Abstract:We present a generalization the G. Letzter's theory of quantum symmetric pairs of semisimple Lie algebras for the case of quantum affine algebras. We then study solutions of the reflection equation for the quantum affine algebras sl(2) and gl(1|1) and their Yangian limit for singlet (diagonal) and vector (non-diagonal) boundary conditions. We construct the corresponding quantum affine coideal subalgebras that are based on the quantum symmetric pairs, and the (generalized) twisted Yangians.

Abstract:We study solutions of the reflection equation related to the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{sl_n})$. First, we explain how to construct a family of stochastic integrable vertex models with fixed boundary conditions. Then, we construct upper- and lower-triangular solutions of the reflection equation related to symmetric tensor representations of $U_q(\widehat{sl_n})$ with arbitrary spin. We also prove the star-star relation for the Boltzmann weights of the Ising-type model, conjectured by Bazhanov and Sergeev, and use it to verify certain properties of the solutions obtained.

Abstract:Let A_q(g) be the quantized algebra of functions associated with simple Lie algebra g defined by generators obeying the so called RTT relations. We describe the embedding $A_q(B_2) \hookrightarrow A_q(C_2)$ explicitly. As an application, a new solution of the Isaev-Kulish 3D reflection equation is constructed by combining the embedding with the previous solution for A_q(C_2) by the authors.

Abstract:We consider the insertion of integrable boundaries for a class of supersymmetric quantum models. The generic conditions for constructing purely bosonic, purely fermionic or mixed type solutions of the graded reflection equation are extracted. Focusing on models associated with gl(m|n) or Uq(gl(m|n)) symmetry, we first consider purely bosonic reflection matrices with special structures, for general values of m, n. These solutions provide the bosonic parts to construct fuller reflection matrices, containing fermionic degrees of freedom as well.

Abstract:In this work we consider open $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ spin chain, mainly the simplest case of one particle. Eigenfunctions of the model can be constructed using the so-called reflection operator. We obtain several representations of this operator and show its relation to the hypergeometric function. Besides, we prove orthogonality and completeness of one-particle eigenfunctions and connect them to the index hypergeometric transform. Finally, we briefly state the formula for the eigenfunctions in many-particle case.

Abstract:We establish a q-version of the Schur-Weyl duality, in which the role of the symmetric group is played by the Hecke algebra and the role of the enveloping algebra U(gl(N)) is played by the Reflection Equation algebra, associated with any skew-invertible Hecke symmetry. Also, in each Reflection Equation algebra we define analogues of the Schur polynomials and power sums in two forms: as polynomials in generators of a given Reflection Equation algebra and in terms of the so-called eigenvalues of the generating matrix $L$, defined by means of the Cayley-Hamilton identity. It is shown that on any Reflection Equation algebra there exists a formula, which brings into correlation the Schur polynomials and power sums by means of the characters of the Hecke algebras in the spirit of the classical Frobenius formula.

Abstract:We derive the solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation associated with a supersymmetric nineteen vertex model constructed from the three-dimensional representation of the twisted quantum affine Lie superalgebra $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}\left(2|2\right)^{\left(2\right)}]\simeq U_{q}[C\left(2\right)^{\left(2\right)}]$. We found three classes of solutions. The type I solution is characterized by three boundary free-parameters and all elements of the corresponding reflection $K$-matrix are different from zero. In the type II solution, the reflection $K$-matrix is even (every element of the $K$-matrix with an odd parity is null) and it has only one boundary free-parameter. Finally, the type III solution corresponds to a diagonal reflection $K$-matrix with two boundary free-parameters.

Abstract:We study the double Yangian associated with the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$. Our main focus is on establishing the Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt Theorem for the double Yangian and constructing its central elements in the form of coefficients of the quantum contraction. Next, as an application, we introduce reflection algebras, certain left coideal subalgebras of the level 0 double Yangian, and find their presentations by generators and relations.

On Separation of Variables for Reflection Algebras

Abstract:We implement our new Separation of Variables (SoV) approach for open quantum integrable models associated to higher rank representations of the reflection algebras. We construct the (SoV) basis for the fundamental representations of the $Y(gl_n)$ reflection algebra associated to general integrable boundary conditions. Moreover, we give the conditions on the boundary $K$-matrices allowing for the transfer matrix to be diagonalizable with simple spectrum. These SoV basis are then used to completely characterize the transfer matrix spectrum for the rank one and two reflection algebras. The rank one case is developed for both the rational and trigonometric fundamental representations of the 6-vertex reflection algebra. On the one hand, we extend the complete spectrum characterization to representations previously lying outside the SoV approach, e.g. those for which the standard Algebraic Bethe Ansatz applies. On the other hand, we show that our new SoV construction can be reduced to the generalized Sklyanin's one whenever it is applicable. The rank two case is developed explicitly for the fundamental representations of the $Y(gl_3)$ reflection algebra associated to general integrable boundary conditions. For both rank one and two our SoV approach leads to a complete characterization of the transfer matrix spectrum in terms of a set of polynomial solutions to the corresponding quantum spectral curve equation. Those are finite difference functional equations of order equal to the rank plus one, i.e., here two and three respectively for the $Y(gl_2)$ and $Y(gl_3)$ reflection algebras.

Abstract:We consider the so-called generalized Harish-Chandra morphism, taking the center of the enveloping algebra U(gl(N)) to the commutative algebra generated by eigenvalues of the generating matrix of this algebra, and generalize this construction to Reflection Equation algebras. To this end we introduce the eigenvalues of the generating matrix of the Reflection Equation algebra (modified or not), corresponding to a skew-invertible Hecke symmetry and define the generalized Harish-Chandra morphism in a similar way. We use this map in order to introduce quantum analogs of the so-called weight systems.

Abstract:By using the notion of a quantum double we introduce analogs of partial derivatives on a Reflection Equation algebra, associated with a Hecke symmetry of GL(N) type. We construct the matrix L=MD, where M is the generating matrix of the Reflection Equation algebra and D is the matrix composed of the quantum partial derivatives and prove that the matrices M, D and L satisfy a matrix identity, called the matrix Capelli one. Upon applying the quantum trace, it becomes a scalar relation, which is a far-reaching generalization of the classical Capelli identity. Also, we get a generalization of the some higher Capelli identities defined by <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://A.Okounkov" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a>.

Abstract:We consider noncompact open $SL(2, \mathbb{C})$ spin chain and construct eigenfunctions of $B$-element of monodromy matrix for the simplest case of the chain with one site. The reflection operator appearing in this construction can be used to express eigenfunction for $n$ sites in terms of the eigenfunction for $n-1$ sites, this general result is briefly announced. We prove orthogonality and completeness of constructed eigenfunctions in the case of one site, express them in terms of the hypergeometric function of the complex field and derive the equation for the reflection operator with the general $SL(2,\mathbb{C})$-invariant $\mathbb{R}$-operator.

Abstract:The symmetries, especially those related to the R-transformation, of the reflection equation (RE) for two-component systems are analysed. The classification of solutions to the RE for eight-, six- and seven-vertex-type R-matrices is given. All solutions can be obtained from those corresponding to the standard R-matrices by K-transformation. For the free-fermion models, the boundary matrices have property tr K+ (0) = 0, and the free-fermion-type R-matrix with the same symmetry as that of a Baxter type corresponds to the same form of a K-matrix for the Baxter type. We present the Hamiltonians for the open spin systems connected with our solutions. In particular, the boundary Hamiltonian of seven-vertex models is obtained with a generalization to the Sklyanin formalism.

Abstract:We propose a classification of the reflection $K$-matrices (solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation) for the $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}^{\left(2\right)}\left(2|2m\right)]=U_{q}[C^{\left(2\right)}\left(m+1\right)]$ vertex-model. We have found four families of solutions, namely, the complete solutions, in which no elements of the reflection $K$-matrix is null, the block-diagonal solutions, the $X$-shape solutions and the diagonal solutions. We highlight that these diagonal $K$-matrices also hold for the $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}^{\left(2\right)}\left(2n+2|2m\right)]=U_{q}[D^{\left(2\right)}\left(n+1,m\right)]$ vertex-model.
Graded colour Lie superalgebras for solving Lévy-Leblond equations

Abstract:The Lévy-Leblond equation with free potential admits a symmetry algebra that is a $ \mathbb{Z}_2\times\mathbb{Z}_2 $-graded colour Lie superalgebra (see <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1609.08224" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1609.08224">arXiv:1609.08224</a>). We extend this result in two directions by considering a time-independent version of the Lévy-Leblond equation. First, we construct a $ \mathbb{Z}_2^3 $-graded colour Lie superalgebra containing operators that leave the eigenspaces invariant and demonstrate the utility of this algebra in constructing general solutions for the free equation. Second, we find that the ladder operators for the harmonic oscillator generate a $ \mathbb{Z}_2\times\mathbb{Z}_2 $-graded colour Lie superalgebra and we use the operators from this algebra to compute the spectrum. These results illustrate two points: the Lévy-Leblond equation admits colour Lie superalgebras with gradings higher than $ \mathbb{Z}_2\times\mathbb{Z}_2 $ and colour Lie superalgebras appear for potentials besides the free potential.

Clumpy Ultracompact HII Regions I: Fully Supersonic Wind-blown Models

Abstract:We propose that a significant fraction of the ultracompact HII regions found in massive star-forming clouds are the result of the interaction of the wind and ionizing radiation from a young massive star with the clumpy molecular cloud gas in its neighbourhood. Distributed mass loading in the flow allows the compact nebulae to be long-lived. In this paper, we discuss a particularly simple case, in which the flow in the HII region is everywhere supersonic. The line profiles predicted for this model are highly characteristic, for the case of uniform mass loading. We discuss briefly other observational diagnostics of these models.

Abstract:We construct a new solution to the tetrahedron equation and the three-dimensional (3D) reflection equation by extending the quantum cluster algebra approach by Sun and Yagi concerning the former. We consider the Fock-Goncharov quivers associated with the longest elements of the Weyl groups of type $A$ and $C$, and investigate the cluster transformations corresponding to changing a reduced expression into a `most distant' one. By devising a new realization of the quantum $y$-variables in terms of $q$-Weyl algebra, the solutions are extracted as the operators whose adjoint actions yield the cluster transformations of the quantum $y$-variables. Explicit formulas of their matrix elements are also derived for some typical representations.

Abstract:GL3-invariant, finite-dimensional solutions of the Yang-Baxter equations acting in the tensor product of two irreducible representations of the group GL3 are investigated.
