Abstract:Computational Electromagnetics is heavily intertwined with the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. Effective designs for antennas and electromagnetic systems motivated accurate simulation tools that continuously exhausted the available computer resources. This 2-part article traces the development of computational tools and techniques and ties them to milestones in computer hardware, the growth and development of the IEEE AP-S, and some historical events throughout the world.
