify the Lagrangian submanifolds in complex projective space with parallel second fundamental form by an elementary geometrical method. We prove that such a Lagrangian submanifold is either totally geodesic or the Calabi product of a point with a lower dimensional Lagrangian submanifold with parallel second fundamental form, or the Calabi product of two lower dimensional Lagrangian submanifolds with parallel second fundamental form, or one of the standard symmetric spaces: SU(k)=SO(k)(k ‚ 3), SU(k)(k ‚ 3), SU(2k)=Sp(k)(k ‚ 3), E6=F4. In this paper, using the projective light-cone model, we give a complete classification of those ones whose shape operators have two distinct real eigenvalues and cannot be diagonalizable. These hypersurfaces are conformal equivalent to cones, cylinders, or rotational hypersurfaces generated by B-scrolls (over null Frenet curves) in three-dimensional Lorentzian space forms.

On pseudo-Riemannian Ricci-parallel Lie groups which are not Einstein

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly study left invariant pseudo-Riemannian Ricci-parallel metrics on connected Lie groups which are not Einstein. Following a result of Boubel and Bérard Bergery, there are two typical types of such metrics, which are characterized by the minimal polynomial of the Ricci operator. Namely, its form is either $(X-\alpha)(X-\bar{\alpha})$ (type I), where $\alpha\in \mathbb{C}\setminus \mathbb{R}$, or $X^{2}$ (type II). Firstly, we obtain a complete description of Ricci-parallel metrics of type I. In particular, such a Ricci-parallel metric is uniquely determined by an Einstein metric and an invariant symmetric parallel complex structure up to isometry and scaling. Then we study Ricci-parallel metric Lie algebras of type II by using double extension process. Surprisingly, we find that every double extension of a metric Abelian Lie algebra is Ricci-parallel and the converse holds for Lorentz Ricci-parallel metric nilpotent Lie algebras of type II. Moreover, we construct infinitely many new explicit examples of Ricci-parallel metric Lie algebras which are not Einstein.

The structure of locally conformally product Lie algebras

Abstract:A locally conformally product (LCP) structure on a compact conformal manifold is a closed non-exact Weyl connection (i.e.~a linear connection which is locally but not globally the Levi-Civita connection of Riemannian metrics in the conformal class), with reducible holonomy. A left-invariant LCP structure on a compact quotient $\Gamma\backslash G$ of a simply connected Riemannian Lie group $(G,g)$ with Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ can be characterized in terms of a closed 1-form $\theta\in\mathfrak{g}^*$ and a non-zero subspace $\mathfrak{u}\subset \mathfrak{g}$ satisfying some algebraic conditions. We show that these conditions are equivalent to the fact that $\mathfrak{g}$ is isomorphic to a semidirect product of a non-unimodular Lie algebra acting on an abelian one by a conformal representation. This extends to the general case previous results holding for solvmanifolds. In addition, we construct explicit examples of compact LCP manifolds which are not solvmanifolds.
