Abstract:The 2012 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technologies (ICMMT2012) is the eighth of a consecutive series initiated in 1998 to be held in China every other year. ICMMT2012 will provide a broader forum for worldwide scientists and engineers of varied backgrounds to exchange information and share research results to discuss collaborations in the fields of microwave, millimeter wave and even to the far infrared and optical waves. The conference is also a platform for the new faces to become known and for the previous attendees to refresh their friendships. A large-scale exhibition of research achievements and commercial products related to the conference topics, the 2012 Microwave Wireless Industry Exhibition will be held concurrently. A high number of 666 papers were submitted to ICMMT2012 from 16 countries and regions. Aroud 60 TPC members reviewed the papers for their technical merits and the interests to the microwave and millimeter wave community. Finally, a total number of 608 papers were accepted for presentation in ICMMT2012. We have arranged 30 oral sessions and 4 poster sessions from May 6 to May 8 to present the papers. In this large event on microwave and millimeter waves, we have invited 3 Keynote Speakers from research institute and universities. Besides the regular papers, a high number of 242 student papers were received to take part in the student-paper competition. After the peer review by the TPC members, 20 papers were selected to the final list for the three best student papers.

Abstract:6th International Symposium on Social Science and Management Innovation (SSMI 2024) was held in Macao, China during June 8-9, 2024. This conference was sponsored by Research Center of Engineering and Science, and was attended by academicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, government agencies and policy-makers, postgraduates from China and all over the world. The aim of the conference is to provide an interactive platform for the academicians, R & D organizations, industries, innovators, entrepreneurs, government agencies and policy-makers etc., from both China and abroad to exchange ideas on recent researches and advances in the domain of Social Science and Management Innovation with its prospective application in the various interdisciplinary domains of engineering. This two-day conference is being organized in technical association with Research Center of Engineering and Science and will include invited keynote talks and oral paper presentations from both academia and industry to ignite our young minds, to initiate them in the field of meaningful research and thereby enrich their existing knowledge. SSMI 2024 has received 97 manuscripts. And more than 20 submissions have been accepted by our reviewers and the Press. By submitting a paper to SSMI 2024, the authors agreed to the review process and understand that papers undergo a peer-review process. Manuscripts would be reviewed by appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the Conference Committee, who would give detailed comments and-if the submission gets accepted-the authors submitted a revised version that considers this feedback. All papers were reviewed using a double-blind review process: authors declare their names and affiliations in the manuscript for the reviewers to see, but reviewers did not know each other's identities, nor did the authors receive information about who has reviewed their manuscript. The Committees invested great efforts in reviewing the papers submitted to the conference and organizing the sessions to enable the participants to gain maximum benefit. Abstract:The 13th ACM Multimedia Systems Conference (and its associated workshops: MMVE 2022, NOSSDAV 2022, and GameSys 2022) took place from the 14th -- 17th of June 2022 in Athlone, Ireland. The week after, the ACM International Conference on Interactive Media Experiences took place in Aveiro, Portugal from the 22nd -- 24th of June. Both conferences are strongly committed to creating a diverse, inclusive and accessible forum to discuss the latest research on multimedia systems and the technology experiences they enable and have been actively working towards this goal over the last number of years. While this is challenging in itself, demanding systematic and continuous efforts at various levels, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic introduced even more challenges. As it has repeatedly been coined (and shown), restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have had a significant impact on many scholars, such as female academics [1,2], caregivers [3], young scientists [4] and may have exacerbated existing inequalities [5], despite the increased participation possibilities introduced by fully online conferences. The diversity and inclusion chairs of both IMX and MMSys were therefore highly motivated to adopt a set of measures aimed at stimulating the inclusion of underrepresented groups, offering various possibilities for participation, and raising awareness of diversity (and implications of a lack of diversity) for community development and research activities.

Abstract:One of key roles of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) Education Committee is to help with the career development of students and professionals at different stages in their careers. There are at least three major targets of the committee. First, the committee aims to develop multiple education resources, such as monthly MTT-S webinars and the Distinguished Microwave Instructors (DMI) program. Next, the committee shares these resources through different activities and platforms, including undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships, as well as many student design competitions at MTT-S-sponsored conferences. Student newsletters feature review technology articles and announcements regarding the application deadlines of scholarships/fellowships as well as some important conferences. Finally, the committee works hard to increase the regional presence of the MTT-S through a wide range of activities.
