Abstract:The reflection equations in a $su(3)$ spin chain with open boundary conditions are analyzed. We find non diagonal solutions to the boundary matrices. The corresponding hamiltonian is given. The solutions are generalized to $su(n)$.

Abstract:The nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz is generalized to study the quantum spin chain associated with the SUq(3) R-matrix and generic integrable non-diagonal boundary conditions. By using the fusion technique, certain closed operator identities among the fused transfer matrices at the inhomogeneous points are derived. The corresponding asymptotic behaviors of the transfer matrices and their values at some special points are given in detail. Based on the functional analysis, a nested inhomogeneous T–Q relations and Bethe ansatz equations of the system are obtained. These results can be naturally generalized to cases related to the SUq(n) algebra.

Abstract:In this paper, we studied the exact solution of the C2(1) invariant quantum spin chain with off-diagonal open boundary condition. We obtain a solution of the reflection equation where the all matrix element of reflection matrix are nonzeros. By using the technique of fusion, we construct the fused transfer matrix and find the closed recursive relations among the transfer matrices. Based on the algebraic analysis, we obtain the eigenvalue of the system and express it as the inhomogeneous T−Q relation.

Abstract:We study solutions of the reflection equation related to the quantum affine algebra $U_q(\widehat{sl_n})$. First, we explain how to construct a family of stochastic integrable vertex models with fixed boundary conditions. Then, we construct upper- and lower-triangular solutions of the reflection equation related to symmetric tensor representations of $U_q(\widehat{sl_n})$ with arbitrary spin. We also prove the star-star relation for the Boltzmann weights of the Ising-type model, conjectured by Bazhanov and Sergeev, and use it to verify certain properties of the solutions obtained.

Abstract:In <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1704.05807" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1704.05807">arXiv:1704.05807</a>, it was shown that the planar flavored ABJM theory is integrable in the scalar sector at two-loop order using coordinate Bethe ansatz. A salient feature of this case is that the boundary reflection matrices are anti-diagonal with respect to the chosen basis. In this paper, we relax the coefficients of the boundary terms to be general constants in order to search for integrable systems among this class. We found that at each end of the spin chain, the only integrable boundary interaction, besides the one in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1704.05807" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1704.05807">arXiv:1704.05807</a>, is the one with vanishing boundary interactions leading to diagonal reflection matrices. We also construct non-supersymmetric plannar flavored ABJM theory which leads to trivial boundary interaction at both ends of the open chain from two-loop anomalous dimension matrix in the scalar sector.

Abstract:We consider noncompact open $SL(2, \mathbb{C})$ spin chain and construct eigenfunctions of $B$-element of monodromy matrix for the simplest case of the chain with one site. The reflection operator appearing in this construction can be used to express eigenfunction for $n$ sites in terms of the eigenfunction for $n-1$ sites, this general result is briefly announced. We prove orthogonality and completeness of constructed eigenfunctions in the case of one site, express them in terms of the hypergeometric function of the complex field and derive the equation for the reflection operator with the general $SL(2,\mathbb{C})$-invariant $\mathbb{R}$-operator.

Abstract:By using a set of gauge transformations (face-vertex correspondence relations), the XXZ spin chain with both transverse and longitudinal magnetic boundary fields is studied. The corresponding reflection boundary matrices therefore have non-diagonal elements. The Bethe ansatz equations, the eigenvalues and the eigenstates of the transfer matrix and the Hamiltonian of the system are obtained in the framework of algebraic Bethe ansatz method. The ground states for different couplings are derived.

Abstract:The nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method is proposed to diagonalize multi-component integrable models with generic integrable boundaries. As an example, the exact solutions of the su(n)-invariant spin chain model with both periodic and non-diagonal boundaries are derived by constructing the nested T-Q relations based on the operator product identities among the fused transfer matrices and the asymptotic behavior of the transfer matrices.

Abstract:In this work we consider open $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ spin chain, mainly the simplest case of one particle. Eigenfunctions of the model can be constructed using the so-called reflection operator. We obtain several representations of this operator and show its relation to the hypergeometric function. Besides, we prove orthogonality and completeness of one-particle eigenfunctions and connect them to the index hypergeometric transform. Finally, we briefly state the formula for the eigenfunctions in many-particle case.

Abstract:By combining the algebraic Bethe ansatz and the off-diagonal Bethe ansatz, we investigate the trigonometric SU(3) model with generic open boundaries. The eigenvalues of the transfer matrix are given in terms of an inhomogeneous T−Q relation, and the corresponding eigenstates are expressed in terms of nested Bethe-type eigenstates which have well-defined homogeneous limit. This exact solution provides a basis for further analyzing the thermodynamic properties and correlation functions of the anisotropic models associated with higher rank algebras.

Abstract:We study descendants of inhomogeneous vertex models with boundary reflections when the spin-spin scattering is assumed to be quasi--classical. This corresponds to consider certain power expansion of the boundary-Yang-Baxter equation (or reflection equation). As final product, integrable $su(2)$-spin chains interacting with a long range with $XXZ$ anisotropy are obtained. The spin-spin couplings are non uniform, and a non uniform tunable external magnetic field is applied; the latter can be obtained when the boundary conditions are assumed to be quasi-classical as well. The exact spectrum is achieved by algebraic Bethe ansatz. Having realized the $su(2)$ operators in terms of fermions, the class of models we found turns out to describe confined fermions with pairing force interactions. The class of models presented in this paper is a one-parameter extension of certain Hamiltonians constructed previously. Extensions to $su(n)$-spin open chains are discussed.

Abstract:We propose a classification of the reflection $K$-matrices (solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation) for the $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}^{\left(2\right)}\left(2|2m\right)]=U_{q}[C^{\left(2\right)}\left(m+1\right)]$ vertex-model. We have found four families of solutions, namely, the complete solutions, in which no elements of the reflection $K$-matrix is null, the block-diagonal solutions, the $X$-shape solutions and the diagonal solutions. We highlight that these diagonal $K$-matrices also hold for the $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}^{\left(2\right)}\left(2n+2|2m\right)]=U_{q}[D^{\left(2\right)}\left(n+1,m\right)]$ vertex-model.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that any translation and $SU_2(\IC)$-invariant pure state of $\IM=\otimes_{k \in \IZ}\!M^{(k)}_d(\IC)$, that is also real, lattice symmetric and reflection positive with a certain twist $r_0 \in U_d(\IC)$, is finitely correlated and its two-point spatial correlation function decays exponentially whenever $d$ is an odd integer. In particular, the Heisenberg iso-spin anti-ferromagnetic integer spin model admits unique low temperature limiting ground state and its spatial correlation function decays exponentially. The unique low temperature limiting ground state of the Hamiltonian is determined by the unique solution to Clebsch-Gordon inter-twinning isometry between two representations of $SU_2(\IC)$.

Abstract:We derive the solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation associated with a supersymmetric nineteen vertex model constructed from the three-dimensional representation of the twisted quantum affine Lie superalgebra $U_{q}[\mathrm{osp}\left(2|2\right)^{\left(2\right)}]\simeq U_{q}[C\left(2\right)^{\left(2\right)}]$. We found three classes of solutions. The type I solution is characterized by three boundary free-parameters and all elements of the corresponding reflection $K$-matrix are different from zero. In the type II solution, the reflection $K$-matrix is even (every element of the $K$-matrix with an odd parity is null) and it has only one boundary free-parameter. Finally, the type III solution corresponds to a diagonal reflection $K$-matrix with two boundary free-parameters.

Abstract:We study open boundary conditions for the $D^{(2)}_3$ spin chain, which shares connections with the six-vertex model, under staggering, and also to the antiferromagnetic Potts model. By formulating a suitable transfer matrix, we obtain an integrable, open Hamiltonian, hence allowing for us to classify different regions of the underlying conformal field theory from eigenvalues of the Hamiltonian.

Exactly solvable subspaces of non-integrable spin chains with boundaries and quasiparticle interactions

Abstract:We propose two new strategies to construct a family of non-integrable spin chains with exactly solvable subspace based on the idea of quasiparticle excitations from the matrix product vacuum state. The first one allows the boundary generalization, while the second one makes it possible to construct the solvable subspace with interacting quasiparticles. Each generalization is realized by removing the assumption made in the conventional method, which is the frustration-free condition or the local orthogonality, respectively. We found that the structure of embedded equally-spaced energy spectrum is not violated by the diagonal boundaries, as log as quasiparticles are non-interacting in the invariant subspace. On the other hand, we show that there exists a one-parameter family of non-integrable Hamiltonians which show perfectly embedded energy spectrum of the integrable spin chain. Surprisingly, the embedded energy spectrum does change by varying the free parameter of the Hamiltonian. The constructed eigenstates in the solvable subspace are the candidates of quantum many-body scar states, as they show up in the middle of the energy spectrum and have entanglement entropies expected to obey the sub-volume law.

Abstract:We derive by the traditional algebraic Bethe ansatz method the Bethe equations for the general open XXZ spin chain with non-diagonal boundary terms under the Nepomechie constraint [J. Phys. A 37 (2004), 433-440, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="hep-th/0304092" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/0304092">arXiv:hep-th/0304092</a>]. The technical difficulties due to the breaking of $\mathsf{U}(1)$ symmetry and the absence of a reference state are overcome by an algebraic construction where the two-boundary Temperley-Lieb Hamiltonian is realised in a new $U_{\mathfrak{q}}\mathfrak{sl}_2$-invariant spin chain involving infinite-dimensional Verma modules on the edges [J. High Energy Phys. 2022 (2022), no. 11, 016, 64 pages, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2207.12772" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2207.12772">arXiv:2207.12772</a>]. The equivalence of the two Hamiltonians is established by proving Schur-Weyl duality between $U_{\mathfrak{q}}\mathfrak{sl}_2$ and the two-boundary Temperley-Lieb algebra. In this framework, the Nepomechie condition turns out to have a simple algebraic interpretation in terms of quantum group fusion rules.
