Abstract:The utility model relates to a fully-aluminized high refractive index glass bead, which comprises glass bead bodies (1) and an aluminum plated layer (2), wherein the aluminum plated layer (2) is fully covered on the outer surface of the glass bead bodies (1); the refractive index of the glass bead bodies (1) ranges from 1.90 to 2.21; and the thickness of the aluminum plated layer (2) ranges from 300 angstrom to 1200 angstrom. The method for producing the fully-aluminized high refractive index glass bead comprises the steps of: S1, implanting beads; S2, aluminizing for the first time; S3, compounding; S4, stripping and aluminizing for the second time; S5, removing a bead implanting resin layer B, and obtaining fully-aluminized glass beads. The fully-aluminized high refractive index glass bead has the advantages that: the operation is simple through controlling the coating thickness of a coating machine; the bead implanting resin layer B is a water soluble resin and is soluble in water, the aluminized glass beads can be separated from the substrate conveniently without damaging the appearance, and the qualified rate of products is high; and the fully-aluminized high refractive index glass bead is high in coefficient of retroreflection, has better reflection effect, and is more convenient to use.

Abstract:The invention relates to a fluorescent powder/glass complex applied to semiconductor lighting and a preparation method thereof. The complex comprises 50 to 99.9 percent of boron aluminate glass and 0.1 to 50 percent of rare earth doped aluminate fluorescent powder in percentage by mass, and is prepared by performing hot pressed sintering at the temperature higher than the vitrification point of glass powder. The fluorescent powder/glass complex has luminous performance equivalent to that of the contained fluorescent powder, and has better forming performance, high temperature resistance and luminous stability. The fluorescent powder/glass complex can be combined with an ultraviolet light, purple light or blue light LED chip to manufacture a novel LED illuminating device which has excellent luminous stability, ultraviolet irradiation resistance and temperature stability.

Abstract:The present invention relates to a superhydrophobic glass bead, and to a preparation method thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a superhydrophobic glass bead using chemical treatment, and to a preparation method thereof. The preparation method of a superhydrophobic glass bead comprises the following steps of: increasing surface roughness of the glass bead; and coating a superhydrophobic film on the surface of the glass bead having increased roughness. The superhydrophobic glass bead prevents formation of a water film by water, and has high reflection characteristics.

Abstract:Optical element arrays are acted as the retroreflectors and have pseudo-conjugate property.Bead array is one type of the optical element arrays used in displays,ranging targets and traffic signs.In view of diffraction effects,bigger glass beads being better than usual smaller for far field,we use CO2 laser beam to produce them.In order to increase the retroreflective efficiency and concern the cases of the near and far field,we put forward and realize the technology of inlaying small beads into big beads.In view of principles and experimental effects,our new film is superior to present representative 901 film of Jiaojiang Company of China and 8910 film of 3M Company of America.It displays industrial prospects in update highway signs and in national defense applications.

Abstract:This study was carried out to get the optimum conditions for manufacturing high refractive glass beads from waste fluorescent lamp glass. Chemical composition, X-ray diffraction pattern, particle size distribution, refractive index of glass beads, and the effect of air mixing ratio and ejection rate were investigated. The obtained results are as follows. The X-ray diffraction pattern and chemical composition of glass beads made of waste fluorescent glass are similar to common glass except ReO2 0.0108 wt%, BaO 0.071 wt%, NiO 0.0039 wt% and CaO 7.8 wt% but 11.7 wt% of common glass. Resources Recycling Vol. 29, No. 3, 2020 1. 서 론 폐형광등은 자원순환정책에 따른 자원회수 품목임에도 국내에서 적정처리 되는 양은 35.7백만개 정도에 불과하며 연간 1억 개 이상의 폐형광등이 무단으로 폐기되고 있다. 서울시의 경우 주거지역 증가로 Fig. 1에서 보듯 폐형 광등의 폐기량은 매년 지속해서 증가되고 있다. 그러나 2012년도 이후 부터는 정부와 조명업계·협회·재활용 업 체간에 처리비에 따른 갈등이 발생하면서 전국적인 발생 량은 2013년 60.4톤/일, 2014년 148톤/일, 2015년 48톤/ 일, 2016년 177.5톤/일, 2017년 147.2톤/일, 2018년 89.9 톤/일 인데 비하여 폐형광등 재활용 업체의 처리실적은 2013년~2017년까지는 정확한 수량이나 물량이 확인되지 않으며 2018년 처리실적으로 148톤/년 정도만 확인되고 있다. 서울시를 대상으로 면적별·건물수 고려하여 국가 건물관리 규정에 정해진 건물면적별 조명설치 기준에 따 라 조명설치 물량을 산출할 경우 Fig. 2에서와 같이 약 8,178만개로 산출된다. 폐형광등은 유리, 알루미늄, 구리, 세라믹, 주석, 플라 스틱과 납, 수은 및 희토류로 구성된 형광체 파우더로 구 성되어 있고 처리 및 재활용을 위해서는 유해물질을 제거 하지 않으면 환경오염원이 된다. 폐형광등은 전체 조성 물의 85% 이상이 유리 성분으로 구성되어 있다. 국내에 서 사용하고 있는 폐형광등유리의 화학적 조성은 SiO2 70.2%, NaO 15.9%, CaO 5.68%, MgO 3.12%, K2O 1.12%로 나타났으며, Al2O3 2.21% 및 기타 성분들로 구 성되어 있다. 높은 에너지비용을 들여서 재활용공정으 로 정제된 유리는 현재 일반적 추세로 일반포장용, 콘크 리트용, 아스팔트용, 보도블럭용등 대부분 저가의 골재 대용으로 사용되고 있다. 폐형광등은 독일의 Herborn GmbH 기술도입을 통해 구축된 수도권, 영남권, 호남권 의 폐형광등 재활용처리 시설에서 유리와 알루미늄을 회 수하고 있다. 특히 유리는 Fig. 3과 같이 재활용공정을 거 of waste fluorescent lamp glass have the narrower particle size distribution of and the higher refractive index than the glass beads made of common glass. Abstract:In this study, engineering grade and high intensity reflective sheets were prepared with glass beads and their reflection performance and physical properties were investigated. The reflective sheets prepared by using glass beads are divided into enclosed or encapsulated lens type, depending on whether the glass beads are open in air or not. Because of an extra layer on the glass bead surface, the enclosed lens type reflective sheets show very little change in the properties by bad weather conditions, compared to encapsulated lens type reflective sheets. Optimization of the amount of glass beads on the surface was carried out, which determines the retroreflective properties. Enclosed and encapsulated lens type reflective sheets with various colors were prepared and their coefficients of retroreflection were determined. The encapsulated type reflective sheet with white color shows a coefficient of retroreflection of 210.4 cd/1x·m 2 , which is higher than the enclosed type (74 cd/1x·m 2 ). Effect of washing on the reflective property and adhesive power of the reflective sheets was investigated, and it is found that the number of glass beads decreased with washing and the aluminum layer deposited was damaged extensively in the encapsulated lens type reflective sheets.

Abstract:A novel technique, coating glass with low reflection Si nanofilm by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD), has been successfully developed to address the light pollution problem. The film was studied with Raman spectroscopy. The result show that after annealing, fairly large grain of SiO2 forms on the film surface, which effectively scatters light considerably to reduces the mirror reflectance.

Abstract:Based on the secondary rainbow principle,three kinds of glass beads with typical refractive indices 1.90,1.93 and 2.2 are measured by semiconductor lasers with three different wavelengths(632.8 nm,532 nm and 404 nm).Then dispersion functions are determined according to Cauchy function and experimental results,which show that the normal dispersion characteristic belongs to the glass beads but with the large amount.By analyzing whether the dispersion has effect on retroreflective capability with different incident angles from 0° to 90°,it shows that the retroreflective capability of glass beads with refractive index 2.2 is inferior to those of 1.90 and 1.93.Additionally,the energy distribution of retroreflect lights in the paraxial region is simulated by ray tracing method.And the results indicate that the retroreflective energies of glass beads with refractive indices 1.90 and 1.93 are mainly concentrated in the range of 5°.

Abstract:High refractive index glass beads for TiO_2-BaO-SiO_2 system were prepared. The range of crystallization temperature, forming method and refractive index test were studied by XRD, Gradient electric furnace,OM,etc. The results show that crystallization tendency is increasing obvious for this glass system with increasing TiO_2/BaO(mol). The refractive index n_D of glass beads determined by melting comparison method of solid agent is from 2.0 to 2.1 which is in agreement with theoretical calculating.

Abstract:Abstract High‐refractive index glasses with ultra‐high Young's modulus and superior hardness have significant application in optical lenses. Research indicates that high‐entropy glasses, enriched with high dissociation energy and high‐field strength components, enhance the mechanical properties of glass. In this study, we tailored high‐entropy glasses to achieve superior optical and mechanical attributes by optimizing heavy metal oxide components and adjusting the Al 2 O 3 content. The resultant 10RE 2 O 3 ‐10Gd 2 O 3 ‐32Al 2 O 3 ‐36Ta 2 O 5 ‐12ZrO 2 (RE = La, Tm, Lu) glass demonstrates a refractive index of 2.028, a Young's modulus of 186.2 GPa, and a Vickers hardness of 9.18 GPa. The glass was colorless and widely transparent, in the visible‐to‐infrared region from 312.5 to 6674 nm, and the maximum transmittance reach up to 79.3%. These results indicate that the 10RE 2 O 3 ‐10Gd 2 O 3 ‐32Al 2 O 3 ‐36Ta 2 O 5 ‐12ZrO 2 glass would be useful for camera and detector lenses.

A study of premium glass beads for road marking materials

Abstract:Road markings are a necessary safety feature on almost all roads. For appropriate performance they must be reflectorised with glass beads. To demonstrate the differences between traditional and modern thin-layer road marking solutions, four road marking systems were compared in the field. Based on measurements of retroreflectivity, influence of glass beads and paint on service life was estimated. The use of high-performance waterborne paint reflectorised with premium glass beads permitted for over sixfold extension of durability. Financial analysis demonstrated that the considerable additional expense associated with purchase of modern materials was fully offset through increased service life: even 65% savings could be realised in the long term. Subsequent analysis of the used glass beads under optical and scanning electron microscopes provided information about their surface; intact and damaged glass beads were observed. Surprisingly, damaged glass beads were found to have crater-like surface features instead of the expected scratches.

Abstract:Anti-reflective (AR) films have been widely investigated due to their various applications in optoelectronic devices. Among all the investigation, the manufacturing method is the most popular research field which directly determines the performance of anti-reflective films. Herein, Na2HPO4 and AlCl3 mixed neutral solution were used to etch the surface of K9 glass matrix to obtain the AR structure. The morphology of SEM images indicated that subwavelength structure (SWS) was formed on the glass surface via precisely controlling the solution concentration, treatment time and temperature. Owing to the porous structure, the refractive index mutation of the interface between air and glassss can be effectively weakened. Therefore, the integral transmittance, covering the whole visible light (VIS) to near-infrared (NIR) wavelength (300-2500 nm), of glass matrix was increased remarkably to 95.77%, much higher than 87.72% of blank glass, achieving the effect of ultra-wideband anti-reflection. Particularly, the transmittance at 520 nm and 1990 nm can even reach to 99.14% and 97.86%, respectively. According to the composite analysis and reaction process, Al3+ ions act as both the regulator of the solution pH and part of the new-formed glass skeleton, resulting in the more uniform and regular SWS on the glass surface. Moreover, in virtue of -OH in silanol (Si-OH) on the expanded glass surface attracting more H2O molecules or additional silylation modification on glass surface repulsing H2O molecules, the surface characteristics of AR glass with SWS films can be easily turned between hydrophilic and hydrophobic in order to meet the requirements of various application environments. These ultra-wideband AR glasses with controllable hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties are expected to be applied in many optoelectronic fields.

Abstract:Abstract Road traffic markings are made of glass beads embedded in paint. To analyze the effects of glass-bead radius, embedment depth, correlated color temperature of light sources, and incident angle on the reflective performance of glass beads, a numerical model is established using the geometric optics method, effective light conditions are analyzed, calculation methods for optical power devised, and non-standard planes of incident light calculated. Calculations were also carried out. Results show that the retroreflective properties of glass beads are positively correlated with the correlated color temperature of the light source and radius of the beads. The glass-bead radii, embedment depths, and incident angles have little effect on their reflective performance. Moreover, the correlated color temperature of the light source is an important factor affecting the accuracy of measuring glass-bead reflective performance. When using retro reflectometers, standard retro reflectance-measuring devices for retro reflectance measurement, and other equipment to evaluate the reflective performance of road traffic markings, the correlated color temperature of the light source of the equipment should be as close as possible to 2856 K.

Abstract:The optical glass by a glass block containing phosphorus, oxygen and fluorine is formed is heated to a temperature capable of molding, the case where the surface of the glass blocks often hardened by crystallization. Especially for a high temperature and subjected to compression molding in the embodiment of polishing the glass, the crystallized glass block problems during molding surface significantly. The method of manufacturing a glass molded product of the present invention comprises the steps of: covering agent containing phosphorus in the step of coating the surface of the glass block is formed of optical glass containing phosphorus, oxygen and fluorine; and the coating of the coating agent heating to soften the glass block, and a step of molding.

Abstract:The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a reflecting film with a micro-prism array structure. In the prior art, a photosensitive resin is used as a micro-prism forming material, which has the disadvantages of small material selection range, high production cost, poor subsequent processing property of the reflecting film and small application range. In the invention, an annular die capable of reciprocally moving along a closed loop is adopted to manufacture the reflecting film, and a recessed continuous micro-prism array structure is arranged on the outer surface of the annular die. The manufacturing method comprises the following steps: applying hot-melt resin on one side surface of a resin film; synchronously molding the resin film, the hot-melt resin and the annular die; and synchronously cooling the resin film with the hot-melt resin and the annular die, so that the resin film with the hot-melt resin and the micro-prism array structure on the hot-melt resin layer form a laminated film. The manufacturing method has the advantages of wide selection range of the micro-prism forming material and low production cost, and is beneficial to the subsequent processing and use of the reflecting film; and the reflecting film has the advantages of wide application range, and the like.

Abstract:This study presents the creation of a gradient refractive index film on the surface of aluminosilicate glass using a two-step process involving chemical etching and subsequent multilayer sol-gel coating with hollow silica nanospheres. The primary objective was to achieve effective anti-reflection properties. Various analytical techniques such as FESEM, TEM, UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometry, ellipsometer, and FT-IR spectrometry were employed to investigate the impact of glass surface morphology and refractive index on optical characteristics. The results revealed the successful formation of a porous structure on the glass surface through chemical etching. Subsequently, this porous structure was uniformly filled and layered with hollow silica spheres of different sizes, resulting in a stepwise gradient refractive index coating. Notably, the pore size of the hollow spherical silica colloidal particles progressively increased from 0 nm to 23 nm, corresponding to distinct film thicknesses and refractive indices. This stepwise modulation contributed to the establishment of a gradient refractive index within the coating. By transitioning the refractive index of the film layer from that of glass to air, the film acted as a matching layer, thereby achieving broadband anti-reflection. The efficiency of this anti-reflection was demonstrated by an increase in transmittance from an initial value of 91.8-95.32% following the two-step etching process. With the subsequent SiO2 coating, the transmittance continued to improve, ultimately reaching a high value of 97.47%. This improvement in transmittance was attributed to the gradual enhancement of the film layer.

Abstract:The invention discloses low-melting-point glass powder. The low-melting-point glass powder comprises the following components in percentage by weight: 12%-14% of SiO2, 50%-60% of PbO, 15%-20% of Na2O, 6%-7% of Al2O3 and 2.5%-3.5% of B2O3, wherein the sum of the weight percentage of the components is 100%. The invention also discloses a preparation method of the low-melting-point glass powder. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: ball-milling the components, standing still, smelting to obtain molten glass, hardening and quenching the molten glass, drying to obtain small glass particles, and finally carrying out ball-milling on the small glass particles to obtain the low-melting-point glass powder. The low-melting-point glass powder disclosed by the invention has the advantages of low softening temperature, low quality loss ratio, large specific surface area and small particle sizes. The preparation method of the low-melting-point glass powder, disclosed by the invention, has the advantages of simpleness, high production efficiency and low cost.

Abstract:A simple method to prepare glass surface with anti-reflection and self-cleaning by ammonium hydroxide solution hydrothermal process is reported here. The transmittance of glass in visible light is enhanced from 91% to 98% in the wavelength range of 450 similar to 550 nm after the treatment. The maximal increase of transmittance is as high as 7.3% near 500 nm wavelength (double-sided surfaces). Scanning electron microscope results showed that different porous nanostructured layers are formed, including massive bulges, networked irregular nanoflakes and worm-eaten nanoflakes, under different treatment conditions. The thickness of nanostructured layers will increase with the extending of treatment temperature and time. We also demonstrated that the treated glass surface under the optimized condition has not only high light transmittance and superhydrophilicity, but also better anti-dust property.
