Abstract:Vector Doppler techniques are ready to substituting the standard methods for blood velocity investigation. However, like in classic Pulse Wave methods, the maximum detectable velocity is related to the Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF), which is limited by the maximum depth and/or hardware constraints. Unfortunately, the blood velocity, e.g. in stenotic vessels, can easily peak at 2m/s, thus resulting in aliased and unreliable measurements. Staggered PRF (doi: 10.1109/TMI.2016.2518638) is a technique that recovers the correct velocities by combining aliased data acquired from bursts transmitted at different PRFs. In this work, we extend the capabilities of a 2D real-time vector Doppler method (doi: 10.1109/ULTSYM.2016.7728428) through staggered PRF technique.
