Abstract:This paper deals with an initial-boundary value problem to the two-dimensional equations of incompressible micropolar fluids. We first prove that as the angular and micro-rotational viscosities go to zero (i.e., γ, ζ→ 0 ), the solution converges to a global weak solution of the original equations with zero angular and micro-rotational viscosities. Convergence rates are also obtained. Then, we study the boundary effects and prove that a boundary-layer thickness is of the value δ(γ) = γ^α with α∈ (0, 1/2) , provided lim_γ→ 0ζγ^1/2 < ∞ .

Abstract:The micropolar Bénard system is derived from the convective motions in a heated and incompressible fluid. When there is only partial dissipation or no dissipation at all, the problem of whether the 2D micropolar Bénard convection system possesses a global classical solution is difficult to be solved. In this paper, we study the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional micropolar Bénard problem with mixed partial viscosity. More precisely, the global regularity and some conditional regularity of strong solutions are obtained for 2D micropolar Bénard problem with mixed partial viscosity.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the initial‐boundary value problem of two‐dimensional Boussinesq equations with either zero viscosity or zero thermal dissipation in the half plane . We show the global regularity for these two cases with initial data and corresponding boundary conditions, based on the existence of global weak solutions. Our result can be regarded as a complement to the works of Chae in 2006, Lai, Pan and Zhao in 2011, and Zhao in 2010.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the regularity of weak solutions to the 3D magneto‐micropolar fluid equations. It is shown that if the velocity field or pressure belongs to some Lorentz spaces in both time and spatial directions, then the weak solutions are regular on[0, T]. In particular, we also obtain regularity criteria for the micropolar fluid equations and the MHD equations, respectively. Our results extend and generalize previous results.

Abstract:This paper focuses on establishing the existence of smooth solutions for the incompressible Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation with Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction and V flow in two‐dimensional domains, including the torus and Euclidean space. The primary objective is to establish global existence results by investigating the conditions under which a smooth solution exists for all time, provided that the L2 norm of the initial magnetization gradient is sufficiently small. Rigorous mathematical proofs for these global existence results are provided by combining analytical techniques and energy estimates. These findings enhance our understanding of solution behavior and regularity in the Landau–Lifshitz–Gilbert equation with DM interaction, shedding light on its dynamics in different spatial domains.

Abstract:We study an initial-boundary value problem of two-dimensional nonhomogeneous asymmetric fluids with magnetic field and density-dependent viscosity . Applying Desjardins' interpolation inequality and delicate energy estimates, we show the global-in-time existence of a unique strong solution when is properly small. Moreover, we prove that the velocity, the micro-rotational velocity, and the magnetic field converge exponentially to zero in as time goes to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the Cauchy problem of 3D viscous and heat-conducting micropolar fluids with far field vacuum. Compared with the case of non-vacuum at infinity (Huang and Li in Arch Ration Mech Anal 227:995–1059, 2018; Huang et al. in J Math Fluid Mech 23(1):50, 2021), due to as , we don't have useful energy equality (or inequality), which is very important to establish a priori estimates in Huang and Li (Arch Ration Mech Anal 227:995–1059, 2018) and Huang et al. (J Math Fluid Mech 23(1):50, 2021). Thus, a new assumption of a priori estimates and more complicated calculations will be needed. On the other hand, we need to deal with some strong nonlinear terms which come from the interactions of velocity and micro-rotation velocity. Finally, we show that the global existence and uniqueness of strong solutions provided that the initial energy is suitably small. In particular, large-time behavior and a exponential decay rate of the strong solution are obtained, which generalizes the incompressible case (Ye in Dicret Contin Dyn Syst Ser B 24:6725–6743, 2019) to the full compressible case.
