Points Then the Total: The Contemporary Valueand World Influence of Chinese Traditional Culture

Abstract:In how to treat the issue of Chinese traditional culture,there are always three viewpoints: supporting faction,suppressing faction and neutral faction.But the common overall Abstract qualitative method which they adopt is not reliable,so we need new ways to try something new.That is,in the perspective of culture tool theory,with reference to the modern culture and alien culture,take seven compositions of Chinese traditional culture: the language,religion,science,technology,philosophy,art and rules,as different functional tools to assess them individually,and then form a general evaluation of Chinese traditional culture.Thus we can conclude that,in Chinese traditional culture,only the traditional language and religions are able to stand still in use today as their original ways and not losing effectiveness;although the traditional philosophy and arts are basically able to stand still in use today,but the reward power to Chinese nation is not so much as they had been created;as for the traditional scientific techniques and rules belong to things which are already backward on the overall trend.Therefore,in general the Chinese traditional culture can not adapt to the contemporary social reality and meet the needs of modern people,while its global influence,is mainly embodied in the attraction to other nations rather than assimilation.
