Abstract:We study the branching ratios, the direct CP asymmetries in $B\to K^{(*)}\bar{K}^{(*)}$ decays and the polarization fractions of $B\to K^{*}\bar{K}^{*}$ decays by employing the QCD factorization in the minimal supersymmetric standard model with R-parity violation. We derive the new upper bounds on the relevant R-parity violating couplings from the latest experimental data of $B\to K^{(*)}\bar{K}^{(*)}$, and some of these constraints are stronger than the existing bounds. Using the constrained parameter spaces, we predict the R-parity violating effects on the other quantities in $B\to K^{(*)}\bar{K}^{(*)}$ decays which have not been measured yet. We find that the R-parity violating effects on the branching ratios and the direct $CP$ asymmetries could be large, nevertheless their effects on the longitudinal polarizations of $B\to K^{*}\bar{K}^{*}$ decays are small. Near future experiments can test these predictions and shrink the parameter spaces.

Abstract:The theoretically clean channel B+ -> tau+ nu shows a close to 3sigma discrepancy between the Standard Model prediction and the data. This in turn puts a strong constraint on the parameter space of a two-Higgs doublet model, including R-parity conserving supersymmetry. The constraint is so strong that it almost smells of fine-tuning. We show how the parameter space opens up with the introduction of suitable R-parity violating interactions, and release the tension between data and theory.

Abstract:We calculate one-loop R-parity-violating couplings corrections to the processes H − → τ ν̄τ and H− → bt̄. We find that the corrections to the H− → τ ν̄τ decay mode are generally about 0.1%, and can be negligible. Abstract:We calculate contributions to ${B}_{s}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{B}}_{s}$ mixing through tree-level sneutrino exchange in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model with $R$-parity violation, including the next-to-leading-order QCD corrections. We compare our results with the updated bounds on the ${B}_{s}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{B}}_{s}$ mass difference reported by CDF collaborations and present new constraints on the relevant combinations of parameters of the minimal supersymmetric standard model with $R$-parity violation. Our results show that upper bound on the relevant combination of couplings of ${B}_{s}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{B}}_{s}$ mixing is of the order ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}9}$. We also calculate the ${B}_{d}^{0}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{B}}_{d}^{0}$ and ${K}^{0}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{K}}^{0}$ mass differences and show that the upper bounds on the relevant combinations of couplings are 2 and 4 orders of magnitude stronger than ones reported in the literatures, respectively. We also discuss the case of complex couplings and show that how the relevant combinations of couplings are constrained by the updated experiment data of ${B}_{s}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{B}}_{s}$, ${B}_{d}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}{\overline{B}}_{d}$ mixing and time-dependent $CP$ asymmetry ${S}_{J/\ensuremath{\psi}{K}_{s}}$, and future possible observations of ${S}_{J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\phi}}$ at the Large Hadron Collider beauty experiment (LHCb), respectively.

Abstract:Recently, it was pointed out that the mixing phase in the Bs-Bsbar system is large, contrary to the expectations in the Standard Model as well as in minimal flavour violation models. The leptonic decay widths of the D_s meson are also found to be larger than expected. We show how a minimal set of four R-parity violating lambda-prime type couplings can explain both these anomalies. We also point out other phenomenological implications of such new physics.

Abstract:In the framework of R-parity violating (RPV) supersymmetry (SUSY), we show that the large negative sin(2phi(1))phiK(s) and the large branching ratio for B+/- --> eta(1)K(+/-) can be simultaneously explained. In order to calculate the relevant hadronic matrix elements, we adopt the QCD factorization approach and use the global fit for the available B --> PP and VP modes (without the quark-level subprocess b --> sss) to determine the phenomenological parameters for the calculation. We find that all the observed data can be accommodated for certain values of the RPV SUSY couplings.

Abstract:We analyze the CP violation in the semileptonic | \Delta S|=1 tau-decays in supersymmetric extensions of the standard model (SM) with R parity violating term. We show that the CP asymmetry of tau-decay is enhanced significantly and the current experimental limits obtained by CLEO collaborations can be easily accommodated. We argue that observing CP violation in semi leptonic tau-decay would be a clear evidence for R-parity violating SUSY extension of the SM.

The ABC of RPV: Classification of R-Parity Violating Signatures at the LHC for Small Couplings

Abstract:We perform a classification of all potential supersymmetric $R$-parity violating signatures at the LHC to address the question: are existing bounds on supersymmetric models robust, or are there still signatures not covered by existing searches, allowing LHC-scale supersymmetry to be hiding? We analyze all possible scenarios with one dominant RPV trilinear coupling at a time, allowing for arbitrary LSPs and mass spectra. We consider direct production of the LSP, as well as production via gauge-cascades, and find 6 different experimental signatures for the $LL\bar E$-case, 6 for the $LQ\bar D$-case, and 5 for the $\bar U\bar D\bar D$-case; together these provide complete coverage of the RPV-MSSM landscape. This set of signatures is confronted with the existing searches by \texttt{ATLAS} and \texttt{CMS}. We find all signatures have been covered at the LHC, although not at the sensitivity level needed to probe the direct production of all LSP types. For the case of a dominant $LL\bar E$-operator, we use \texttt{CheckMATE} to quantify the current lower bounds on the supersymmetric masses and find the limits to be comparable to or better than the $R$-parity conserving case. Our treatment can be easily extended to scenarios with more than one non-zero RPV coupling.

Abstract:R-parity conservation is an nd hoc assumption in the most popular version of the supersymmetric standard model. Most studies of models which do allow for R-parity violation have been restricted to various limiting scenarios. The single-VEV parametrization used in this paper provides a workable framework to analyze phenomenology of the most general theory of SUSY without R parity. We perform a comprehensive study of leptonic phenomenology at the tree level. Experimental constraints on various processes are studied individually and then combined to yield regions of admissible parameter space. In particular we show that large R-parity violating bilinear couplings are not ruled out, especially for large tan beta.

Abstract:R-parity violating terms in the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model are studied within a parametrization characterized by a single vacuum expectation value for the scalar components of the Y = -1/2 superfields. The benefits of this efficient parametrization are that it enables phenomenological analyses of R-parity violation without a priori assumptions (such as setting most R-parity violating terms to zero in an ad hoc way). The tree-level fermionic mass eigenstates are derived and shown to be particularly simple in this scheme, involving only the bilinear mu(i) Pi-parity violating terms. Suprisingly large values of these mu(i) are consistent with the experimantal constraints. This is outlined.

Abstract:In the past few years, several hints of lepton flavour universality (LFU) violation have emerged in the $b \to c \tau \bar\nu$ and $b \to s \ell^+ \ell^-$ data. Quite recently, the Belle Collaboration has reported the first measurement of the $D^*$ longitudinal polarization fraction in the $B \to D^* \tau \bar\nu$ decay. Motivated by this intriguing result, together with the recent measurements of $R_{J/\psi}$ and $\tau$ polarization, we study $b \to c \tau \bar\nu$ decays in the Supersymmetry (SUSY) with $R$-parity violation (RPV). We consider $B \to D^{(*)} \tau \bar\nu$, $B_c \to \eta_c \tau \bar\nu$, $B_c \to J/\psi \tau \bar\nu$ and $\Lambda_b \to \Lambda_c \tau \bar\nu$ modes and focus on the branching ratios, the LFU ratios, the forward-backward asymmetries, polarizations of daughter hadrons and $\tau$ lepton. It is found that the RPV SUSY can explain the $R_{D^{(*)}}$ anomalies at $2\sigma$ level, after taking into account various flavour constraints. In the allowed parameter space, the differential branching fractions and LFU ratios are largely enhanced by the SUSY effects, especially in the large dilepton invariant mass region. In addition, a lower bound $\mathcal B(B^+ \to K^+ \nu \bar\nu) > 7.37 \times 10^{-6}$ is obtained. These observables could provide testable signatures at the High-Luminosity LHC and SuperKEKB, and correlate with direct searches for SUSY.

Positivity Bounds on parity-violating scalar-tensor EFTs

Abstract:Using dispersion relations of the scattering amplitudes and semi-definite programming, we calculate causality bounds on the Wilson coefficients in scalar-tensor effective field theories that include parity-violating operators. Particular attention has been paid to the dynamical-Chern-Simons (dCS) and scalar-Gauss-Bonnet (sGB) couplings, along with higher order coefficients, and the interplay between them. For the leading terms, the bounds on the parity-conserving and -violating coefficients are simply projections of the complex coefficients. Some parity-violating coefficients are found to be upper bounded by the the parity-conserving counterparts, or the higher order parity-conserving coefficients. While the observational constraints on parity-violating coefficients are weaker than the parity-conserving counterparts, the causality bounds are of comparable strength and thus may play a more prominent role in constraining strong gravity effects in upcoming observations.
