Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the global well-posedness of solutions to three-dimensional incompressible Boussinesq equations with temperature-dependent viscosity under the smallness assumption of initial velocity fields u0 in the critical space Ḃ3,10. The key ingredients here lie in the decomposition of the velocity fields and the regularity theory of the Stokes system, which are crucial to get rid of the smallness restricition of the initial temperature θ0. In addition, we mention that the improved decay estimates in time is also necessary.

Using the Fourier localization method, we obtain the local and global well-posedness for the system, and give some blow-up criterion with the velocity or the temperature.

Abstract:We are concerned with the well-posedness of the density-dependent incompressible viscoelastic fluid system. By Schauder-Tychonoff fixed point argument, when $\|{1}/{\rho_0}-1\|_{\dot{B}_{p,1}^{{N}/{p}}}$ is small, local well-posedness is showed to hold in Besov space. Furthermore, provided the initial data $(1/\rho_0 -1,\upsilon_0,U_0-I)$ is small under certain norm, we also get the existence of the global solution.

Abstract:This present paper is dedicated to the study of the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional Euler-Boussinesq-B$\rm\acute{e}$nard equations which couple the incompressible Euler equations for the velocity and a transport equation with critical dissipation for the temperature. We show that there is a global unique solution to this model with Yudovich's type data. This settles the global regularity problem which was remarked by Wu and Xue (J. Differential Equations 253:100--125, 2012).

The global existence of strong solutions is established in the vacuum cases, provided the assumption that the bound of density is suitably small, which is in sharp contrast to the recent work (Huang and Wang, 2014), where the smallness assumption on ‖∇μ(ρ0)‖Lq(q>2) is needed. Furthermore, we also obtain the exponential decay rates of the spatial gradients of the velocity and the pressure.

Abstract:We consider the initial boundary problem of 2D non-homogeneous incompressible heat conducting Navier-Stokes equations with vacuum, where the viscosity and heat conductivity depend on temperature in a power law of Chapman-Enskog. We derive the global existence of strong solution to the initial-boundary value problem, which is not trivial, especially for the nonisentropic system with vacuum. Significantly, our existence result holds for the cases that the viscosity and heat conductivity depend on $\theta$ with possibly different power laws (i.e., $\mu=\theta^{\alpha}, \kappa=\theta^{\beta}$ with constants $ \alpha,\beta\geq0$) with smallness assumptions only on $\alpha$ and the measure of initial vacuum domain. In particular, the initial data can be arbitrarily large. Moreover, it is obtained that both velocity and temperature decay exponentially as time tends to infinity.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the initial–boundary value problem of the 3D primitive equations with only horizontal viscosities and horizontal diffusion. We first establish the local well–posedness result of this system, with the initial data belongs to the anisotropic Sobolev pace H0,s(s>12). Then, under the basic and high-order energy estimates, one can extend the local solution to the global one provided that s>1. The restrictions on the initial data is more weaker than the previous results which are obtained by Cao et al. ((2016) [8] and (2017) [9]), in which the initial data belongs to H2 and H1∩L∞, respectively.

Abstract:In this work we prove a global well-posedness result for a tridimensional rescaled Boussinesq system, with positive full viscosity and diffusivity parameters in the framework of critical Fourier-Besov spaces. This rescaled approach permits to know the behaviour of the system according to relations between both the parameters and the initial velocity and temperature; for instance, it is possible to consider, for small enough viscosity and large diffusivity, a large enough critical Fourier-Besov norm for the initial temperature and it is also possible to consider, for small enough diffusivity and large viscosity, a large enough critical Fourier-Besov norm for both the velocity and the temperature.

Abstract:We consider the system of partial differential equations governing two-dimensional flows of a robust class of viscoelastic rate-type fluids with stress diffusion, involving a general objective derivative. The studied system generalizes the incompressible Navier--Stokes equations for the fluid velocity $v$ and pressure $p$ by the presence of an additional term in the constitutive equation for the Cauchy stress expressed in terms of a positive definite tensor $B$. The tensor $B$ evolves according to a diffusive variant of an equation that can be viewed as a combination of corresponding counterparts of Oldroyd-B and Giesekus models. Considering spatially periodic problem, we prove that for arbitrary initial data and forcing in appropriate $L^2$ spaces, there exists a unique globally defined weak solution to the equations of motion, and more regular initial data and forcing launch a more regular solution with $\bs B$ positive definite everywhere.

Abstract:We study an initial-boundary value problem of two-dimensional nonhomogeneous asymmetric fluids with magnetic field and density-dependent viscosity . Applying Desjardins' interpolation inequality and delicate energy estimates, we show the global-in-time existence of a unique strong solution when is properly small. Moreover, we prove that the velocity, the micro-rotational velocity, and the magnetic field converge exponentially to zero in as time goes to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, the initial boundary value problem of the incompressible viscoelatic fluid system is considered. In the contrast to the previous work [Y. Chen and P. Zhang, Comm. Partial Differential Equations, 31 (2006), pp. 1793-1810], [F. H. Lin and P. Zhang, Comm. Pure Appl. Math., 61 (2008), pp. 539-558], [F. H. Lin, C. Liu, and P. Zhang, Comm. Pure Appl. Math., 18 (2005), pp. 1437-1471], and [Z. Lei, C. Liu, and Y. Zhou, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., 188 (2008), pp. 371-398], our main ingredient to solve the problem is to reformulate the original system along the particle trajectory. It is shown that in the so-called Lagrangian coordinate, the system is decoupled, and the well-posedness problem is reduced to the solvability of standard damped-wave equations with a no-slip boundary condition. Finally, we establish the global existence and exponential decay estimate for the equivalent system with the small and smooth initial data.

Abstract:The paper is devoted to investigating the well-posedness, stability and large-time behavior near the hydrostatic balance for the 2D Boussinesq equations with partial dissipation. More precisely, the global well-posedness is obtained in the case of partial viscosity and without thermal diffusion for the initial data belonging to $H^{\delta}(\mathbb{R}^2) \times H^{s}(\mathbb{R}^2)$ for $\delta \in [s-1,s+1]$ if $s \in \mathbb{R}, s > 2$, for $\delta \in (1,s+1]$ if $s \in (0,2]$ and for $\delta \in [0,1]$ if $s = 0$. In addition, if one has either horizontal or vertical thermal diffusion then the stability and large-time behavior are provided in $H^m(\mathbb{R}^2)$, $m \in \mathbb{N}$ and in $\dot{H}^{m-1}(\mathbb{R}^2)$ with $m \in \mathbb{N}$, $m \geq 2$, respectively.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain global well-posedness for the 2D dispersive SQG equation and inviscid Boussinesq equations. Our works are consistent with the corresponding works by Elgindi–Widmayer (SIAM J Math Anal 47:4672–4684, 2015) in the special case ${A=\kappa=1}$. In addition, our result concerning the SQG equation can be regarded as the borderline case of the work by Cannone et al. (Proc Lond Math Soc 106:650–674, 2013).

Abstract:In this paper, we prove local well-posedness for compressible viscoelastic fluids of the Oldroyd model under the assumption that the initial density is bounded away from zero and global well-posedness near equilibrium. The proof of global well-posedness relies on some intrinsic properties of viscoelastic fluids and on a uniform estimate for a linearized hyperbolic–parabolic system with convection terms.

Abstract:We are concerned with the global well-posedness of strong solutions to the Cauchy problem of nonhomogeneous Navier–Stokes equations with density-dependent viscosity and vacuum in R3. With the help of energy method, we prove the global existence and uniqueness of strong solutions provided that the initial mass is properly small. In particular, the initial velocity can be arbitrarily large. This improves He, Li, and Lü’s work [Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 239, 1809–1835 (2021)]. Moreover, we also extend the result of Liu [Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst. B 26, 1291–1303 (2021)] to the case that large oscillations of the solutions are allowed.

Abstract:We investigate a non-isothermal diffuse-interface model that describes the dynamics of two-phase incompressible flows with thermo-induced Marangoni effect. The governing PDE system consists of the Navier--Stokes equations coupled with convective phase-field and energy transport equations, in which the surface tension, fluid viscosity and thermal diffusivity are allowed to be temperature dependent functions. First, we establish the existence and uniqueness of local strong solutions when the spatial dimension is two and three. Then, in the two-dimensional case, assuming that the L ∞-norm of the initial temperature is suitably bounded with respect to the coefficients of the system, we prove the existence of global weak solutions as well as the existence and uniqueness of global strong solutions.
