Abstract:Let L = − Δ H n + μ be a generalized Schrödinger operator on the Heisenberg group H n , where Δ H n is the sub-Laplacian, and μ is a nonnegative Radon measure satisfying certain conditions. In this paper, we first establish some estimates of the fundamental solution and the heat kernel of L. Applying these estimates, we then study the Hardy spaces H L 1 ( H n ) introduced in terms of the maximal function associated with the heat semigroup e − t L ; in particular, we obtain an atomic decomposition of H L 1 ( H n ) , and prove the Riesz transform characterization of H L 1 ( H n ) . The dual space of H L 1 ( H n ) is also studied.

Abstract:Burq-Gérard-Tzvetkov and Hu established $L^p$ estimates for the restriction of Laplace-Beltrami eigenfunctions to submanifolds. We investigate the eigenfunctions of the Schrödinger operators with critically singular potentials, and estimate the $L^p$ norms and period integrals for their restriction to submanifolds. Recently, Blair-Sire-Sogge obtained global $L^p$ bounds for Schrödinger eigenfunctions by the resolvent method. Due to the Sobolev trace inequalities, the resolvent method cannot work for submanifolds of all dimensions. We get around this difficulty and establish spectral projection bounds by the wave kernel techniques and the bootstrap argument involving an induction on the dimensions of the submanifolds.

Abstract:We obtain improved Strichartz estimates for solutions of the Schrödinger equation on compact manifolds with nonpositive sectional curvatures which are related to the classical universal results of Burq, Gérard and Tzvetkov [11]. More explicitly, we are able refine the arguments in the recent work of Blair and the authors [3] to obtain no-loss $L^p_tL^{q}_{x}$-estimates on intervals of length $\log \lambda\cdot \lambda^{-1} $ for all {\em admissible} pairs $(p,q)$ when the initial data have frequencies comparable to $\lambda$, which, given the role of the Ehrenfest time, is the natural analog in this setting of the universal results in [11]. We achieve this log-gain over the universal estimates by applying the Keel-Tao theorem along with improved global kernel estimates for microlocalized operators which exploit the geometric assumptions.

Abstract:We prove that the noncommutative Lorentz norm (associated to a semifinite von Neumann algebra) of a propagator of the form $\varphi(|\mathscr{L}|)$ can be estimated if the Borel function $\varphi$ is bounded by a positive monotonically decreasing vanishing at infinity continuous function $\psi$. As a consequence we obtain the $L^p-L^q$ $(1<p\leqslant 2\leqslant q<+\infty)$ norm estimates for the solutions of heat, wave and Schrödinger type equations (new in this setting) on a locally compact separable unimodular group $G$ by using a non-local integro-differential operator in time and any positive left invariant operator (maybe unbounded and either with discrete or continuous spectrum) on $G$. We also provide asymptotic estimates (large-time behavior) for the solutions which in some cases can be claimed to be sharp. Illustrative examples are given for several groups.

Abstract:We show that the dual to any subspace of $c_0(\Gamma)$ has the strongest possible quantitative version of the Schur property. Further, we establish relationship between the quantitative Schur property and quantitative versions of the Dunford-Pettis property. Finally, we apply these results to show, in particular, that any subspace of the space of compact operators on $\ell_p$ ($1<p<\infty$) with Dunford-Pettis property satisfies automatically both its quantitative versions.

Abstract:Let be a doubling metric measure space in the sense of R. R. Coifman and G. Weiss, L a non-negative self-adjoint operator on satisfying the Davies–Gaffney estimate, and a ball quasi-Banach function space on satisfying some extra mild assumptions. In this article, the authors introduce the Hardy type space by the Lusin area function associated with L and establish the atomic and the molecular characterizations of As an application of these characterizations of , the authors obtain the boundedness of spectral multiplies on . Moreover, when L satisfies the Gaussian upper bound estimate, the authors further characterize in terms of the Littlewood–Paley functions and and establish the boundedness estimate of Schrödinger groups on . Specific spaces to which these results can be applied include Lebesgue spaces, Orlicz spaces, weighted Lebesgue spaces, and variable Lebesgue spaces. This shows that the results obtained in the article have extensive generality.

Abstract:Let L = -Delta + V be a Schrodinger operator in R(d) and H(L)(1)(R(d)) be the Hardy type space associated to L. We investigate the bilinear operators T(+) and T(-) defined byT(+/-)(f, g)(x) = (T(1)f)(x)(T(2)g)(x) +/- (T(2)f)(x)(T(1)g)(x),where T(1) and T(2) are Calderon-Zygmund operators related to L. Under some general conditions, we prove that either T(+) or T(-) is bounded from L(p)(R(d)) x L(q) (R(d)) to H(L)(1)(R(d)) for 1 < p, q < infinity with 1/p + 1/q = 1. Several examples satisfying these conditions are given. We also give a counterexample for which the classical Hardy space estimate fails.

Abstract:First, we solve a crucial problem under which conditions increasing uniform K-monotonicity is equivalent to lower locally uniform K-monotonicity. Next, we investigate properties of substochastic operators on $L^1+L^\infty$ with applications. Namely, we show that a countable infinite combination of substochastic operators is also substochastic. Using K-monotonicity properties, we prove several theorems devoted to the convergence of the sequence of substochastic operators in the norm of a symmetric space E under addition assumption on E. In our final discussion we focus on compactness of admissible operators for arbitrary Banach couples.

Abstract: Let $L= -\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^n}+V$ be a Schr\"odinger operator on the Heisenberg group $\mathbb{H}^n$, where $\Delta_{\mathbb{H}^n}$ is the sub-Laplacian and the nonnegative potential $V$ belongs to the reverse H\"older class $B_{\frac{Q}{2}}$ and $Q$ is the homogeneous dimension of $\mathbb{H}^n$. The Riesz transforms associated with the Schr\"odinger operator $L$ are bounded from $L^1(\mathbb{H}^n)$ to $L^{1,\infty}(\mathbb{H}^n)$. The $L^1$ integrability of the Riesz transforms associated with $L$ characterizes a certain Hardy type space denoted by $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$ which is larger than the usual Hardy space $H^1(\mathbb{H}^n)$. We define $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$ in terms of the maximal function with respect to the semigroup $\big \{e^{-s L}:\; s>0 \big\}$, and give the atomic decomposition of $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$. As an application of the atomic decomposition theorem, we prove that $H^1_L(\mathbb{H}^n)$ can be characterized by the Riesz transforms associated with $L$. All results hold for stratified groups as well.

Abstract:We extend the estimates proved by Donnelly and Fefferman, and by Lebeau, Robbiano and Zuazua, for sums of eigenfunctions of the Laplacian (on a compact manifold) to estimates for sums of eigenfunctions of any positive and elliptic pseudo-differential operator of positive order on a compact Lie group. Our criteria are imposed in terms of the positivity of the corresponding matrix-valued symbol of the operator. As an application of these inequalities in control theory, we obtain the null-controllability for diffusion models for elliptic pseudo-differential operators on compact Lie groups.

Abstract:Let L=-Δ+V be a Schrödinger operator on Rn,n≥3, where V≢0 is a nonnegative potential belonging to the reverse Hölder class Bn/2. The Hardy type spaces HLp, n/(n+δ) 0, are defined in terms of the maximal function with respect to the semigroup {e-tL}t>0. In this paper, we investigate the bounded properties of some singular integral operators related to L, such as Liγ and ∇L-1/2, on spaces HLp. We give the molecular characterization of HLp, which is used to establish the HLp-boundedness of singular integrals.

Abstract:We consider kernel operators defined by a dynamical system. The Hausdorff distance of spectra is estimated by the Hausdorff distance of subsystems. We prove that the spectrum map is $ \frac{1}{2} $-Hölder continuous provided the group action and kernel are Lipschitz continuous and the group has strict polynomial growth. Also, we prove that the continuity can be improved resulting in the spectrum map being Lipschitz continuous provided the kernel is instead locally-constant. This complements a 1990 result by J.~Avron; P.H.M.v.~Mouche; B.~Simon establishing that one-dimensional discrete quasiperiodic Schrödinger operators with Lipschitz continuous potentials, e.g., the Almost Mathieu Operator, exhibit spectral $ \frac{1}{2} $-Hölder continuity. Also, this complements a 2019 result by S.~Beckus; J.~Bellissard; H.~Cornean establishing that $ d $-dimensional discrete subshift Schrödinger operators with locally-constant potentials, e.g., the Fibonacci Hamiltonian, exhibit spectral Lipschitz continuity. Our work exposes the connection between the past two results, and the group, e.g., the Heisenberg group, needs not be the integer lattice nor abelian.

Abstract:We study the number $N_{<0}(H_s)$ of negative eigenvalues, counting multiplicities, of the fractional Schrödinger operator $H_s=(-\Delta)^s-V(x)$ on $L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)$, for any $d\ge1$ and $s\ge d/2$. We prove a bound on $N_{<0}(H_s)$ which depends on $s-d/2$ being either an integer or not, the critical case $s=d/2$ requiring a further analysis. Our proof relies on a splitting of the Birman-Schwinger operator associated to this spectral problem into low- and high-energies parts, a projection of the low-energies part onto a suitable subspace, and, in the critical case $s=d/2$, a Cwikel-type estimate in the weak trace ideal $\mathcal{L}^{2,\infty}$ to handle the high-energies part.
