Abstract:We establish sharp lower bonds for the 2 k -th moment of families of quadratic twists of modular L -functions at the central point for all real , assuming a conjecture of S. Chowla on the non-vanishing of these L -values.

Abstract:Radziwill and Soundararajan unveiled a connection between low-lying zeros and central values of $L$-functions, which they instantiated in the case of quadratic twists of an elliptic curve. This paper addresses the case of the family of modular forms in the level aspect, and proves that the logarithms of central values of associated L-functions approximately distribute along a normal law with mean -(1/2)log log c(f) and variance log log c(f), where c(f) is the analytic conductor of f, as predicted by the Keating-Snaith conjecture.

Abstract:In this article, we aim to establish a prototype result regarding lower bounds of (joint) distributions of central $L'$-values through extending a method of Radziwill and Soundararajan of proving conditional bounds for distributions of central $L$-values (via the one-level density of low-lying zeros of involving $L$-functions). To illustrate this, we give several conditional bounds towards joint distributions of central $L'$-values and orders of Tate-Shafarevich groups in rank-one families of quadratic twists. As an application, we derive a simultaneous non-vanishing result for central $L'$-values in families of quadratic twists of triples of holomorphic modular forms.

Abstract:We compute a lower bound of the canonical height on quadratic twists of elliptic curves over $\Q$. Also, we show a simple method for constructing families of quadratic twists with an explicit rational point. Using the above lower bound, we show that the explicit rational point is primitive as an element of the Mordell-Weil group.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the smooth cubic moments vanish for the Hecke--Maass cusp forms, which gives a new case of the random wave conjecture. In fact, we can prove a polynomial decay for the smooth cubic moments, while for the smooth second moment (i.e. QUE) no rate of decay is known unconditionally for general Hecke--Maass cusp forms. The proof bases on various estimates of moments of central $L$-values. We prove the Lindelöf on average bound for the first moment of $\rm GL(3)\times GL(2)$ $L$-functions in short intervals of the subconvexity strength length, and the convexity strength upper bound for the mixed moment of $\rm GL(2)$ and the triple product $L$-functions. In particular, we prove new subconvexity bounds of certain $\rm GL(3)\times GL(2)$ $L$-functions.

Abstract:We establish a general principle that any lower bound on the non-vanishing of central $L$-values obtained through studying the one-level density of low-lying zeros can be refined to show that most such $L$-values have the typical size conjectured by Keating and Snaith. We illustrate this technique in the case of quadratic twists of a given elliptic curve, and similar results would hold for the many examples studied by Iwaniec, Luo, and Sarnak in their pioneering work on $1$-level densities.

Abstract:We give an asymptotic formula with power saving error term for the twisted first moment of symmetric square L-functions on GL(3) in the level aspect. As applications, we obtain non-vanishing results as well as lower bounds of the expected order of magnitude for all even moments, supporting the random matrix model for a unitary ensemble. Besides the GL(3) Kuznetsov formula, the ingredients include detailed local computations at ramified places, including root numbers and orthonormalization of oldforms and Eisenstein series.
