Abstract:We prove several formulas related to Hodge theory and the Kodaira–Spencer–Kuranishi deformation theory of Kähler manifolds. As applications, we present a construction of globally convergent power series of integrable Beltrami differentials on Calabi–Yau manifolds and also a construction of global canonical family of holomorphic (n,0) -forms on the deformation spaces of Calabi–Yau manifolds. Similar constructions are also applied to the deformation spaces of compact Kähler manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the following new ingredients: (1) rework on part of the Lagrangian surgery theory; (2) constructions of Lagrangian cobordisms on product symplectic manifolds; (3) extending Biran-Cornea Lagrangian cobordism theory to the immersed category. As a result, we manifest Seidel's exact sequences (both the Lagrangian version and the symplectomorphism version), as well as Wehrheim-Woodward's family Dehn twist sequence (including the codimension-1 case missing in the literature) as consequences of our surgery/cobordism constructions. Moreover, we obtain an expression of the autoequivalence of Fukaya category induced by Dehn twists along Lagrangian $\mathbb{RP}^n$, $\mathbb{CP}^n$ and $\mathbb{HP}^n$, which matches Huybrechts-Thomas's mirror prediction of the $\mathbb{CP}^n$ case modulo connecting maps. We also prove the split generation of any symplectomorphism by Dehn twists in $ADE$-type Milnor fibers.
ON THE SPHERICAL TWISTS ON 3-CALABI-YAU CATEGORIES FROM MARKED SURFACES

Abstract:We are interested in the 3-Calabi-Yau categories $\mathcal{D}$ arising from quivers with potential associated to a triangulated marked surface $\mathbf{S}$ (without punctures). We prove that the spherical twist group ST of $\mathcal{D}$, which is a subgroup of its auto-equivalence group generated by spherical twists, is isomorphic to a subgroup (generated by braid twists) of the mapping class group of the decorated marked surface $\mathbf{S}_{\bigtriangleup}$. Here $\mathbf{S}_{\bigtriangleup}$ is the surface obtained from $\mathbf{S}$ by decorating with a set of decorated points, where the number of points equals the number of triangles in any triangulations of $\mathbf{S}$. For instance, when $\mathbf{S}$ is an annulus, the result implies the faithfulness of the spherical twist group actions, in the sense that ST is isomorphic to the affine braid group of type $\widetilde{A}$. One application is that this faithfulness completes the description of the spaces of stability conditions on $\mathcal{D}$ in the case of affine type $\widetilde{A}$. Other applications include geometric realizations of Amiot's quotient for cluster categories and of simple-projective duality for Ginzburg dg algebras.
Aspherical Lagrangian submanifolds, Audin's conjecture and cyclic dilations

Abstract:Given a closed, oriented Lagrangian submanifold $L$ in a Liouville domain $\overline{M}$, one can define a Maurer-Cartan element with respect to a certain $L_\infty$-structure on the string homology $\widehat{H}_\ast^{S^1}(\mathcal{L}L;\mathbb{R})$, completed with respect to the action filtration. When the first Gutt-Hutchings capacity of $\overline{M}$ is finite, and $L$ is a $K(\pi,1)$ space, it leads to interesting geometric implications. In particular, we show that $L$ bounds a non-constant pseudoholomorphic disc of Maslov index 2. This confirms a general form of Audin's conjecture and generalizes the works of Fukaya and Irie in the case of $\mathbb{C}^n$ to a wide class of Liouville manifolds. In particular, when $\dim_\mathbb{R}(\overline{M})=6$, every closed, orientable, prime Lagrangian 3-manifold $L\subset\overline{M}$ is diffeomorphic to a spherical space form, or $S^1\times\Sigma_g$, where $\Sigma_g$ is a closed oriented surface.

Half-spherical twists on derived categories of coherent sheaves

Abstract:For a flat morphism $\pi \colon X \to T$ between smooth quasi-projective varieties and its fiber $X_0$, we prove that spherical objects on $D^b(X)$ pushed-forward from $D^b(X_0)$ induce autoequivalences of $D^b(X_0)$ itself. Our construction provides new derived symmetries for some singular varieties, which include singular fibers of elliptic surfaces (commonly referred to as Kodaira fibers) and type $III$ degenerations of K3 surfaces. In the case of Kodaira fibers of type $I_n$, we also show the induced autoequivalences of $D^b(X_0)$ correspond to the half twists on the $n$-punctured $2$-torus via homological mirror symmetry. As an application, we describe the autoequivalence groups of elliptic surfaces in terms of mapping class groups of punctured tori.

Abstract:We give a finite presentation for the braid twist group of a decorated surface. If the decorated surface arises from a triangulated marked surface without punctures, we obtain a finite presentation for the spherical twist group of the associated 3‐Calabi–Yau triangulated category. The motivation/application is that the result will be used to show that the (principal component of) space of stability conditions on the 3‐Calabi–Yau category is simply connected in the sequel [King and Qiu, Invent. Math., to appear].
Spherical adjunction and Serre functor from microlocalization

Abstract:For a subanalytic Legendrian $\Lambda \subseteq S^{*}M$, we prove that when $\Lambda$ is either swappable or a full Legendrian stop, the microlocalization at infinity $m_\Lambda: \operatorname{Sh}_\Lambda(M) \rightarrow \operatorname{\mu sh}_\Lambda(\Lambda)$ is a spherical functor, and the spherical cotwist is the Serre functor on the subcategory $\operatorname{Sh}_\Lambda^b(M)_0$ of compactly supported sheaves with perfect stalks. This is a sheaf theory counterpart (with weaker assumptions) of the results on the cap functor and cup functors between Fukaya categories. When proving spherical adjunction, we deduce the Sato-Sabloff fiber sequence and construct the Guillermou doubling functor for any Reeb flow.

Deformations of Lagrangian $NQ$-submanifolds

Abstract:In this paper we prove graded versions of the Darboux Theorem and Weinstein's Lagrangian tubular neighbourhood Theorem in order to study the deformation theory of Lagrangian $NQ$-submanifolds of degree $n$ symplectic $NQ$-manifolds. Using Weinstein's Lagrangian tubular neighbourhood Theorem, we attach to every Lagrangian $NQ$-submanifold an $L_\infty$-algebra, which controls its deformation theory. The main examples are coisotropic submanifolds of Poisson manifolds and (higher) Dirac structures with support in (higher) Courant algebroids.

Spherical Witt vectors and integral models for spaces

Abstract:We give a new construction of the spherical Witt vector functor of Lurie and Burklund-Schlank-Yuan and extend it to nonconnective objects using synthetic spectra and recent work of Holeman. The spherical Witt vectors are used to build spherical versions of perfect $\lambda$-rings and to motivate new results in Grothendieck's schematization program, building on work of Ekedahl, Kriz, Mandell, Lurie, Quillen, Sullivan, Toën, and Yuan. In particular, there is an $\infty$-category of perfect derived $\lambda$-rings with trivializations of the Adams operations $\psi^p$ for all $p$ such that the functor sending a space $X$ to its integral cochains on $X$, viewed as such a derived $\lambda$-ring, is fully faithful on a large class of nilpotent spaces. Our theorem is closely related to recent work of Horel and Kubrak-Shuklin-Zakharov. Finally, we answer two questions of Yuan on spherical cochains.

The Dehn twist on a connected sum of two homology tori

Abstract:Kronheimer-Mrowka shows that the Dehn twist along a $3$-sphere in the neck of two $K3$ surfaces is not smoothly isotopic to the identity. Their result requires that the manifolds are simply connected and the signature of one of them is $16 \mod 32$. We generalize the Pin$(2)$-equivariant family Bauer-Furuta invariant to nonsimply connected manifolds, and construct a refinement of this invariant. We use it to show that, if $X_1,X_2$ are two homology tori such that the determinants $r_1,r_2$ of them are odd, then the Dehn twist along a $3$-sphere in the neck of $X_1\# X_2$ is not smoothly isotopic to the identity.

Sections of Lagrangian fibrations on holomorphic symplectic manifolds

Abstract:Let $M$ be a holomorphically symplectic manifold, equipped with a Lagrangian fibration $\pi:\; M \to X$. A degenerate twistor deformation (sometimes also called ``a Tate-Shafarevich twist'') is a family of holomorphically symplectic structures on $M$ parametrized by $H^{1,1}(X)$. All members of this family are equipped with a holomorphic Lagrangian projection to $X$, and their fibers are isomorphic to the fibers of $\pi$. Assume that $M$ is a compact hyperkahler manifold of maximal holonomy, and the general fiber of the Lagrangian projection $\pi$ is primitive (that is, not divisible) in integer homology. We prove that $M$ has a degenerate twistor deformation $M'$ such that the Lagrangian projection $\pi:\; M' \to X$ admits a meromorphic section.

Abstract:Kashiwara, Polesello, Schapira and D'Agnolo defined canonical deformation quantizations of a holomorphic symplectic manifold and a holomorphic Lagrangian submanifold equipped with an orientation data. The goal of this paper is to use deformation quantization modules to construct a Fukaya-like category of holomorphic Lagrangians, resolving a conjecture of Joyce. Our main result describes the RHom complex between two such deformation quantization modules associated to a pair of Lagrangian submanifolds in terms of the derived geometry of the Lagrangian intersection. Namely, we identify the RHom complex with the DT sheaf associated to the d-critical structure on the Lagrangian intersection. Via a Riemann-Hilbert correspondence this describes the RHom complex in the category of microsheaves of sheaf quantizations of conic holomorphic Lagrangians.

Untwisted Gromov-Witten invariants of Riemann-Finsler manifolds

Abstract:We define a $\mathbb{Q}$-valued deformation invariant of certain complete Riemann-Finsler manifolds, in particular of complete Riemannian manifolds with non positive sectional curvature. It is proved that every rational number is the value of this invariant for some compact Riemannian manifold. We use this to find the first and mostly sharp generalizations, to non-compact products and fibrations, of Preissman's theorem on non-existence of negative sectional curvature metrics on compact products. For example, $\Sigma \times T ^{n}$ admits a metric of negative sectional curvature, where $\Sigma$ is a non-compact possibly infinite type surface, if and only if $\Sigma$ has genus zero. We also give novel estimates on counts of closed geodesics with restrictions on multiplicity. Along the way, we also prove that sky catastrophes of smooth dynamical systems are not geodesible by a certain class of forward complete Riemann-Finsler metrics, in particular by complete Riemannian metrics with non-positive sectional curvature. This partially answers a question of Fuller and gives important examples for our theory here.

Fixed point Floer cohomology of disjoint Dehn twists on a w+-monotone manifold with rational symplectic form

Abstract:We give an explicit description of the Floer cohomology of a family of Dehn twists about disjoint Lagrangian spheres in a w+ - monotone rational symplectic manifold. As a byproduct of our framework, in a monotone symplectic manifold we are able to define a class in the fixed point Floer cohomology of a Dehn twist by counting half strips bound to the given Lagrangian sphere and prove it must vanish. In subsequent work we plan on using this vanishing result to give a new geometric proof of Seidel's long exact sequence.

Abstract:Let ΛQ be the preprojective algebra of a finite acyclic quiver Q of non-Dynkin type and Db(repnΛQ) be the bounded derived category of finite dimensional nilpotent ΛQ-modules. We define spherical twist functors over the root category RΛQ of Db(repnΛQ) and then realize the Weyl group associated to Q as certain subquotient of the automorphism group of the Ringel-Hall Lie algebra g(RΛQ) of RΛQ induced by spherical twist functors. We also present a concrete relation between certain Lie subalgebras of g(RΛQ) and g(RQ), where g(RQ) is the Ringel–Hall Lie algebra associated to the root category RQ of Q.
Bridgeland/Weak Stability Conditions under Spherical Twist Associated to A Torsion Sheaf

Abstract:In this paper, we study the action of an autoequivalence, the spherical twist associated to a torsion sheaf, on the standard Bridgeland stability conditions and a generalized weak stability condition on the derived category of a K3 surface. As a special case, we construct a Bridgeland stability condition associated to a non-nef divisor, which conjecturally lies in the geometric component but outside the geometric chamber. We also discuss the destabilizing objects and stability of certain line bundles at the weak stability condition associated to a nef divisor.

Smooth structures on non-orientable $4$-manifolds via twisting operations

Abstract:Four observations compose the main results of this note. The first records the existence of a smoothly embedded 2-sphere $S$ inside $\mathbb{R} P^2\times S^2$ such that performing a Gluck twist on $S$ produces a manifold $Y$ that is homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to the total space of the non-trivial 2-sphere bundle over the real projective plane $S(2\gamma \oplus \mathbb{R})$. The second observation is that there is a 5-dimensional cobordism with a single 2-handle between the 4-manifold $Y$ and a mapping torus that was used by Cappell-Shaneson to construct an exotic $\mathbb{R} P^4$. This construction of $Y$ is similar to the one of the Cappell-Shaneson homotopy 4-spheres. The third observation is that twisting an embedded real projective plane inside $Y$ produces a manifold that is homeomorphic but not diffeomorphic to the circle sum of two copies of $\mathbb{R}P^4$. Knotting phenomena of 2-spheres in non-orientable 4-manifolds that stands in glaring contrast with known phenomena in the orientable domain is pointed out in the fourth observation.

A Note on Spherical Bundles on K3 Surfaces

Abstract:Some questions are posted at the end of Chapter 16 of Huybrechts' book 'Lectures on K3 Surfaces', concerning the bounded derived category of a K3 surface $D^b(S)$. Let $E$ be a spherical object in $D^b(S)$. The first question asks if there always exists a non-zero object $F$ satisfying RHom$(E,F)=0$. Further, let $E$ be a spherical bundle. The second question is whether $E$ is always semistable with respect to some polarization on $S$ and if there is a way to `count' spherical bundles with a fixed Mukai vector. In this note, we provide (partial) answers to these two questions. In the appendix, Genki Ouchi shows that any spherical twist associated to an $n$-spherical object on a smooth projective $n$-dimensional variety is not conjugate to a standard autoequivalence.
