Abstract:We consider the focusing energy-critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation of fourth order iut+Δ2u=|u|8d−4u, d⩾5. We prove that if a maximal-lifespan radial solution u:I×Rd→C obeys supt∈I‖Δu(t)‖2<‖ΔW‖2, then it is global and scatters both forward and backward in time. Here W denotes the ground state, which is a stationary solution of the equation. In particular, if a solution has both energy and kinetic energy less than those of the ground state W at some point in time, then the solution is global and scatters.

Abstract:We consider the focusing energy-critical inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation \[ iu_t + \Delta u = -|x|^{-b}|u|^{\alpha}u \] where $n \geq 3$, $0<b<\min(2, n/2)$, and $\alpha=(4-2b)/(n-2)$. We prove the global well-posedness and scattering for every $n \geq 3$, $0<b<\min(2, n/2)$, and every non-radial initial data $\phi \in \dot{H}^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$ by the concentration compactness arguments of Kenig and Merle (2006) as in the work of Guzman and Murphy (2021). Lorentz spaces are adopted during the development of the stability theory in critical spaces as in Killip and Visan (2013). The result improves multiple earlier works by providing a unified approach to the scattering problem, accepting both focusing and defocusing cases, and eliminating the radial-data assumption and additional restrictions to the range of $n$ and $b$.

Abstract:The purpose of this work is to study the 3D focusing inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation $$ i u_t +\Delta u+|x|^{-b}|u|^2 u = 0, $$ where $0<b<1/2$. Let $Q$ be the ground state solution of $-Q+\Delta Q+ |x|^{-b}|Q|^{2}Q=0$ and $s_c=(1+b)/2$. We show that if the radial initial data $u_0$ belongs to $H^1(\mathbb{R}^3)$ and satisfies $E(u_0)^{s_c}M(u_0)^{1-s_c}<E(Q)^{s_c}M(Q)^{1-s_c}$ and $\| \nabla u_0 \|_{L^2}^{s_c} \|u_0\|_{L^2}^{1-s_c}<\|\nabla Q \|_{L^2}^{s_c} \|Q\|_{L^2}^{1-s_c}$, then the corresponding solution is global and scatters in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^3)$. Our proof is based in the ideas introduced by Kenig-Merle \cite{KENIG} in their study of the energy-critical NLS and Holmer-Roudenko \cite{HOLROU} for the radial 3D cubic NLS.

Abstract:In this work, we consider the three-dimensional defocusing energy-critical nonlinear Schr & ouml;dinger equation i partial derivative(t)u + Delta u = |u|(4)u, (t, x) is an element of R x R-3 . Applying the incoming and outgoing decomposition presented in the recent work [M. Beceanu, Q. Deng, A. Soffer, and Y. Wu, Comm. Math. Phys., 382 (2021), pp. 173-237], we prove that for any radial function f with chi <= 1 f is an element of Pi(1) and chi >= 1 f is an element of Pi(0) with 5/6 < s(0 )< 1, there exists an outgoing component f(+) (or incoming component f(-)) of f , such that when the initial data is f(+) , then the corresponding solution is globally well-posed and scatters forward in time; when the initial data is f(-) , then the corresponding solution is globally well-posed and scatters backward in time.

Abstract:We consider the defocusing energy-critical inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation (INLS) $iu_t + \Delta u = |x|^{-b}|u|^{k}u$ in $\mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}^{n}$ where $n \geq 3$, $0<b<\min(2, n/2)$, and $k=(4-2b)/(n-2)$. We show that for every spherically symmetric initial data $\phi \in H^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$, or preferably $\dot{H}^1(\mathbb{R}^n)$, the solution is globally well-posed and scatters for every such $n$ and $b$ except for $n=4$ with $1\leq b<2$ and $n=5$ with $1/2\leq b\leq 5/4$. We mainly apply the arguments of Tao (2005), but inspired by the work of Aloui and Tayachi (2021), we utilize Lorentz spaces to define spacetime norms. This method is distinct from the widespread concentration compactness principle and establishes a quantitative bound for the solution's spacetime norm. The bound has an exponential form $C\exp(CE[\phi]^C)$ in terms of the energy $E[\phi]$, similar to Tao's work.

Abstract: In this paper, we study the defocusing energy-critical nonlinear Schr\"odinger equations $$ i\partial_t u + \Delta u = |u|^{\frac{4}{d-2}} u. $$ When $d=3,4$, we prove the almost sure scattering for the equations with non-radial data in $H_x^s$ for any $s\in\mathbb{R}$. In particular, our result does not rely on any spherical symmetry, size or regularity restrictions.

Abstract:The purpose of this work is to study the $3D$ energy-critical inhomogeneous generalized Hartree equation $$ i\pa_tu+\Delta u+|x|^{-b}(I_\alpha\ast|\cdot|^{-b}|u|^{p})|u|^{p-2}u=0,\;\ x\in\R^3, $$ where $p=3+\alpha-2b$. We establish global well-posedness and scattering below the ground state threshold with non-radial initial data in $\dot{H}^1$. To this end, we exploit the decay of the nonlinearity, which together with the Kenig-Merle roadmap, allows us to treat the non-radial case as the radial case. In this paper are introduced new techniques to overcome the challenges posed by the presence of the potential and the nonlocal nonlinear term of convolution type. In particular, we also show scattering for the classical generalized Hartree equation ($b=0$) assuming radial data. Additionally, in the defocusing case, we show scattering with general data. We believe that the ideas developed here are robust and can be applicable to other types of nonlinear Hartree equations. In the introduction, we discuss some open problems.

Abstract:We consider the focusing inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation \[ i\partial_t u + \Delta u + |x|^{-b}|u|^\alpha u = 0\qtq{on}\R\times\R^N, \] with $\alpha=\tfrac{4-2b}{N-2}$, $N=\{3,4,5\}$ and $0<b\leq \min\Big\{\tfrac{6-N}{2},\tfrac{4}{N}$\Big\}. This paper establishes global well-posedness and scattering for the non-radial energy-critical case in $\dot{H}^1(\R^N)$. It extends the previous research by Murphy and the first author \cite{GM}, which focused on the case $(N,\alpha,b)=(3,2,1)$. The novelty here, beyond considering higher dimensions, lies in our assumption of the condition $\sup_{t\in I}\|\nabla u(t)\|_{L^2}<\|\nabla Q\|_{L^2}$, which is weaker than the condition stated in \cite{Guzman}. Consequently, if a solution has energy and kinetic energy less than the ground state $Q$ at some point, then the solution is global and scatters. Moreover, we show scattering for the defocusing case. On the other hand, in this work, we also investigate the blow-up issue with nonradial data for $N\geq 3$ in $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$. Abstract:In this work, we mainly focus on the energy-supercritical nonlinear Schrodinger equation, $$ ipartial_{t}u+Delta u= mu|u|^p u, quad (t,x)in mathbb{R}^{d+1}, $$ with $mu=pm1$ and $pu003efrac4{d-2}$. %In this work, we consider the energy-supercritical cases, that is, $pin (frac4{d-2},+infty)$. prove that for radial initial data with high frequency, if it is outgoing (or incoming) and in rough space $H^{s_1}(mathbb{R}^d)$ $(s_1u003cs_c)$ or its Fourier transform belongs to $W^{s_2,1}(mathbb{R}^d)$ $(s_2u003cs_c)$, the corresponding solution is global and scatters forward (or backward) in time. We also construct a class of large global and scattering solutions starting with many bubbles, which are mingled with in the physical space and separate in the frequency space. The analogous results are also valid for the energy-subcritical cases.

Abstract:We consider the focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation $i u_t + \Delta u + |u|^{p-1}u=0$, $p>1,$ and the generalized Hartree equation $iv_t + \Delta v + (|x|^{-(N-\gamma)}\ast |v|^p)|v|^{p-2}u=0$, $p\geq2$, $\gamma<N$, in the mass-supercritical and energy-subcritical setting. With the initial data $u_0\in H^1(\mathbb{R}^N)$ the characterization of solutions behavior under the mass-energy threshold is known for the NLS case from the works of Holmer and Roudenko in the radial [16] and Duyckaerts, Holmer and Roudenko in the nonradial setting [10] and further generalizations (see [1,11,14]); for the generalized Hartree case it is developed in [2]. In particular, scattering is proved following the road map developed by Kenig and Merle [17], using the concentration compactness and rigidity approach, which is now standard in the dispersive problems. In this work we give an alternative proof of scattering for both NLS and gHartree equations in the radial setting in the inter-critical regime, following the approach of Dodson and Murphy [8] for the focusing 3d cubic NLS equation, which relies on the scattering criterion of Tao [27], combined with the radial Sobolev and Morawetz-type estimates. We first generalize it in the NLS case, and then extend it to the nonlocal Hartree-type potential. This method provides a simplified way to prove scattering, which may be useful in other contexts.
