Abstract:A 33-year-old male patient presented at a dental appointment with bulging of the vestibular and lingual cortical bone in the posterior right mandible, along with associated symptoms that had been present for one year. Radiographic examination revealed a well-defined unilocular radiolucent area with anteroposterior growth, involving the mandibular third molar. A fine needle aspiration and an incisional biopsy were performed, followed by the installation of a decompression device, which was removed after three months.

Abstract:We present a case involving a 29-year-old male patient who presented with an extensive plexiform ameloblastoma in the mandible. The patient had complaints of swelling, paresthesia, and limited mouth opening that had been ongoing for 4 months. Upon extraoral examination, swelling was observed in the right side of the mandibular ramus and body. Intraorally, the lesion appeared as a painless, indurated area with a red-whitish color and a pseudomembrane. The lesion measured approximately 6 centimeters in its largest diameter.

Abstract:Ameloblastoma is a locally aggressive and infiltrative benign odontogenic tumor. A 21-year-old female patient was referred to the oral surgery service due to a radiographic finding. Clinical examination revealed an increase in facial volume in the posterior region of the jaw. Imaging exams showed a well-defined, unilocular radiolucent lesion with a radiopaque halo, extending in the anteroposterior direction of the mandible with displacement of tooth 48. An incisional biopsy was performed, and a diagnosis of unicystic ameloblastoma was made.

Abstract:A 30-year-old male presented with a sizable lesion in the posterior region of his mandible. Intraorally, the lesion exhibited exophytic, mottled, and pedunculated features, with a contour distinct from the adjacent mucosa. A previous diagnosis of ameloblastoma had been established. A panoramic radiograph revealed a wide, well-defined unilocular radiolucent lesion, while 3D imaging from tomography exposed extensive tissue destruction. Histopathological analysis depicted an oral mucosa fragment covered by stratified squamous epithelium with irregular exophytic projections, featuring hyperchromatism, pleomorphism, and atypical mitoses.

Abstract:Ameloblastic carcinoma is an infrequent malignant epithelial neoplasm. A 52-year-old Caucasian male patient presented with an expansive lesion in the posterior region of the right mandible. During clinical examination, a purplish nodule was observed in the region of the right mandibular body and ramus, which was painful upon palpation. Computed tomography scans revealed a single-chamber, low-density lesion in the posterior mandibular area with lingual expansion and areas of bone fenestration. An incisional biopsy was conducted, and the histopathological report initially indicated ameloblastoma.

Abstract:A 46-year-old man visited an oral and maxillofacial center with a complaint of a left mandibular branch lesion that had been increasing in size over two years and occasionally bled. Imaging and blood tests were ordered, and an incisional biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of multicystic ameloblastoma. Subsequently, the mandible was resected and reconstructed using a plate and iliac crest bone graft, secured with two additional miniplates, totaling 20 miniscrews. A one-year follow-up examination revealed no signs of recurrence.

Abstract:A 27-year-old male presented with a chief complaint of a persistently painless swelling situated in the region corresponding to the mucosa supporting teeth 33-37. Radiologic scans depicted a multilocular lesion impacting the roots of the mentioned teeth, extending to the mandible body and base, thereby inducing expansion. A review of the patient's past medical history revealed that an incisional biopsy had been conducted at the same site in 2011, revealing swelling. The microscopic diagnosis at that time was an odontogenic keratocyst.

Abstract:A 46-year-old male patient was referred due to a concern about a lesion in the left mandible. Physical examination revealed a history of an increase in volume in the posterior region of the mandible over approximately eight months. Imaging examinations showed a unilocular radiolucent area in the body and left mandibular branch, along with resorption of the roots of tooth 36. Additionally, an impacted tooth 18 with cystic characteristics was observed in the right maxilla. Incisional biopsies were performed in both the mandible and maxilla, leading to a diagnosis of odontogenic keratocyst and dentigerous cyst, respectively.

The initial treatment involved marsupialization, which led to radiographically confirmed tumor regression.

Abstract:A 42-year-old male patient came to a dental appointment with a firm nodule located at the left mandibular angle and ascending ramus. There was no bone exposure or infection, and the patient had a history of third molar extraction performed one and a half years prior to the consultation due to root resorption associated with an osteolytic, multilobulated radiolucent lesion. A computed tomography scan revealed a homogeneous solid lesion with cortical destruction, primarily on the lingual aspect of the mandible, measuring 20 x 18 mm.

Abstract:A 73-year-old man presented with a 4-month history of a rapidly growing exophytic mass in the right mandible. Imaging exams revealed a destructive radiolucency causing tooth resorption. An incisional biopsy was performed, and microscopic analysis revealed the proliferation of medium to large-sized anaplastic cells with abundant cytoplasm, eccentric nuclei, marked pleomorphism, and numerous mitoses. The neoplastic cells tested positive for CD138, VS138c, lambda, and MUM1, while testing negative for AE1/AE3, kappa, S100, synaptophysin, and EBV (in-situ hybridization).

Abstract:A 35-year-old female reported experiencing pain in the right mandibular region, particularly around the first molar area. During the intraoral examination, a minor swelling was observed in the lingual region of the right mandible. Tooth 46 exhibited extrusion, and tooth 47 displayed a Grade III level of mobility. A panoramic radiograph revealed a multilocular radiolucent area encompassing teeth 46 and 47, with well-defined borders. An aspiration puncture yielded negative results, and both affected teeth were found to be vital.

Abstract:A 16-year-old male patient presented to the oral and maxillofacial surgery service with a painless swelling in the maxilla. Clinically, a noticeable increase in volume was observed in the region of the upper left canine, resulting in facial asymmetry. A cone-beam computed tomography revealed a well-defined, radiolucent lesion measuring approximately 10mm in diameter. Based on the clinical and radiographic appearance, an excisional biopsy was performed. Microscopic examination of the specimen showed a fibrous capsule covered by odontogenic epithelium with extensive intraluminal projections, characterized by the presence of plexiform cords, ductiform structures, and formations resembling rosettes.

Abstract:Ameloblastoma is the most common odontogenic tumor known for its slow and invasive growth, sometimes reaching substantial sizes. The patient, ERS, a 60-year-old individual, had previously undergone surgery for ameloblastoma approximately 10 years ago. At that time, the lesion had occupied a significant portion of the mandible, and a partial resection was performed, along with the installation of a reconstruction plate. Around six months ago, the patient experienced a recurrence of the lesion, which measured approximately 15 cm in its largest diameter.

Abstract:Odontogenic keratocysts (OK) are benign odontogenic cysts known for their aggressive behavior and high recurrence rate. A 39-year-old female patient with a history of breast cancer six years ago, without bone metastases or antiresorptive medication use, was referred to the oral surgery service due to a radiographic finding. The clinical examination showed no intraoral or extraoral changes. Imaging revealed a well-defined unilocular radiolucent area distal to tooth 37. An incisional biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of OK.

Abstract:A 21-year-old female, with a history of past smoking, presented with a complaint of mouth ulcers that had been progressively worsening over the past 6 months. Clinically, she exhibited an 8 cm reddish mass in the right mandible. The mass appeared hardened, smooth, and displayed a granulomatous appearance, along with a diastema between premolars. Although tooth mobility was observed, there was no reported paresthesia or pain. Computed tomography revealed an osteolytic lesion with irregular margins, encompassing the entire alveolar bone, extending down to the mandibular base.
