Abstract:In this study, Cu-BTC was used as the precursor of Cu-MOF by calcination to achieve the transformation of metal active sites to the low valence state. The metal active sites in the low valence state are more favorable to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) to achieve the efficient removal of oxytetracycline (OTC). The effects of different factors on the degradation system were verified by batch experiments. Free radical quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) confirmed that •OH and 1O2 were the main oxidatively active substances for the degradation of OTC. The intermediates of different molecular weights generated during the decomposition of OTC were detected by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to further speculate the possible degradation pathways, and the existence of the degradation pathways was verified by in situ infrared. The biotoxicity and developmental toxicity of OTC and its degradation intermediates were analyzed by toxicity assessment. The removal effect of the system on OTC in different actual water bodies was explored, and a scaled-up experiment to simulate the removal of OTC in hospital wastewater was carried out. The results showed that the system has good prospects for practical application. A certain experimental foundation was laid for improving the catalytic activity of MOF by calcination.
