Abstract:In this paper, the logarithmically complete monotonicity property for a functions involving $q$-gamma function is investigated for $q\in(0,1).$ As applications of this results, some new inequalities for the $q$-gamma function are established. Furthermore, let the sequence $r_n$ be defined by $$n!=\sqrt{2\pi n}(n/e)^n e^{r_n}.$$ We establish new estimates for Stirling's formula remainder $r_n.$

Abstract:In the paper the author provides necessary and sufficient conditions on $a$ for the function $\frac{1}{2}\ln(2\pi)-x+\bigl(x-\frac{1}{2}\bigr)\ln x-\ln\Gamma(x)+\frac1{12}{\psi'(x+a)}$ and its negative to be completely monotonic on $(0,\infty)$, where $a\ge0$ is a real number, $\Gamma(x)$ is the classical gamma function, and $\psi(x)=\frac{\Gamma'(x)}{\Gamma(x)}$ is the di-gamma function. As applications, some known results and new inequalities are derived.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the generalized polylogarithm $\Phi_{p, q}(a, b; z)$, which extends the notion of classical polylogarithm. A new integral representation for $\Phi_{p, q}(a, b; z)$ is derived. Using this integral representation, we discuss its complete monotonicity along with related consequences and establish bounds for $\Phi_{p, q}(a, b; z)$. In the process, we modify an existing integral representation of the Lerch transcendent function $\Psi(z, s, a)$ to extend its applicability to a larger domain. Additionally, Turán-type inequalities for the generalized polylogarithm $\Phi_{p, q}(a, b; z)$ are explored. Finally, we present an alternative proof of the existing integral representation of the generalized polylogarithm $\Phi_{p, q}(a, b; z)$ using the integral form of Hadamard convolution.

Abstract:In terms of several summation and transformation formulas for basic hypergeometric series, two forms of the Chinese remainder theorem for coprime polynomials, the creative microscoping method introduced by Guo and Zudilin, Guo and Li's lemma, and El Bachraoui's lemma, we establish some $q$-supercongruences for multiple basic hypergeometric series modulo the fifth and sixth powers of a cyclotomic polynomial. In detail, we generalize Guo and Li's two $q$-supercongruences for double basic hypergeometric series, which are related to $q$-analogues of Van Hamme's (C.2) supercongruence and Long's supercongruence, respectively. In addition, we also present two conclusions for double and triple hypergeometric series associated with Van Hamme's (D.2) supercongruence.

Abstract:One variant of the $q$-Catalan polynomials is defined in terms of Gaussian polynomials by $\mathcal{C}_k(q)=\genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{2k}{k}_q-q\genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{2k}{k+1}_q$. Liu studied congruences of the form $\sum_{k=0}^{n-1} q^k\mathcal{C}_k$ modulo the cyclotomic polynomial $\Phi_n(q)^2$, provided that $n\equiv\pm 1\pmod3$. Apparently the case $n\equiv 0\pmod3$ has been missing from the literature. It is our primary purpose to fill this gap by the current work. In addition, we discuss certain fascinating link to Dirichlet character sum identities.

Abstract:In the paper, by convolution theorem of the Laplace transforms, a monotonicity rule for the ratio of two Laplace transforms, Bernstein's theorem for completely monotonic functions, and other analytic techniques, the authors verify decreasing property of a ratio between three derivatives of a function involving trigamma function and find necessary and sufficient conditions for a function defined by three derivatives of a function involving trigamma function to be completely monotonic. These results confirm previous guesses posed by Qi and generalize corresponding known conclusions.

Abstract:We prove that the enumerative polynomials of quasi-Stirling permutations of multisets with respect to the statistics of plateaux, descents and ascents are partial $\gamma$-positive, thereby confirming a recent conjecture posed by Lin, Ma and Zhang. This is accomplished by proving the partial $\gamma$-positivity of the enumerative polynomials of certain ordered labeled trees, which are in bijection with quasi-Stirling permutations of multisets. As an application, we provide an alternative proof of the partial $\gamma$-positivity of the enumerative polynomials on Stirling permutations of multisets.

Abstract:Based on a classical result on partitions of an integer into a finite set of positive integers, we establish a general positivity result on coefficients of certain $q$-series which uniformly refines the positivity of truncated pentagonal number series, truncated Gauss' identities and some special cases of truncated Jacobi triple product identity. As an application, we prove two positivity conjectures due to Merca.

Abstract:Let $\mathcal{K}\left( x\right) $ be the complete elliptic integral of the first kind and \begin{equation*} \mathcal{G}_{p}\left( x\right) =e^{\mathcal{K}\left( \sqrt{x} \right) }-\frac{p}{\sqrt{1-x}} \end{equation*} for $p\in \mathbb{R}$ and $x\in \left( 0,1\right) $. In this paper we find the necessary and sufficient conditions for the functions $\pm \mathcal{G} _{p}^{\left( k\right) }\left( x\right) $ ($k\in \mathbb{N\cup }\left\{ 0\right\} $) to be absolutely monotonic on $\left( 0,1\right) $, which extend previous known results and yield several new functional inequalities involving the complete elliptic integral of the first kind. More importantly, we provide a new method to deal with those absolute monotonicity problem by proving the monotonicity of a sequence generated by the coefficients of the power series of $\mathcal{G}_{p}\left( x\right) $.
