Abstract:In this paper, we study the partial regularity of the solutions for the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations. We first prove a criterion of local Hölder continuous of the suitable weak solutions of the Boussinesq equations, and show that one-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the singular point set is zero. Secondly, we present a local uniform gradient estimate on the suitable weak solutions and assert that the local behavior of the solution can be dominated by some scaled quantities, such as the scaled local L3-norm of the velocity. Besides, when the initial data v0 and θ0 decay sufficiently rapidly at ∞, the distribution of the regular point set of the suitable weak solutions is also considered. Based on it, one can find that MHD equations are more similar to Navier–Stokes equations than Boussinesq equations. Finally, we give a local regularity criterion of the suitable weak solutions near the boundary.

Abstract:This paper establishes the global in time existence of classical solutions to the 2D anisotropic Boussinesq equations with vertical dissipation. When only the vertical dissipation is present, there is no direct control on the horizontal derivatives and the global regularity problem is very challenging. To solve this problem, we bound the derivatives in terms of the $L^\infty$-norm of the vertical velocity $v$ and prove that $\|v\|_{L^{r}}$ with $2\le r<\infty$ at any time does not grow faster than $\sqrt{r \log r}$ as $r$ increases. A delicate interpolation inequality connecting $\|v\|_{L^\infty}$ and $\|v\|_{L^r}$ then yields the desired global regularity.

Abstract:The global regularity problem concerning the inviscid Boussinesq equations remains an open problem. In an attempt to understand this problem, we examine the damped Boussinesq equations and study how damping affects the regularity of solutions. In this paper, we consider the global existence to the damped Boussinesq equations with a class of large initial data, whose $B^{s}_{p,r}$ or $\dot{B}^{s}_{p,r}$ norms can be arbitrarily large. The idea is splitting the linear Boussinesq equations from the damped Boussinesq equations, the exponentially decaying solution of the former equations together with the structure of the Boussinesq equations help us to obtain the global smooth solutions.

Abstract: This paper aims at the global regularity problem concerning the 2D incompressible Boussinesq equations with general critical dissipation. The critical dissipation refers to $\alpha +\beta=1$ when $\Lambda^\alpha \equiv (-\Delta)^{\frac{\alpha}{2}}$ and $\Lambda^\beta$ represent the fractional Laplacian dissipation in the velocity and the temperature equations, respectively. We establish the global regularity for the general case with $\alpha+\beta=1$ and $0.9132\approx \alpha_0<\alpha<1$. The cases when $\alpha=1$ and when $\alpha=0$ were previously resolved by Hmidi, Keraani and Rousset \cite{HKR1,HKR2}. The global existence and uniqueness is achieved here by exploiting the global regularity of a generalized critical surface quasi-gesotrophic equation as well as the regularity of a combined quantity of the vorticity and the temperature.

Abstract:This present paper is dedicated to the study of the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional Euler-Boussinesq-B$\rm\acute{e}$nard equations which couple the incompressible Euler equations for the velocity and a transport equation with critical dissipation for the temperature. We show that there is a global unique solution to this model with Yudovich's type data. This settles the global regularity problem which was remarked by Wu and Xue (J. Differential Equations 253:100--125, 2012).

Abstract:This paper studies solutions of the two-dimensional incompressible Boussinesq equations with fractional dissipation. The spatial domain is a periodic box. The Boussinesq equations concerned here govern the coupled evolution of the fluid velocity and the temperature and have applications in fluid mechanics and geophysics. When the dissipation is in the supercritical regime (the sum of the fractional powers of the Laplacians in the velocity and the temperature equations is less than 1), the classical solutions of the Boussinesq equations are not known to be global in time. Leray–Hopf type weak solutions do exist. This paper proves that such weak solutions become eventually regular (smooth after some time T>0$$T>0$$) when the fractional Laplacian powers are in a suitable supercritical range. This eventual regularity is established by exploiting the regularity of a combined quantity of the vorticity and the temperature as well as the eventual regularity of a generalized supercritical surface quasi-geostrophic equation.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the global well-posedness for the 3D Boussinesq equations. Firstly, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of the solution in critical space for small initial data. Then, aimed at the large initial data giving rise to global solution, we obtain a certain class of large solutions with initial data slowly varying in one direction. The proof relies on the special structure of the equation and some new refined estimates for the velocity and temperature.

We prove the existence and uniqueness of global smooth solutions and their convergence in the smooth regime to the Boussinesq solution when the regularizations are removed. We also consider a range of mixed (subcritical-supercritical) Voigt regularizations for which we prove the existence of global smooth solutions.

Abstract:We address the long-time behavior of the 2D Boussinesq system, which consists of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations driven by a non-diffusive density. We construct globally persistent solutions on a smooth bounded domain, when the initial data belongs to $(H^k\cap V)\times H^k$ for $k\in\mathbb{N}$ and $H^s\times H^s$ for $0<s<2$. The proofs use parabolic maximal regularity and specific compatibility conditions at the initial time. Additionally, we also deduce various asymptotic properties of the velocity and density in the long-time limit and present a necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence to a steady state.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate some priori estimates to provide the critical regularity criteria for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on and super critical surface quasi-geostrophic equations on . Concerning the Navier-Stokes equations, we demonstrate that a Leray-Hopf solution is regular if , or in Lorentz space , with . Additionally, an alternative regularity condition is expressed as ( ), contingent upon a smallness assumption on the norm . For the surface quasi-geostrophic equations, we derive that a Leray-Hopf weak solution is smooth for any small enough. Similar to the case of Navier-Stokes equations, we derive regularity criteria in more refined spaces, i.e. Lorentz spaces and addition of two critical spaces , with smallness assumption on .
