Abstract:The Compressive Light-Beam-Induced Current (CLBIC) method has garnered considerable attention as an emerging fast Light-Beam-Induced Current (LBIC) technique. The detection speed can be enhanced by a factor of 10 through coded undersampling measurements, in comparison to the standard LBIC method. However, the CLBIC method's detection speed is still constrained by the sampling rate (number of sampling times), given that the reconstruction time is negligible for high-performance processors. This limitation poses a significant challenge in the context of multi-spectral assessment of photovoltaic cells, as the prolonged measurement time is required to repeat CLBIC measurements across various spectral bands. This paper introduces a Multispectral Compressive Light-Beam-Induced Current (MCLBIC) method for the multi-spectral assessment of photovoltaic cells to expedite the measurement time. This method can reconstruct the current map of the photovoltaic cell at a lower sampling rate through joint coding of the multi-spectral matrix and solving a multi-objective convex optimization problem. The feasibility of the proposed method and its detection performance are evaluated using a typical three-spectrum MCLBIC measurement model. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the MCLBIC method reduces the number of required sampling times for measurement by 40% compared to the CLBIC method, while maintaining reasonable accuracy. This suggests that the MCLBIC method can further accelerate the detection speed by 40%, based on the CLBIC method. This advantage implies significant potential for enhancing the detection speed in the large-scale multi-spectral evaluation of solar cells. In summary, the proposed method holds promise for improving the efficiency and speed of the detailed evaluation of photovoltaic module characteristics.
