Abstract:Regardless of the fact that the firms view merger and acquisition as a blooming tactics but the actuality is that the majority of the employees look at such type of approach as a menace for their career development. Mergers are giant, speculative business, and they fail perpetually. The cultures of the acquired firms usually act as a counterculture for the acquiring firm in mergers and acquisition (M&A). This paper reviews the literature around regulating human resource management speculation in a merger and acquisition. The focal point of this review paper is on the contrasting features of merger and acquisition and the disputes faced by human workforce as a consequence of conflict among the merging organisations. Additionally paper addresses regarding the human factor existing in the organisation and the resentment and the discontentment among them as an outcome of M&A. The paper also engages in managing merger and acquisition constructively thereby extending the solutions for the same. Also the focus is on the viewpoint of employees on a merger and acquisition, its influence on the new firm and what measures ought to be taken by the management squad in order to make certain that the employees stick to the organisation. Retaining the employees that they want to keep in the organisation is one of the condemnatory tasks faced by the top management.
